Guest Tha Cunnysmythe Report post Posted May 21, 2003 Mario Party. I have thrown my (Gold) N64 controller countless times because of this fucking game. The CPU is such a bastard. He cheats like a motherfucker, and you know he cheats, but you can't do anything about it, because he's the fucking computer. It never lands on a fucking red space, and always manages to steal your coins just as you were about to collect a star. Not to mention that he's always conspiring with the other 2 characters to fuck you over and steal all your shit. Fuck him! Fuck him straight to hell! ...Can't wait for the next one, though. HAAAHAHAHAAAHHHAHAHAAA~! Don't ask why I found that so funny. Now. I remember breaking my original Gameboy by throwing it while playing WWF Superstars when I was about 10. Button-mashing games always piss me off, they make you feel so impotent when you fail. You hammer the shits as hard and fast as you can, give it all you have, and you STILL get owned. Either you flop in resignation or go insane with rage. The latter occurred in this case. It hit the leg of the ironing board and just stopped working. I got a transparent pocket one a few years later. I was 12 or 13, I think. I was playing Battletoads one day (Brilliant game, but difficult as all hell). I got to the level I still can't get past, a timed vertical scrolling level, and I either ran out of time or got crushed by the screen. I screamed something or other and pounded my fist into the screen, which cracked horribly. Most of it was black and you couldn't really see anything. You could see a few pixels of the Nintendo logo here and there when you switched it on, but nothing more. I still have the next one, but then the SNES comes up. I can't remember if the controller I bought was broken by me, or if it was just crap. Either way, some of the wiring is out and it won't work. I know I screwed up the B button by throwing it around - it comes out at an odd angle, feels weird to press, and often didn't work. The one that came with it... Well. I ruined that playing the original SFII a year or two ago. It was always my favourite version. Anyway, as your skill level goes up, you set higher goals for yourself. At this point, losing a round on Level 7 was criminal, especially with Ryu. I hurled and beat the controller from pillar to post over time, until buttons stuck out strangely. I used the wrong kind of screwdriver to open the controller, and now the screws are fucked and I can't close it again. Besides, I've lost some of the buttons now. My N64... Not much of a story here. In my uni dorm room last year, I used to get REALLY pissed off with WM2000 and Rogue Squadron, especially WM2000 - The way those bastards cheat so much in cage matches and never do their own moves, only reverse yours - ya know. Anyway, the controller and system suffered no damage, but the room did. I punched and kicked huge holes into the walls during the first semester, and left the N64 at home during the second. No more damage was done. And bizarrely, I wasn't charged a penny for it. Now I stick to my trusty PC, which can withstand a hefty slap or three to the monitor whenever things go wrong. Even if it does act strangely and flicker at times. The explanation for my rage? Well, I have a short temper. And I can't stand to fail repeatedly at a pointless, minor task. I become determined to beat it, even if it's reached the point where it's not even fun any more. I have problems. And this post is far too long.
B. Brian Brunzell 0 Report post Posted May 21, 2003 I have yet to break a game, but I have done damage to other inamimate objects. Madden alawys gives me shit. I've gone through 3 or 4 controllers thanks to that game. I love it to death, but every now and then, it pisses me off to no end, so I end up throwing my controller into the floor as hard as possible. I'm quite the controller-buster. I also have a hole in my wall thanks to Madden 2003.
Guest MaxPower27 Report post Posted May 21, 2003 I was playing Wrestlemania 2000 for the N64 and was trying to make a run for the tag team titles. I came up against the team of Ken Shamrock and Test. The match lasted a grand total of 84 minutes because they kept reversing EVERYTHING. I'd finally get a special, and they'd kick out. I'd go for a clothesline, and Kenny would reverse it into some stupid little armbar. Finally, at the 84 minute mark, I went for a vertical suplex. Test countered and small packaged me for the pin. I yelled at the top of my lungs, flipped over my coffee table, threw the controller so hard that I put a hole in the wall, and punched a hole in the wall. Man, I hate Test. Guest Memphis Report post Posted May 21, 2003 An EIGHTY-FOUR MINUTE FUCKING WRESTLING MATCH WITH TEST INVOLVED!?!?! So there is something worse than Nash vs HHH.
Guest MaxPower27 Report post Posted May 22, 2003 Indeed. That was the weird thing about WM2000, they had the longest matches on the TV shows. I can remember simulated matches on Raw/SD/Heat that lasted 74 minutes, and the total of the matches was something like 5 hours! On Raw!
Guest alfdogg Report post Posted May 27, 2003 I've broken seven controllers and countless controller paks, but no games.
Guest The Flying Dutchman Report post Posted May 28, 2003 I don't hurt my gaming equipment, though an N64 controller came close to being snapped in half during the APA handicap match in No Mercy. If you're talking about the hardcore match in the Boiler Room, I feel your pain. That has to be the hardest fucking thing ever on that game. I had No Mercy a year before the glitch got me. Fortunately, I'd saved my CAW's on the control pack. I've never actually broken my controllers, game, or N64 ... I'd never do anything to the games or the 64. The controllers on the other hand have taken more abuse than physically possible. You fling those sons of bitches full strength, full speed onto a concrete floor and you'd think SOMETHING would break, but you'd wrong. I've even spun them around by the cord a few times and then winged them down, but got NOTHING. I've got the controllers from hell, which in retrospect is a good thing, seeing as I do fling them around quite a bit.
Mecha Mummy 0 Report post Posted May 28, 2003 Once, in pure rage, I headbutted my Game Boy, breaking it. This was when I was like seven. I told my mom that I dropped it and I got a Game Boy Pocket.

Guest Renegade Report post Posted May 29, 2003 Most recent: Was playing Mark of the wolves on the dreamcast with a friend and was the in the middle of a finishing combo where the d-pad of my favorite pad (dragoncast fighter vibration pad) snaps clean off, cutting a large line down my thumb. Since the pad was beyond repair I smashed the remains into the floor. Now I need a new pad.
Guest the holy grail Report post Posted June 1, 2003 A very touchy moment , when the time comes for a computer console player to part with the game he has played for so many years. I'll say this though they bloody deserve it, games are there to ease the mind and relax the body, not piss you off and make a mockery of you!
Guest MaxPower27 Report post Posted June 1, 2003 I was just playing my NHL 2002 season on my comp, and I got called for a whopping 15 penalties, including 3 game misconducts, while the LA Kings didn't get ONE fucking call. My PK units were almost dead by the end of the game. I almost broke my controller, but I thought better of it, and scored 9 shorthanded goals.
Murmuring Beast 0 Report post Posted June 5, 2003 I destroyed a Master System. Does that count?
