Guest Kingpk Posted May 15, 2003 Report Posted May 15, 2003 True, that's probably the only real thing wrong with this whole thing, and probably why some people don't want to enjoy it.
Guest Space_Cowboy Posted May 15, 2003 Report Posted May 15, 2003 The Mr. America stuff is entertaining, but not so entertaining that it deserves 7 segments on Smackdown, even the Al Wilson crap didn't take up that much time.
Guest What? Posted May 15, 2003 Report Posted May 15, 2003 Simply. And Utterly. Retarded. ....Says the girl with a CELEBRITY RPG in her sig. I actually think this is pretty funny. The whole "Bret Hart is leading in the polls" thing is hilarious. Simply hilarious. and the "Comparison's" are gold. Not Kristian Svitak in "Label Kills" gold, but still damn funny.
Guest Kotzenjunge Posted May 15, 2003 Report Posted May 15, 2003 This shit is awesome. I'll take comedy as much as dramatic storylines and great matches any day.
Rob E Dangerously Posted May 15, 2003 Report Posted May 15, 2003 Mr. America really should be revealed as Al Wilson in a bodysuit. then at the next PPV.. Hulk Hogan, Tenacious Z and Torrie Wilson v. Sable, Al Wilson and Sean O'Haire
Guest Trivia247 Posted May 15, 2003 Report Posted May 15, 2003 what is it with comic books or movies based on comic books or tv shows.. when someone looks EXACTLY like the Super hero in question no one on the planet shouldn't be able to recognize him if he puts on a silly piece of fabric over his eyes like a mask, or takes off a pair of glasses etc etc same thing with this Mr.American business...other than they are playing up the fact everyone knows its hogan.
Guest Cerebus Posted May 15, 2003 Report Posted May 15, 2003 This is absolutely hilarious though I agree that it should not be the main focus of Smackdown some of these things are pure comedy gold.
Guest Slapnuts00 Posted May 15, 2003 Report Posted May 15, 2003 That is absolutely hilarious. My sig is getting a makeover...
Guest Heel In Peril Posted May 15, 2003 Report Posted May 15, 2003 We can make fun of it all we want. But I actually have a mark friend who isn't sure if it's Hogan or not. He's real excited to find out for sure. I don't have the heart (or the comical ignorance) to tell him. I just laugh. His big guess when it comes to Mr. America not being Hogan is that---get this---it's actually Austin faking the voice and jumping back and forth between brands to mess with Vince like Vince messed with him in the whole ministry/higher power angle (imagine much mark-ier phrasing). I give him credit for remembering the past like that though, but God!
Guest Memphis Posted May 15, 2003 Report Posted May 15, 2003 You're all wrong. Why? Because I AM MR. AMERICA! Had to come out sooner or later.
Guest Aero Posted May 15, 2003 Report Posted May 15, 2003 The funniest part to me is the fact that the same WWE who made this page made the Shopzone, which contains a Mr. America T-Shirt. Recommended items below... Hulk Hogan T-Shirt, Hulk Hogan action figure, etc.
Guest mach7 Posted May 15, 2003 Report Posted May 15, 2003 Hogan likes to smile while he rips. Mr. America prefers to make kissy faces. Gold. Heh, you beat me to it!
Guest Frankie Williams Posted May 15, 2003 Report Posted May 15, 2003 Im STILL not convinced its Hogan. Im really begining to think its Dan Spivey. But serioulsly, come on people, this is obviously supposed to be a joke. You really think someone e mailed WWE and said they thought it was Bastion Booger. Play along. Its funny....and dont forget.....its ONLY wrestling.
Mecha Mummy Posted May 15, 2003 Report Posted May 15, 2003 This is my new guilty pleasure. My Theory: Mr. America represents America. Elvis in an American Icon. Therefore, it's safe to say that Mr. America is JORGE ESTRADA!
David Blazenwing Posted May 15, 2003 Report Posted May 15, 2003 How about this? Would this surprise anybody?
LooseCannon25 Posted May 15, 2003 Report Posted May 15, 2003 Yes, some guys REALLY need to lighten up big time. Talk about a lack of a sense of humor, it's obviously a joke peeps. I personally don't think its Hogan since Mr America doesnt have that beard
Guest Frankie Williams Posted May 15, 2003 Report Posted May 15, 2003 I personally don't think its Hogan since Mr America doesnt have that beard Plus Hogan hasnt used Real American since 1993 (except for the 4th Of July Smackdown). Im going with either Pat Patterson or Gerald Brisco.
Guest Plushy Al Logan Posted May 15, 2003 Report Posted May 15, 2003 It's probably that Iraqi Information Minister.
ChrisMWaters Posted May 15, 2003 Report Posted May 15, 2003 I think Mr. America is Tony Atlas. I mean, the guy used to be called Mr. USA, remember?
Guest Plushy Al Logan Posted May 15, 2003 Report Posted May 15, 2003 Maybe Sgt. Slaughter is still trying to make up for that whole America sucks/Iraq rules thing in '91.
Guest D'Lo White Posted May 15, 2003 Report Posted May 15, 2003 Mr. America is not Hulk Hogan Mr. America is Thunder Lips, you can tell he's a ladies man.
Guest evenflowDDT Posted May 15, 2003 Report Posted May 15, 2003 You really think someone e mailed WWE and said they thought it was Bastion Booger. Why not? That's who it is, isn't it? Overweight, chomping down the Big Macs, in need of a shower, Bastion Booger truly does represent the all-American.
Guest Plushy Al Logan Posted May 15, 2003 Report Posted May 15, 2003 You really think someone e mailed WWE and said they thought it was Bastion Booger. Why not? That's who it is, isn't it? Overweight, chomping down the Big Macs, in need of a shower, Bastion Booger truly does represent the all-American. This one looks the most accurate for some reason.
Guest Blue Bacchus Posted May 15, 2003 Report Posted May 15, 2003 Greatest. Gimmick. Ever. I love this! I hope it keeps going!
Guest Kahran Ramsus Posted May 15, 2003 Report Posted May 15, 2003 This is great stuff. I don't see why you are complaining.
Guest RandomMallChicksRule Posted May 15, 2003 Report Posted May 15, 2003 Plus Hogan hasnt used Real American since 1993 (except for the 4th Of July Smackdown). I think it would be cool if Mr. America used "Born In The USA" by Bruce Springsteen. I would like to see something like they did years ago where they had Dude Love talking to Mankind on the Titantron. that or maybe Mr. America talking to Hogan via satellite.
Yuna_Firerose Posted May 15, 2003 Report Posted May 15, 2003 Simply. And Utterly. Retarded. ....Says the girl with a CELEBRITY RPG in her sig. You don't even RolePlay in said group, or even know what we're fuckin' like so don't judge the damn group unless you know how it is. ..........Damn, I'm fuckin' cussing like the Colin RolePlayer............dammit.
Guest Austin3164life Posted May 15, 2003 Report Posted May 15, 2003 This is great stuff. I don't see why you are complaining. Because: A- Less t.v. time for more talented wrestlers (key word: wrestlers) B- Eventual Vince/Hogan (sorry, Mr. America) rematch at Summerslam, highlighting the show alongside Brock/Benoit (ex., possibility). Buyrate bombs, Benoit gets blamed. Seriously, it was humorous for one night but this should NOT go on at all.
