Guest Memphis Posted May 17, 2003 Report Posted May 17, 2003 I bought Road Wild 1999. Sure, others would have bought it as well but what was MY reason for cashing in?? I actually thought it may be Nash's last match should he lose. Beat that, fuckers. M
Guest AlwaysPissedOff Posted May 17, 2003 Report Posted May 17, 2003 Damn... you're a glutton for punishment, eh? I woulda used the excuse of "losing a bet so I had to buy it", myself.
King Cucaracha Posted May 17, 2003 Report Posted May 17, 2003 Since I only pay for like 4 PPV's a year here, KOTR 95 is not worth the price of tape. But think yourselves lucky...you don't get the UK only PPV's...although I think they had the last one broadcast in WWE New York. But, the UK only PPV's tend to suck worse than anything they'd ever dream of making people to pay for in America. The matches are thrown together with in the main part no build up. For example Tiger Ali vs Edge, Blackman vs Droz, Funaki vs Crash...MIDEON VS KANE!!! They gave us One Night Only in 97 where HBK won the Euro Title, and then just forget about giving us anything worth while

As for the worst, I'd say it was Capital Carnage for the UK PPV and Backlash 2003 for a regular one.
Guest bravesfan Posted May 17, 2003 Report Posted May 17, 2003 The worst purchase I've made would have to be Uncensored 1996, although it did have a good Finlay/Regal brawl. Honorable mention goes to Wrestlemania IX and Road Wild 1998 (although we did get that show free.)
Guest Memphis Posted May 17, 2003 Report Posted May 17, 2003 Speaking of WWE PPV's in the UK, I recieved WWE Insurrextion 2002 free with my copy of Smackdown: Shut Your Mouth. Triple H vs Undertaker Big Show vs Austin THE HUMANITY~!
Guest alkeiper Posted May 17, 2003 Report Posted May 17, 2003 Battlebowl '93. The main event was a 16 man battle royal. Rip Rogers was in the main event, and we were subjected to the tag team of Awesome Kong and Dave Sullivan.
Guest Rob Van Dam Posted May 17, 2003 Report Posted May 17, 2003 Wrestlepalooza 98 was a decent show: RVD vs Sabu Shane Douglas vs Al Snow Taz punking out Douglas New Jack and Bigelow had a decent brawl Mikey Whipwreck vs Justin Credible the opening tag match was a decent comedy match Balls and Axl vs Storm and Candido was decent also The worst ppv i've ordered was WCW Fall Brawl 1998, just disappointing all around except for the Saturn and Raven match and Jerichos segment
Guest netslob Posted May 17, 2003 Report Posted May 17, 2003 Heroes of Wrestling...ordering it seemed like a good idea at the time...
Guest Luke Cage Posted May 17, 2003 Report Posted May 17, 2003 My name is Luke Cage and I ordered Bash 91. (Hi Luke!)
Guest cabbageboy Posted May 17, 2003 Report Posted May 17, 2003 That Fall Brawl 98 show is the lamest PPV I've ever seen. WCW had some truly hideous shows over the years but that one was just insulting. As if I wasn't a big enough glutton for punishment, Havoc 98 sucked too. That is the one where the show went off the air and I missed the end of Hogan/Warrior. They spent the first 30m or so having the Nitro Girls dance around for no reason. Just idiotic time management.
Guest CoreyLazarus416 Posted May 17, 2003 Report Posted May 17, 2003 WCW Road Wild '98, Fall Brawl '98, and New Blood Rising. Road Wild '98 was all-around awful, Fall Brawl '98 had three things going for it (Raven/Saturn, Jericho's promo, and Roddy Piper's face when entering), and New Blood Rising was only redeeming due to the ladder match (3Count/Jung Dragons) and Lance Storm.
Guest claydude14 Posted May 17, 2003 Report Posted May 17, 2003 Wrestlemania XV... I saw all the matches at a house show the week before, except Bossman-Taker.... ended up playing the original Mario Party for most of the show.
Mecha Mummy Posted May 17, 2003 Report Posted May 17, 2003 Probably an NWA-TNA one from December. This is because I usually try to not spend money on PPVs and get others to pay for me.
Guest Nevermortal Posted May 17, 2003 Report Posted May 17, 2003 King of the Ring 2002. I know people pimp Bash '91, KOTR '95 as the worst. But KOTR 2002 was just a steaming pile of shit containing the worst WWE Title defense of 2002, HHH v. Taker. I swear, Hogan/Taker & Hogan/HHH were better.
Guest Choken One Posted May 17, 2003 Report Posted May 17, 2003 Jesus Christ you have a good point...Luckily I never ordered it!
Guest JHawk Posted May 17, 2003 Report Posted May 17, 2003 Fall Brawl 98. Holy shit, did that suck major ass! I didn't order another WCW PPV until Starrcade 2000. I was THAT pissed about that suckfest. I remember ordering it thinking "Even with three teams, War Games is War Games", and when Tony Schiavone announced you could win it via pinfall, my dad and I looked at each other and said "We got ripped off" simultaneously...and the first match hadn't even started yet. WrestleMania XV was also a pain on first showing, and the stuff that saved the live broadcast doesn't hold up worth a damn on repeated viewings (HHH turns heel, etc.).
Guest Choken One Posted May 17, 2003 Report Posted May 17, 2003 Rock/Austin was good and So was Pac/Shane...
Guest AndrewTS Posted May 17, 2003 Report Posted May 17, 2003 King of the Ring 2002. I know people pimp Bash '91, KOTR '95 as the worst. But KOTR 2002 was just a steaming pile of shit containing the worst WWE Title defense of 2002, HHH v. Taker. I swear, Hogan/Taker & Hogan/HHH were better. What about that Jericho/RVD match Jericho hailed as a classic and got personally offended over when it was criticized?
LooseCannon25 Posted May 17, 2003 Report Posted May 17, 2003 What was so bad about KOTR 99? I don't remember anything about it.....except didn't Billy Gunn win? the card blew ass. here were the matches: -Taker vs. Rock: Championship match -SCSA vs. Vince and Shane McMahon -X-Pac vs. Hardcore Holly -TBS vs. Kane -Mr. Ass vs. Shamrock -Road Dogg vs. Chyna -Gunn vs Kane -Pac vs. Dogg -Pac vs. Gunn Ouch. The only good thing I remember from KOR 99 was good Ol JR doing his first tirade on a heel wrestler when HHH interfered in the Rock vs. Undertaker match. It was great "Oh for the love of gawd...........what the hell is he doing!!????? That son of a BITCH., Triple H, that NO GOOD SON...OF A BITCH. I hope he rots in hell!!!" Anyway my picks for worst PPV's ever 1)Uncensored 95 ---- You know a PPV show is terrible when you falla sleep during it. Terrible matches, and the dumb irony is that with all of these "unsanctioned" matches the wrestlers werent even allowed to blade and one guy (Dustin Rhodes) decided to blade and lost his job for it. Some dumb shit 2) King of the Ring 95 ----- I would have bet money it was gonna be HBK vs. Yoko in the finals , but instead we get Savio vs. Mable, with Taker and HBK being eliminated in the 1st round and razor being substituted. If thats not enough we get Diesel/ Bam Bam vs. Sid/Tatanka in the main event....ugh
Guest BobbyWhioux Posted May 17, 2003 Report Posted May 17, 2003 All right I know the worst PPV ever thread has been done before, but since I did not order KOTR 95 I was not really offended by it since the rental cost was only a couple bucks, but what was the worst PPV you actually shelled out the big bucks for? I did order KOTR 1995. Royal Rumble 1995, too. [Though it wasn't all that AWFUL. Just not very good, esp. by Royal Rumble standards.] Got most of the In your Houses from that year, too, but they all kinda blend together.
HurriShane Posted May 17, 2003 Report Posted May 17, 2003 For me, it would have to be King of the Ring 99

We had a different rumble that really didn't suck dispite the time difference... Bret/Nash was ****... Decent Ramon/Jarrett Double Match... Nice Tag Title Match... Hell RR 1995 was pretty damn good...
Guest Slapnuts00 Posted May 18, 2003 Report Posted May 18, 2003 Worst I've actually ever paid to see would be either Wrestlemania XV or Invasion 2001
PsychoDriver Posted May 18, 2003 Report Posted May 18, 2003 Fully Loaded 98: Just found it painful to watch. Royal Rumble 99: Rock-Foley was good.. but the rest was awful. WCW Bash at the beach 99: Watched it over a friends house and man, did it suck
Guest Kahran Ramsus Posted May 18, 2003 Report Posted May 18, 2003 1) King of the Ring 1995 2) King of the Ring 1999 3) Wrestlemania XV 4) Royal Rumble 1999 5) Wrestlemania IX
Gert T Posted May 18, 2003 Author Report Posted May 18, 2003 But KOTR 2002 was just a steaming pile of shit containing the worst WWE Title defense of 2002, HHH v. Taker. I swear, Hogan/Taker & Hogan/HHH were better. Yeah I forgot about that one. I guess that one would be at the top of my "Drove a couple hours and paid 80 bucks to see worst PPV thread"
Guest Stunt Granny Posted May 18, 2003 Report Posted May 18, 2003 Rock Bottom, I think I'm the only person who watched it. Looking back the card had nothing offer but Rock vs. Mankind was pretty good, or at least I thought so at the time. Also Hogan tapping to the ankle lock DQ's KOtR '02 from being the worst PPV ever.
Guest Cerebus Posted May 18, 2003 Report Posted May 18, 2003 Wrestlemania XV... I saw all the matches at a house show the week before, except Bossman-Taker.... ended up playing the original Mario Party for most of the show. I remember ordering this show...except for Bossman/Taker being dissapointing I remember the show being a pretty solid one.
