Bored 0 Report post Posted May 23, 2003 Oh what are you talking about? Undertaker will put him over...after he squashes him he'll raise John Cena's arm! That's the ultimate rub!
Guest oldschoolwrestling Report post Posted May 23, 2003 Yes he will be squashed. BUT..........I can't wait to hear the raps he puts on Undertaker. So far its been no holds barred when he raps. I truly hope he gets to go all out on UT.
Guest humongous2002 Report post Posted May 23, 2003 Taker will squash him like a bug, he will not sell for Cena and at the end of the match he will shake his hand, that will get Cena over.
Guest Polish_Rifle Report post Posted May 23, 2003 At least he won't be wrestling Spanky.
Guest Choken One Report post Posted May 23, 2003 The Freestyles on Taker will be the only redeeming thing here... Hopefully Angle gets his word in on this and demand a Cena ME slot...
Guest subliminal_animal Report post Posted May 23, 2003 Oh what are you talking about? Undertaker will put him over...after he squashes him he'll raise John Cena's arm! That's the ultimate rub! I think the cyniism here is exaggerated and pathetic in most cases, but it's cool in doses. That said, I say that is very hilarious. Yes he will be squashed. BUT..........I can't wait to hear the raps he puts on Undertaker. So far its been no holds barred when he raps. I truly hope he gets to go all out on UT. Not really. He's been digging into people good, but not really getting too personal. He's already freestyled on Taker a couple times. The one before the tournament match was great, but it wasn't anything that was "OH HOLY FUCK I CANT BELIEVE HE JUST SAY THAT KILL HIM TAKER THIS IS YOU YARD AND YOU BIG DOG AND HE NEED TO GO ON OH LOOK AT MY WATCH ITS LAST RIDE TIME." For "smarks," at least. Besides, even if he was given the freedom to say how Taker doesn't put people over in a kayfabed (hate that word) sense, I doubt he would. That's just not good business. Taker will squash him like a bug, he will not sell for Cena and at the end of the match he will shake his hand, that will get Cena over. SUBLIMINAL_ANIMAL: Someone else already finished the race. And with a better stroke, too. JEFF JARRETT: The best stroke ... ha ha ... is alllll the stroke around here, slappy!

Guest The Bad Guy Report post Posted May 23, 2003 Cena needs to pick up his in-ring work....bad. He has a great gimmick and tremendous total package, but his choppy and unnatural work is painful to watch. Eh... I don't think he's that bad in the ring. He's not the greatest, but he's okay and can be taken to a very good match with a good talent.

B. Brian Brunzell 0 Report post Posted May 23, 2003 Hey, maybe 'Taker is a changed man after this most recent injury. Perhaps he'll go out and put everyone, Cena included, over. Maybe, just maybe, he'll help make Cena into the ME player that Kurt Angle wants him to be. **wakes up**

Guest AndrewTS Report post Posted May 23, 2003 Taker is the most fucking boring guy on either roster to me. I don't give a shit. I thought Taker came back last night?

Guest AndrewTS Report post Posted May 23, 2003 (edited) geez been a while since I saw some Taker hating you all are so rusty... Why bitch about a guy who hasn't been around? Hell, he's been out injured 3 times in the past year, despite how little he actually does in the ring. His promos make Crips look like the Rock. It isn't just that he's a politicking prick, it's also that he's painfully dull. I actually could put up with the Undertaker, but seen Mean Mark using Undertaker's moniker puts me to sleep. Cena isn't anywhere near ready to be a main event, but won't do him any good. Edited May 23, 2003 by AndrewTS
Guest Anglesault Report post Posted May 23, 2003 Oh well what can you do. Look at the bright side That Backlash world title was a disaster. Do you want cena to go in, fuck another ME, and ruin his future for a LONG time? Oh yeah... Two less obstacles in the way for Lesnar/Angle!

His matches will never exceed *** until HE begins to carry his own weight. If they'd fucking wake up and do something right, that stable idea of Benoit and Rhyno with Cena as more of a mouthpiece would be great for him. He could hone his skills (by himself and by being associated with one of the best), be kept in tags where he won't overexpose himself, and do the majority of promo time for the group (since he's the obvious choice of the three). Rhyno NEEDS to be a heel. Benoit could use some freshening up after taking on virtually every heel on the SD roster. And it would put Cena even more up the card. But this is WWE. That's all just wishful thinking.

I'm very glad (and a bit surprised) that you were able to recognize some of Cena's shortcomings. Dames I've always known it, I just thought by now he'd be able to pick it up. He has a very unnatural ability, and his matches suffer because of it. You'd think teaching from Angle, Benoit, and others would help - but it hasn't. Add on top of it, his raps have been slowed and dumbed down for the masses, and you get the current John Cena. Kurt Angle is the company's savior now, and I think he'll come back stronger than ever. Guest Mulatto Heat Report post Posted May 23, 2003 Wow, I'm glad I'm not the only one that noticed the drop in rap quality from Cena last night. There was no energy in it.
Guest Austin3164life Report post Posted May 23, 2003 Cena has been wrestling for barely over a year, and I never expected him to be special in the ring. It's obvious that he is green and needs to develop his offense, but I have heard a lot about his work in OVW and how he is a natural. Don't forget, everyone has to wrestle the WWE style these days. I'm not trying to cover up his faults, because they showed against Lesnar at Backlash, but hopefully Cena goes over the Undertaker, and Angle puts in a good word for Cena to get involved with Angle/Lesnar/Benoit/Rhyno. If Cena gets involved with them, he'll probably be much more motivated to hone his skills and develop.
Guest Mulatto Heat Report post Posted May 23, 2003 Don't forget, everyone has to wrestle the WWE style these days. Oh, I don't. I really fear for the future because of all the rookies, all have bland ring styles except for those that have extensive amateur backgrounds (all 3 of them). We've heard so many good things about Cena, O'Haire, Dupree, even Batista in the developmentals. So why hasn't it shown in the big leagues? Oh, and I thought Taker was going to feud with a turned Nathan Jones. I guess this means that Mr. Australia is gone. *crosses fingers, then remembers there was a glimpse of him in the new SD intro*
Guest Banky Report post Posted May 23, 2003 Cena's been wrestling for longer than a year. I'd say atleast 2. I think the guys in OVW got praised because of the format of their matches. The Southern old school style of Cornette's booking enabled them to work well under that radar. But in the WWE, they've just not gotten it together. Why it hasn't correlated with the WWE, I don't know. I just haven't seen much of anything from Rico, Cena, Orton, or even Lesnar. Angle carried him with workrate, and the Rock carried him with emotion.
Guest AndrewTS Report post Posted May 23, 2003 I just haven't seen much of anything from Rico, Cena, Orton, or even Lesnar. Angle carried him with workrate, and the Rock carried him with emotion. Rico had a really good match with Rey and his OVW work is considered head and shoulders the best they had. He hasn't had a chance to do much in WWE. Cena's average right now. Orton flat out sucks. Lesnar?!? I could see that if you haven't seen any of his PPV matches, but he's a really good worker and the biggest surprise out of all of them.
Guest Austin3164life Report post Posted May 23, 2003 I'm giving Cena a chance because while it may seem like he looks non-energized in the ring, I believe he has a calmness about himself in there. He never looks panicked. He really needs to expand his moveset though, because he's starting to get psychology down (working on body parts, etc.). His character is great, all he needs is a nice upper-card/ME program with someone like Angle to solidify John's future as a Main Eventer. Hopefully he doesn't get squashed by The Undertaker. Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Report post Posted May 23, 2003 You know whay I always wondered? What do these young guys think when they are told they are getting booked with certain veterans? These guys have their whole career's ahead of them to worry about...and they've seen what's happened to people's career's getting derailed in the past. I'm sure it makes them uneasy, which is why I shudder to think what 'Taker might have in store for him this summer. Angle has said that he wants Cena involved with him somehow, so hopefully Angle's word turns Vince's ear more than 'Takers.

Lesnar?!? I could see that if you haven't seen any of his PPV matches, but he's a really good worker and the biggest surprise out of all of them. 1 good match in almost a year doesn't make this guy great. He has had a few chances, and he was ok, but nothing special. Nowhere close to as good as people preach him to be. Cena is below average in the ring. I don't know what has happened, but lately, his work has really dropped. Hopefully he'll be able to pick it up. Orton was boring while on Smackdown. He hasn't been able to show much off on RAW. And what makes Lesnar such a great wrestler? He never busts out of amateur skills, and uses mainly power moves. He can have good matches (Rock, Undertaker HIAC) and great matches (Angle) but either than that, he hasn't proven to be the Next Big Thing. He's a glorified Goldberg with superior skills that he chooses not to use.
Guest Austin3164life Report post Posted May 23, 2003 Angle said that he wants to team with Lesnar as a face, and wants Benoit/Rhyno to be against them with John Cena as the stick guy for the Benoit/Rhyno team.
