syxx2001 Posted May 26, 2003 Report Posted May 26, 2003 This from Peter Kent from 411mania.com And if you're going to do it, you may want to do it soon. Rumor has it that the one year anniversary show may be the LAST TNA show, period. The NWA has a one year contract with the PPV networks, and supposedly the networks may not want to continue airing TNA. The PWTorch crew seems to enjoy pointing out that TNA is losing money every week. This is all INTERNET NEWZZZ, so who knows. Is tis twue? No more Amazing Wed on Wednesday nights? No more Twiple X?
Guest NoSelfWorth Posted May 26, 2003 Report Posted May 26, 2003 Well it was no secret that if the Panda deal hadn't come through, Jerry Jarrett was going to close NWA:TNA down. Even with Panda involved, it doesn't seem that any extra money is coming in, and it would seem that DirecTV are sick of losing money every week. NWA:TNA's one real hope for survival was to get a national tv deal, and without that, it looks like the end is near for them.
Guest Slapnuts00 Posted May 26, 2003 Report Posted May 26, 2003 It's been sucessful, INDemand has too many channels to fill, it's new content. They'll get a new deal...
Guest eirejmcmahon Posted May 26, 2003 Report Posted May 26, 2003 Are there any hard figures at all available for the kind of buyrates that they've done/are doing ?
Mecha Mummy Posted May 26, 2003 Report Posted May 26, 2003 Aw, man, if TNA dies before I can get Triple X's music I'm gonna scream.
Guest NoSelfWorth Posted May 26, 2003 Report Posted May 26, 2003 Are there any hard figures at all available for the kind of buyrates that they've done/are doing ? That's a funny question actually. When TNA first started, they said that, by contract, they wouldn't get any final numbers for a year. As the SEX storyline unfolded though, TNA kept saying how it had increased the buy rates, both as part of the show and in interviews given to various people, and yet the PPV companies couldn't give any definite numbers. So either TNA are lying, the PPV companies are lying, or they both are. And the only reason there would be for them BOTH to lie, is if the buy rates are so embarrassing, they don't want to acknowledge them.
syxx2001 Posted May 26, 2003 Author Report Posted May 26, 2003 they probably have buyrates, but not like "we had 8,039" people order last week. more like "4500-9000" order last week.
Guest CoreyLazarus416 Posted May 26, 2003 Report Posted May 26, 2003 Man, with only 3 more shows...THEY NEED TO HURRY THE FUCK UP AND GET A TV DEAL!
Guest TheGame2705 Posted May 26, 2003 Report Posted May 26, 2003 A part of me we wants it to die to put a stop to Red and Low-Ki wrestling on TV but then I want to still see Styles, Raven, Lynn, etc. I hope they don't die.
syxx2001 Posted May 26, 2003 Author Report Posted May 26, 2003 can i have some of that you are smoking?
Guest Slapnuts00 Posted May 26, 2003 Report Posted May 26, 2003 A part of me we wants it to die to put a stop to Red and Low-Ki wrestling on TV Hey, you know part of me wants you to die so you stop posting your stupidity...
Guest Downhome Posted May 26, 2003 Report Posted May 26, 2003 If it dies out before I could ever watch a single show of it, I'll be pissed.
Guest Blue Bacchus Posted May 26, 2003 Report Posted May 26, 2003 You've had a whole year Downhome! Where have you been? Well if it the last show, I'm glad I'll be a part of it. I personally don't think it will be, there has to be a Ying to Vince's WWE Yang.
Guest Slapnuts00 Posted May 27, 2003 Report Posted May 27, 2003 Whoa, Im quoted in someone's sig! Groovy.
Guest Downhome Posted May 27, 2003 Report Posted May 27, 2003 You've had a whole year Downhome! Where have you been? Dish Network doesn't offer the TNA events.
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Posted May 27, 2003 Report Posted May 27, 2003 I don't know. I'd think that Meltzer would have said something about it on WOL...instead he complained about the AMW storyline.
Guest The Burglar MACK Posted May 27, 2003 Report Posted May 27, 2003 If TNA dies - at least ROH will be around.
Guest eirejmcmahon Posted May 27, 2003 Report Posted May 27, 2003 How many weeks into their fifty two PPV deal are NWATNA ?
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Posted May 27, 2003 Report Posted May 27, 2003 This will be week 47 (since in this case the X division special counts) of 52.
Adam Posted May 28, 2003 Report Posted May 28, 2003 A part of me we wants it to die to put a stop to Red and Low-Ki wrestling on TV I do not know who you are, but I hate you.
Guest Ulysses Everett McGill Posted May 28, 2003 Report Posted May 28, 2003 A part of me we wants it to die to put a stop to Red and Low-Ki wrestling on TV What the hell kind of stupid thing is that to say? No wonder almost everybody here hates your guts.
Adam Posted May 28, 2003 Report Posted May 28, 2003 Does this mean that apart from ROH, no more Daniels? Styles? Red? 'Ki? Kash? London? NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
Guest B-X Posted May 28, 2003 Report Posted May 28, 2003 Pay no attention to Game. He purposely tries to stir shit.
Guest Blue Bacchus Posted May 28, 2003 Report Posted May 28, 2003 Whoa, Im quoted in someone's sig! Groovy. Dude when I read that I almost wet myself! And Downhome, I'm sorry dude
Adam Posted May 28, 2003 Report Posted May 28, 2003 Pay no attention to Game. He purposely tries to stir shit. Yes, he is a dick.
Guest Mole Posted May 28, 2003 Report Posted May 28, 2003 I think that 1wrestling or WO would of reported this today.
Guest Mole Posted May 28, 2003 Report Posted May 28, 2003 Wait a second, I just went to 411mania, and I don't see this reported at all. What the fuck?
Guest MrRant Posted May 28, 2003 Report Posted May 28, 2003 NWA-TNA is listed on the InDEMAND website through July 30th which is ten weeks so take that for what its worth.
Adam Posted May 28, 2003 Report Posted May 28, 2003 It better not go away, then I'll just have to order my ROH tapes and wait a few weeks for each!
thuganomics Posted May 29, 2003 Report Posted May 29, 2003 I doubt TNA is going anywhere. In Demand needs all the shows they can get.
