Guest Slapnuts00 Report post Posted May 28, 2003 I was just listning to Wade Keller's Torch audio update and he mentioned that the word going around is Austin's messed up face stemmed from a 1 car auto accident he had, which means he crashed into something and it was his own fault. Apparently he suffered a broken nose and bruised eyes and a lot was covered up by makeup. The inevitable conclusion is that Austin could have been drinking and driving. Austin has been open in the past about having a few beers before and while driving (talking about it in a past Rolling Stone article) and since his probation ended has been seen drinking A LOT, and caused many to say they are concerned for his wellbeing but afraid to approach him about it. Another interesting thing to note, is on RAW, even though he opened some beers for Lillian, he himself never actually drank any which could be significant. If this is all true, Austin needs to be taken aside by Vince and helped if he hasn't already. Drinking and driving is very serious and Austin fucked himself up bad enough, can you imagine what could have happened if he hit someone else and injured or even killed them. Does WWE really want that type of liability on their hands? Now again, its just speculation here but its known that Austin is depressed about his career being ended and has been drinking a lot to componsate for it. Although his "Alcholic Redneck" perosna is very popular, alcoholism is not a funny matter, and Ausitn very well might need help for his own and others sake. I believe Austin should be taken off TV and given the same ultimatums that Jeff Hardy and Arn Anderson were given. It's for his own good. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

Guest Slapnuts00 Report post Posted May 28, 2003 Indeed that part is speculation but the Torch has reported that Austin has been drinking heavier than usual to compensate for his depression over his forced retirement and that wrestlers asked about it say they are concerned for him but afraid to approach him. He gets into a 1 man accident causing a broken nose and severely bruised face that WWE.com doesn't even mention in a tidbit, combined with the interesting tidbit that he didn't actually drink any beer at his Memorial Day beer bash leads to a lot of suspicion. I'm hoping if there is a problem that Vince or somebody has taken Austin aside and attempted to help him. More alcholosim will just lead to more problems for Austin and for WWE publicity. The only problem now is that driving while intoxicated could possibly endanger more then just his life...If he decides to drive on busy streets. If it was seriously a problem I think Vince and others would actually sit down and have a talk with him. If the wrestlers who were worried about him, were really his friends...Then they should talk to him about it. Sure he might fly off the handle and get upset for people getting into his personal business...But he would have to realize it was because they cared and it was for his own good. Now as to the whole why he didn't drink beer at Memorial Day and opted for pouring beer all over Lilian(A La pure ghetto hoochie hip hop BET Un-Cut music video style, just need more fondling and groping on Lilian's part) shows that perhaps he realized it was a stupid thing for him to do...So he was not going to drink for the rest of the night. Which at least shows he cares about RAW and the performance... It could be worse....He could be stumbling down to ringside with the beer cans all around him...Getting the mic to talk but hardly being able to be understood because he's so drunk...Followed up with a nice good puke session in the ring...That would make for some great tv!
