ChrisMWaters 0 Report post Posted May 31, 2003 All right...we all know who the usual main eventers are on Smackdown...Brock Lesnar, the Champion...Hulk "Mr. America" Hogan (who isn't with the title scene right now), Big Show, Undertaker, Kurt Angle when he comes back...and every now and then Benoit will peek over the wall ala Killroy... But my question is...who else should be built up to be a viable challenger for Lesnar...I mean, he can't fight Big Show forever (*says a quick prayer so that Lesnar DOESN'T fight Big Show forever*)...Undertaker's probably gonna be busy with the FBI...Benoit needs to be built back up...Angle we'll have to see what's going on with him. People have said that Rhyno should be pushed up the card to be a challenger...which I could see (and yes, I would like to have Heyman managing him...if just for GORE! GORE! GOOOOOORE!)...and John Cena was ALMOST built there...but who else? Is there anyone else?
Guest newblood03 Report post Posted May 31, 2003 well i wish they had left lance on smacdown and pushed him like WCW did( u no one the few things they did good at the end). I loved him when he got that great push and had 3 belts at once.

ChrisMWaters 0 Report post Posted May 31, 2003 Someone I forgot to mention...assuming Lesnar is still champ when he comes back... Edge...who I think could be built up to be a good threat if he brought back some of his old school stuff (like the serious silence) and got rid of the Rob Zombie theme that he's had since September of 2001. ChrisMWaters 0 Report post Posted May 31, 2003 I think everyone on this board will say Benoit should be next, and why not? Well, I know he should be next. I'm just saying BESIDES him...AFTER the feuds...who should be brought up to the top rankings? I'm remembering back to the old 80's WWF days...and for a mark watching...LOTS of people were contenders for Hogan's title (Savage, Warrior, Roberts, Andre, I think Studd, Mr. Perfect, Bad News Brown...) ChrisMWaters 0 Report post Posted May 31, 2003 Keep Cena up there Rhyno Benoit Mattitude (drop the Cruiser title to Rey or Ultimo) Nathan Jones ...that last suggestion better have been a joke... If not, that makes Jones the Zeus to Brock's Hogan.

Guest Dynamite Kido Report post Posted May 31, 2003 Benoit - Especially after jobbing to O'Haire this week should be in line for a title shot. Guerrero - I know he is a tag champion now but when him and Tajiri loose the belts he could challenge Brock for the belt. Cena - They built him up before, do it again. Rhyno - Could be a monster heel.... "200th post, WOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!"
Guest Choken One Report post Posted May 31, 2003 Chris Benoit is the obvious Choice here... However... I wouldn't mind a Lesnar/Undertaker RESPECT fued if it were building to a throw away show like Backlash or J.D but not for The first SD exclusive PPV... Hogan isn't involved with the title in ANY sense...However...I wouldn't mind seeing a Lesnar/Hogan face vs Face match...but as long as it's not ppv... The Big Show was fine for Throw away ppv's and as a title placeholder...but Once Lesnar gets the final squash in two weeks he should return to the mid cards or become a Offical tag teamer or something. Rhyno is a good choice and Heyman is bound to get his way at some point in the future... They should have Rhyno beat Palumbo in a quickie squash and show him walking back to his dressing room and he stops in his boots and he goes "What do you want?" and shuts the door... He stays off air for a couple of weeks... Lesnar squashes TBS for the final time....And celebrates when Heyman's Music hits (ECW theme if you will) and Heyman walks down the aisle in his Signature suit and Yankees Hat... Lesnar is apperhensive...Heyman offers to shake Lesnar's Hand...He does and nothing happens. Heyman congragulates him on his victory and his success as the WWE world Champion. He pretty much gives him a Blow-Job...and Lesnar starts smiling. Then Heyman turns into in an Madman...Calling him him A tratior and shit... Lesnar gets pissed and Puts Heyman into a Choke...Rhyno hops the Rails and GORE GORE GORES Lesnar. Lesnar sells it like a gun shot. Heyman blow-jobs Rhyno and this sets up Rhyno/Lesnar for Venegence. Garth 0 Report post Posted June 1, 2003 In my opinion, anyone that is within the uppermid card, should be booked as to look like a possible threat/contender to the title.
Guest RavishingRickRudo Report post Posted June 1, 2003 I can't think of anyone. They took the wind out of Benoit and Rhynos sails by having them job clean to Cena. They took Cena out by completely dropping him from the ME (thus indirectly taking out Benoit and Rhyno). The FBI's recent push doesn't work due to the fact that they've been booked weak for the first few months. Albert and Demott are on Velocity. Matt Hardy and Rey are cruiserweights, and besides, Rey showed that he can't hang with the Big Boys when he got destroyed by BS. So in other words... They need to debut someone. Guest Choken One Report post Posted June 1, 2003 except for That Benoit fella...He isn't ready for a Main event push and could use some seasoning down in OVW. However, A-Train is primed for a long-term Main event program with the champion...
Guest RavishingRickRudo Report post Posted June 1, 2003 ... Oh, and Brock already beat Taker in their blowoff match - HIAC.
Guest Choken One Report post Posted June 1, 2003 If Vengence was a Throwaway show...I wouldn't mind an Undertaker/Lesnar showdown again... For some reason those two were fun to watch against each other and Lesnar's grown up in the last 6 months... I mean I'd rather have Benoit but I'll take Undertaker over TBS any day of the week. I'm still thinking Angle should come back as the Face and do something with Cena because Angle is high on Cena, and he can't be rushed back to the main event and run the risk of a crowd turn on Angle...So if you occupy Angle with Cena (whom can draw GREAT HEAT) and give Lesnar either Benoit, Taker, or Rhyno. If Dragon wasn't set to come in...I'd throw for a Lesnar/Mysterio...Just to change things up...Since Mysterio has been getting a Major push lately...When was the last time a CW had involvment in the MAIN EVENT? Lesnar/Mysterio would get alot of buzz because those two are great yet different wrestlers that could really put on a show...
Guest RavishingRickRudo Report post Posted June 1, 2003 But there is *no* reason for Taker to fight Lesnar. Lesnar beat Taker in Takers match. They can't get bigger than that. Benoit is fried. Angle vs. Cena doesn't work. Angle should be working serious programs - not with goofs like Cena. Somewhere down the line when Cena develops, then yes, but not anytime soon. Cruiserweights should not be fighting Heavyweights - all it will do is expose Rey as being small and weak and any pinfall attempt he would get would be called 'lucky'. When Angle comes back he should do something with Team Angle, then a turned Rhyno, then Brock.
Guest Choken One Report post Posted June 1, 2003 Cena has cut some serious Promos lately..So it's not like he is all comedy ya know... I wasn't saying UT/Lesnar SHOULD happen but I wouldn't mind that if the other option is TBS or any other SD hoss... Mysterio is the #3 face on SD (after Lesnar and hOGAN) and you could always do the Friendship/Rey wants to prove a point...
Guest RavishingRickRudo Report post Posted June 1, 2003 Cena still is goofy. I'd rather have Demott than Taker. My point about Rey still stands.
Guest Choken One Report post Posted June 1, 2003 Don't you remember the Lesnar/Mysterio two minute match last fall? Mysterio was driving Lesnar batty with his speed...and the crowd was eating it up with a spoon... Maybe not for a PPV match but Lesnar/Mysterio could be a great TV Main event... Guest Coffey Report post Posted June 1, 2003 Well, let's see, there are serveral wrestlers whom I wouldn't mind seeing get the main event push. Especially if they got to stay there afterwards, and not just be cannon fodder for a month: Chris Benoit Eddie Guerrero Sean O'Haire Rhyno John Cena Bill DeMottOf course, some are debatable, but I just selected people that I liked and people whom I felt deserved a shot. Hey! I like the Rob Zombie theme! And the seizure-inducing strobe light entrance! Weeeeee! As for #1 Contenders, it seems like WWE is slowly starting to build Sean 'O Haire up to that level Mark my words... by the end of the year, 'O Haire will have at least gotten a shot at the WWE title
Guest RavishingRickRudo Report post Posted June 1, 2003 O'haire would work (storyline wise - I don't think they would mesh well in-ring) had they developed him better.
Guest croweater Report post Posted June 2, 2003 Brock having to sell for someone small won't make him look bad if the comentators put them over right....... Instead of the usual "he's so small How's he gonna beat a man so big" it should be stating that everything hurts, regardless of the size of the man. Rey needs to be put over in the midcard more, and the bigger midcarders need to begin selling for him before anything else........ the only problem I see with a rey push is that in general larger wrestlers are bad sellers, for anyone, not just rey, but because he is small, it looks more like they are no selling just because of that. Guest RavishingRickRudo Report post Posted June 2, 2003 ...Or they could just elevate the cruiserweight division and have Rey stay there.
