Guest Dmann2000 Posted June 2, 2003 Report Posted June 2, 2003 I dunno, I've been on a Megadeth/Mustaine kick lately. Never heard much pre-Countdown, just wondering what the consensus here is on them. Not sure what my fav track is currently, I dig "Peace Sells...", "Hanger 18" and "Symphony of Destruction".
Guest CoreyLazarus416 Posted June 2, 2003 Report Posted June 2, 2003 My favorite album is actually the "greatest hits" comp, Capitol Punishment. Otherwise, I'd have to say Peace Sells...But Who's Buying?.
Rendclaw Posted June 2, 2003 Report Posted June 2, 2003 Though I love the old classic stuff, my favorite album by far is Youthanasia. From beginning to end, the album rocks.
Guest Dmann2000 Posted June 2, 2003 Report Posted June 2, 2003 Still you guys gotta admit, the opening riff of "Hanger 18" is kick ass.
Guest HungryJack Posted June 3, 2003 Report Posted June 3, 2003 I'd agree with Capitol Punishment, though the double live disc is fucking awesome also
Guest CoreyLazarus416 Posted June 3, 2003 Report Posted June 3, 2003 I forgot to add favorite songs. "Hangar 18" "Holy Wars...The Punishment Due" "A Tout Le Monde" "Peace Sells"
Guest MaxPower27 Posted June 3, 2003 Report Posted June 3, 2003 I like Symphony of Destruction, Skin of my teeth, and Sweating Bullets. Don't know which album they are on though.
Guest goodhelmet Posted June 3, 2003 Report Posted June 3, 2003 easy... favorite album as a whole would be "so far, so good, so what..." favorite song... peace sells.
Guest Ray Posted June 3, 2003 Report Posted June 3, 2003 Megadeth is awesome. One of the greatest metal bands ever. Can't think of a favorite album right now. Favorite songs are.... "Peace Sells" "Into yhe Lungs of Hell" "Train of Consequences" "99 Ways to Die" "Hangar 18"
Guest Agent of Oblivion Posted June 3, 2003 Report Posted June 3, 2003 Either Peace Sells or Youthanasia...
Guest Dace59 Posted June 3, 2003 Report Posted June 3, 2003 For me, probably Rust In Peace. But nothing can pwn that funky beat from Peace Sells.
Guest redbaron51 Posted June 3, 2003 Report Posted June 3, 2003 Favourite album has to be Rust In Peace or Youthanasia, and The World Needs A Hero (underrated IMO) Favourite songs are Disconnect Trust Almost Honest Hanger 18 Holy Wars Symphony of Destruction Rust In Peace In My Darkest Hour Reckoning Day Little Question: Who played Lead Guitar on Megadeth's first album (hint: he's still playing in a semi-famous band)
Guest CoreyLazarus416 Posted June 3, 2003 Report Posted June 3, 2003 Didn't Kerry King play lead for Megadeth for a while?
Guest CoreyLazarus416 Posted June 3, 2003 Report Posted June 3, 2003 **dances bad motherfucker style**
Guest converge241 Posted June 3, 2003 Report Posted June 3, 2003 song: Mary Jane (maybe Wake Up Dead) album: Cryptic Writings
Guest HellSpawn Posted June 5, 2003 Report Posted June 5, 2003 Song? In My Darkest Hour / Symphony of Destruction and Album? Rust in Peace
Guest The Hollywood Fashion Plate Posted June 5, 2003 Report Posted June 5, 2003 Song: Hangar 18 Album: TWNAH These guys were the first band to get me into metal, and ironically I got into them by listening to their lightest album Risk. Then, I got Capitol Punishment and became a fucking droogie.
Guest La Parka Es Mi Papa Posted June 6, 2003 Report Posted June 6, 2003 Album: Peace Sells or Countdown To Extinction Song: Holy Wars
Guest Memphis Posted June 6, 2003 Report Posted June 6, 2003 'Peace Sells...But Who's Buying?' - The album and title track are Megadeth's best and most technically sound work. I still play it all the time. M
B. Brian Brunzell Posted June 6, 2003 Report Posted June 6, 2003 Favorite MegaDave album: Rust In Peace Favorite Songs: "Holy Wars(The Punishment Due)" "Hangar 18" "Architecture of Aggression" "Angry Again" "Tout le Monde"

Guest two_tuff_toddy Posted June 7, 2003 Report Posted June 7, 2003 Megadeth is gay and can rot in hell.
Guest DARRYLXWF Posted July 20, 2003 Report Posted July 20, 2003 Didn't Kerry King play lead for Megadeth for a while? BUMP Yes. He played at their first few shows before Mustaine found Chris Poland (or Kerry King decided Slayer was to be his main focus). Anyway, I think Peace Sells is a better album than Rust in Peace, and My Last Words has GOT to be the most underrated Megadeth song. Damn, that song rocks. Anyone thinking about buying Mustaine's solo album? I might download a couple of songs to get the feel of the album, but hopefully it'll be a bit faster than the last few Megadeth records.
Guest DR PHIL Posted July 20, 2003 Report Posted July 20, 2003 I'm sorry, but I have tried to get into megadeth but mustaine's vocals just suck cock and ruin every song. The only one I can tolerate is hangar 18 and that's SOLEY because of the kick-ass riff.
Guest HungryJack Posted July 20, 2003 Report Posted July 20, 2003 I think it's unfair to compare Megadeths and metallica's early works, because in all honestly, a lot of Metallica's shit at that point was written or at leats co-written by Mustaine. I mean, the dude had writing credits up until freaking master of puppets.
