WHO would pay for that? It's a glorified Raw card.

Looks like yet another craptastic UK PPV.

I haven't ordered one since Insurrextion 2000... and I won't again.

One Night Only will never be beaten, so why bother?

Why can't Vince just face that Nash, Steiner and Goldberg suck ass? It's not the 80's when you could have huge hulking motionless brutes and people would think they were good. Fuck even in the 80's Hogan didn't deal with anyone that motionless except Andre and he had an excuse.

My heart goes out to the UK for that card.

WORLD TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP

RVD & Kane vs. La Resistance

Why are they blowing off the Bad Blood tag match at the comparatively meaningless InsurreXtion, where no Americans will see it live? Something screwy's got to happen, apparently.

Well, maybe they want to gauge the reaction to La Resistance in Europe. They'll probably just insult Britain for siding with the US, ect. It's too bad WWE won't be going to France. Just imagine the ungodly face heat La Resistance would get.

Is ANYBODY ordering this thing?

Jazz over Trish following interference from Long and Victoria- decent women's match

RVD and Kane over La Resistance- same old stuff form Raw- La Resistance are crap

Christian over Booker T- match of the night

Golddust over Rico- longer than expected - technically sound but a bit boring

Dudley Boys over Long/Mack/Nowinski- crap but popped the crowd

Funny Jericho/Austin/Bischoff segment but no place on a ppv

HHH over Nash- imo better than judgement day- was a streetfight- Flair bled a gusher

Jeez guys, UK cards are never anything special. What do you expect?

I'd seen worse UK PPV's, but I've come to not expect too much from them...

I just got back from the show. It was good fun, but not great wrestling. Austin got a monster pop. A fat kid next to me stood up and shouted "YOU SUCK" during the main event....how right he was. Maven got a better pop than Nash...seriously.

Who did Maven wrestle?

Some German guy in a dark match.

JR and the King came out, then the Insurrextion video intro started - and the pyro went off as the first match started:

Jazz beat Trish to retain the Women's title after outside interference from Victoria and Teddy Long, who shoved Trish shoulder first into the ring post.

Christian beat Booker T to retain the IC title by pinning with his feet on the ropes. Booker did a spinaroonie and had the upper hand after a very slow start.

Austin backstage with Theodore Long. To cut it short, Austin puts Long in a six man with Nowinski and Mack against the three Dudleyz.

RVD and Kane beat La Resistance

Al Snow interviewed Goldust to hype the Goldust/Rico match

Goldust beat Rico with a powerslam.

Freddie Blassie tribute video aired. Plenty of loud "FREDDIE" chants from the Newcastle crowd, respecting a guy who most of them probably haven't seen wrestle. JR and King applauded the crowd (on screen too, apparantly) after the video.

Highlight Reel segment - Jericho comes out to a good pop, but that turns to heel heat after he put down the cheap set for his show, and Newcastle's failed Capital of Culture for 2008 bid (that title went to Liverpool).

He also made a few cheap remarks at the expense of local football/soccer team Newcastle United and its manager Bobby Robson (which I liked, since I support Sunderland - but that's by the by). Eric Bischoff comes out, and the pair continue a verbal barrage on Newcastle. Glass shatters, Austin comes out to a monster pop. Talks about how much beer he drank... then says he made the main event (Nash/HHH) a street fight. Jericho said a killer long line to the crowd ("if you want me to have a beer say...") and the three had a beer bath. Austin stunnered Jericho, before teasing a Stunner to Bischoff, before hitting it on his co-GM.

Dudley Boyz beat Rodney Mack, Theodore Long and Chris Nowinski

Scott Steiner beat Test with his Flatliner-like finisher

HBK (massive pop), Nash (none at first, then polite applause), and HHH (good pop) got their separate intros to the main event. HHH beat Nash in the street fight after a sledgehammer to the head, when Nash was distracted by Flair. Flair and HBK were sent to the back early on, but not before Flair started juicing. Flair returned late in the match with practically red hair from the blood loss. Usual shenanigans as Flair helped HHH, then HBK made the save before being laid out. The crowd started to leave after HHH's entrance, by the way.

Post show, Nash remained in the ring selling the sledgehammer shot. Shawn got in the ring with the trainers to help Nash up - a few people thought it was a legit injury, but Nash got to the back unassisted as Shawn and Nash posed on the ramp to close the show.

All in all, it was a good show - the wrestling wasn't much, but the entertainment was good. It probably didn't come across well on TV, what with all the lack of organisation and promotion for the event.

Well this is the first ppv i've missed since mid 1999 and to be honest i think i made the right choice.

I went up to Manchester for the last Brit ppv but then that had Angle/Benoit v Eddie and Chavo. Perhaps if flair was wrestling i would of ordered it or gone but thats the mark in me coming out
