Guest wrestlingbs Posted June 5, 2003 Report Posted June 5, 2003 I got this idea from VHI's 100 most shocking rock & roll moments (one of their many countdown shows). In this thread, we list and discuss some of wrestling's biggest real-life dramas. No storylines, no work-shoot angles, stuff that, to the best of our knowledge, really happened. Whether it be lockerroom confrontations (Arn Anderson vs. Sid), political games (pretty much everything HHH has done outside the ring), or actual crimes (Brian Lawler caught with drugs on the Canadian border). It doesn't all have to be negative, either. It can be anything, from the WWE(F), WCW, ECW, TNA, indies, even overseas. And their's no time limit (Go back to the WWWF days). I will start off- In WCW Kevin Sullivan books a shoot angle with his wife, Woman, in which she falls for Chris Benoit. Unfortunately for Kev, she actually falls for Benoit during the angle and leaves Sullivan for him.
Guest eiker_ir Posted June 5, 2003 Report Posted June 5, 2003 the Montreal Screw job, even if it has been discussed to death.
Guest Dynamite Kido Posted June 5, 2003 Report Posted June 5, 2003 Bruiser Brody being stabbed to death in Puerto Rico
The Dames Posted June 5, 2003 Report Posted June 5, 2003 HBK getting the shit kicked out of him in Syracuse. Dames
Mecha Mummy Posted June 5, 2003 Report Posted June 5, 2003 Russo shooting on Hogan and kicking him out of WCW.
Guest snuffbox Posted June 5, 2003 Report Posted June 5, 2003 Owen. David Schultz slapping John Stossel, Steroid trial, Duggan-Sheik arrest, Saito-Patera arrest.
Guest bravesfan Posted June 5, 2003 Report Posted June 5, 2003 Hulk Hogan testifying at the steroids trial of Vincent K. McMahon. (This was a BIG deal to fans back then - Hogan readily admitted to using and witnessing the use of steroids, which was shocking to *this* mark who had watched wrestling for a good portion of his life.)
Guest William E Posted June 5, 2003 Report Posted June 5, 2003 DDP getting his ass beat by Scott Stiener backstage.
Guest Dynamite Kido Posted June 5, 2003 Report Posted June 5, 2003 The gangland style murder of Dino Bravo
Guest wrestlingbs Posted June 5, 2003 Report Posted June 5, 2003 What was the deal with Bruiser Brody? I vaguely remember something about that.
Guest sean pyro Posted June 5, 2003 Report Posted June 5, 2003 The Mass Transit Incident What was the deal with Bruiser Brody? I vaguely remember something about that. http://inlewd.com/exclusives/tributes/brod.../b_brody2.shtml

Guest Big McLargeHuge Posted June 5, 2003 Report Posted June 5, 2003 Rob Black threatening to feed a puppy to a snake. It was pretty funny, no?
Guest Steviekick Posted June 6, 2003 Report Posted June 6, 2003 the squeegee wielding Sid Vicious taking on Brian Pillman
Guest humanoid92 Posted June 6, 2003 Report Posted June 6, 2003 Awesome idea for a thread... we really should try to come up with 100 of them. Anyway: Kerry Von Erich commits suicide (all the Von Erich tragedies) Miss Kitty exposes herself on PPV Hacksaw Jim Duggan and the Iron Shiek are busted for drugs shortly after WM 3 Jeff Jarrett holds Vince up for money at the end of his contract
Guest Steviekick Posted June 6, 2003 Report Posted June 6, 2003 • The Kliq incident at MSG • Everything that went wrong at WCW Souled Out 200 (In and out of the ring) • Miss Elizabeth's death
Guest ViciousFish Posted June 6, 2003 Report Posted June 6, 2003 HHH Necrophilia How could anyone miss this?
Guest Steviekick Posted June 6, 2003 Report Posted June 6, 2003 • Madusa trashing the WWF women's title on Nitro • WWF purchasing WWF • Jesse Ventura being elected as governer in Minnesota
Guest William E Posted June 6, 2003 Report Posted June 6, 2003 Goldberg retiring one of my favorite wrestlers of all time :
Guest nWoScorpion Posted June 6, 2003 Report Posted June 6, 2003 All the good stuff was taken. Damn it! in WWF touring Japan show, Earthquake was fighting Koji Kitao i think, and Kitao just started no sellnig everything. Thats kind of controversial since it's REALLY unprofessional, especially in japan.
Guest Big McLargeHuge Posted June 6, 2003 Report Posted June 6, 2003 Awesome idea for a thread... we really should try to come up with 100 of them. I'd be down for that. No doubt Owen's death or Montreal would take the #1 spot.
Guest Kid Kablam Posted June 6, 2003 Report Posted June 6, 2003 All the good stuff was taken. Damn it! in WWF touring Japan show, Earthquake was fighting Koji Kitao i think, and Kitao just started no sellnig everything. Thats kind of controversial since it's REALLY unprofessional, especially in japan. Or even Paul Roma no selling for Alex Wright would fit in there.
Guest JMA Posted June 6, 2003 Report Posted June 6, 2003 Ric Flair showing up with the NWA World heavyweight title on WWF TV. Helms beating up Bagwell. The WWE plane flight where everything went wrong. Mike Awesome leaving ECW for WCW when he was still champion. Davey Boy Smith's death. Edit: Forgot to include Pillman's death. Ironic that the PPV he never made it to was "Bad Blood." Not to mention the fact that he died before such a big event.
Mecha Mummy Posted June 6, 2003 Report Posted June 6, 2003 Would Goldust's feud with Razor where he took Ramon out of his game by flirting and lusting after him count as controversial?
Guest Fook_Hing_Ho Posted June 6, 2003 Report Posted June 6, 2003 Owendriver 97 Foley's bumps in HIAC HBK and Bret backstage fight
Guest DawnBTVS Posted June 6, 2003 Report Posted June 6, 2003 - ECW's "Crucifixion" angle between Raven & Sandman causing Raven to break out of character and apologize - ECW's lesbian angle between Beulah and Kimona Wanalaya(Controversial at the time at least)
Mecha Mummy Posted June 6, 2003 Report Posted June 6, 2003 The Shooting Brock Press at Mania. Jake Roberts shows up drunk at Heroes of Wrestling.
Guest Eric the Eagle Posted June 6, 2003 Report Posted June 6, 2003 The angle in England (I think) where King Kong Bundy was reported dead- and the papers picked it up and believed it. It even got to Norway.
Guest Mad the Swine Posted June 6, 2003 Report Posted June 6, 2003 Bischoff sues Flair in 1998. Backlund-Iron Sheik title switch. Sid Vicious-Arn Anderson It's not as much controversey, but it'd be pretty shocking: The two plane crashes of 1975. The one in Florida that killed Bobby Shane and the other in October that ends John Valentine's career and nearly Ric Flair's.
