Guest Lightning Flik Posted June 5, 2003 Report Posted June 5, 2003 The Smackdown Preview: "Things are going to change around here ... for the better!" What was Mr. McMahon talking about when he made those comments last week on SmackDown!? We'll find out tonight on the show, airing at 8 p.m./7 CT on UPN. One thing that we already know will "change for the better": Kurt Angle will be back! The Olympic gold medalist has recovered from neck and hamstring problems that have forced him out of action since WrestleMania XIX, when he lost the WWE Championship to Brock Lesnar. What will Angle have to say? Who and what will he set his sites on? How will the fans react to him? The Cruiserweight Championship will be on the line when Matt Hardy defends against Rey Mysterio. SmackDown! takes place in Anaheim, Calif., just up the road from Rey-Rey's hometown of San Diego, so Mysterio will have the decided "home-court advantage" over the champion. Zach Gowen is scheduled to be Roddy Piper's guest on Piper's Pit. Does "Hot Rod" have something up his sleeve? In other one-on-one action tonight, the Undertaker battles Chuck Palumbo, accompanied by the other members of FBI; and John Cena takes on Chris Benoit. In tag-team competition, Eddie Guerrero & Tajiri battle the newest tag team on SmackDown!, the Basham Brothers, in a non-title match; and Rikishi teams up with Torrie Wilson to take on Jamie Noble and Nidia. All this and much more on SmackDown!, airing at 8 p.m./7 CT tonight on UPN! NOTE: SmackDown! will not be seen at its regular time on WPSG in Philadelphia. Instead, catch it tonight beginning at 10 p.m. (time approximate, after baseball). _______________________________________________ The Match Listing (Non-Spoiling Of Course): SMACKDOWN Undertaker v.s. Chuck Palumbo Eddie Guerrero & Tajiri v.s. The Basham Brothers Chris Benoit v.s. John Cena Jamie Noble & Nidia v.s. Rikishi & Torrie Wilson Rey Mysterio v.s. Matt Hardy (Cruiserweight Title On The Line and Main Event) _______________________________________________ Someone had to create this, might as well do it for my second time~! Only two and a half hours away from starting time (at least for people who get The Score).
B. Brian Brunzell Posted June 5, 2003 Report Posted June 5, 2003 I've haven't been this excited for a wrestling show in AGES. How long until the WWF screws his return up?
Guest Lightning Flik Posted June 5, 2003 Report Posted June 5, 2003 King Kurt~! Don't you mean "One Kurt To Rule Them All"?

Guest Polish_Rifle Posted June 5, 2003 Report Posted June 5, 2003 I'm pretty stoked to watch this on tape tonight as well. It should be the best SD in quite some time.
Guest Ram Posted June 5, 2003 Report Posted June 5, 2003 Cruiserweight is the main? That's...a good thing, right? Sounds like a good show as long as the Hogan/Gowen/Vince stuff is little to none.
Guest Lightning Flik Posted June 5, 2003 Report Posted June 5, 2003 Sounds like a good show as long as the Hogan/Gowen/Vince stuff is little to none. Actually, I think it'll still take up 30 mins in total.
Guest Polish_Rifle Posted June 5, 2003 Report Posted June 5, 2003 You can definitely miss the first 20 minutes or so. Maybe the hockey game will still be on.
Guest Lightning Flik Posted June 5, 2003 Report Posted June 5, 2003 You can definitely miss the first 20 minutes or so. Maybe the hockey game will still be on. Don't you mean starting?

Guest Lightning Flik Posted June 5, 2003 Report Posted June 5, 2003 Just so that I can tell everyone whether this show is worth it or not matchwise, since I see it early than most. So I'll just give an opinion of the matches. Taker vs Palumbo for the first match: What's scary is this was entertaining... And no, I really haven't lowered my standards, it really is enjoyable.
Guest CanadianChris Posted June 5, 2003 Report Posted June 5, 2003 Not-really spoiler...this show is a must-see just for the Blassie tribute.
Guest Heavy As Hell Posted June 5, 2003 Report Posted June 5, 2003 Beautiful Freddie Blassie tribut video.
Guest Heavy As Hell Posted June 5, 2003 Report Posted June 5, 2003 I pray someone recorded that and will post a link to the capture for it.

Guest tpww7 Posted June 5, 2003 Report Posted June 5, 2003 Rizzo and Josh Barnett are having a hell of a fight here.
