Guest godthedog Posted June 9, 2003 Report Posted June 9, 2003 eh...'its a wonderful life' is my single favorite movie ever, & certainly one of the most beloved american movies of all time, but there's plenty of people who hate the capra-corn with a passion. lots of guys i know just can't get into it because it's so brazenly cheesy.
Guest Harry Hood Posted June 9, 2003 Report Posted June 9, 2003 ot tell you the truth, I liked rear window but the ending i thought left something to be desired. i also nominate die hard, the quintessential action movie
Guest The Amazing Rando Posted June 9, 2003 Report Posted June 9, 2003 I just said "Apocalypse Now" because I was running out of movies to say. but... I did mention A CHRISTMAS STORY first...
Guest godthedog Posted June 9, 2003 Report Posted June 9, 2003 yeah, it seems like a christmas story would be a good candidate. i've never seen it myself.
Guest MaxPower27 Posted June 9, 2003 Report Posted June 9, 2003 I like it. Other than Chasing Amy, it's my favorite Smith film
Guest The Amazing Rando Posted June 9, 2003 Report Posted June 9, 2003 my g/f actually said "I like Clerks...but it would be so much better in color" and then spent a half an hour asking me why it was b/w Dazed And Confused.
Guest WrestlingDeacon Posted June 9, 2003 Report Posted June 9, 2003 Clerks is ok, I think you need to be a Smith devotee to really love it. It's an average cheap indie flick at best with only the quirky script setting it apart.
Guest Ravenbomb Posted June 9, 2003 Report Posted June 9, 2003 if it's a horror movie you can pretty much guarantee that it's out of the running. Same thing with silent movies, but for different reasons. I've got a friend who didn't like Princess Bride because it was 'gay' Dead Alive SUUUUUUUUUCKED. One good scene (Kung-Fu Priest) surrounded by a lot of crap...not my idea of a good movie
B. Brian Brunzell Posted June 9, 2003 Report Posted June 9, 2003 I'd just like to say that Monty Python and the Holy Grail is the single greatest film ever made. That is all.
Guest Kahran Ramsus Posted June 9, 2003 Report Posted June 9, 2003 I didn't bother reading all the posts in this thread, but I don't remember ever hearing anybody say they didn't like Goldfinger. BTW, Kevin Smith movies suck. I understand their purpose, and I respect Smith, but I don't find them funny at all. Especially Chasing Amy & Mallrats.
Guest 5_moves_of_doom Posted June 9, 2003 Report Posted June 9, 2003 We're really not getting any good candiates anymore, aside from possibly Goldfinger, but I have a friend who doesn't like it too much, because he hates old action movies... not enough explosions of CGI, I guess. Ferris Beuller's Day Off A Christimas Story Christmas Vacation Those three are still the only ones on the list that haven't been shot down by someone... anyone care to try and not like any of them?
Guest hardyz1 Posted June 9, 2003 Report Posted June 9, 2003 5 pages with no mention of Office Space? Some random replies: I cried at the end of Homeward Bound. Dumb and Dumber is hilarious. :::marks out at the mention of The Stupids:::

I'm 50/50 on Bueller. Love Christmas Vacation Haven't seen a Christmas Story. Sorry if I missed it but has anyone shot down The Princess Bride? I've never heard anythign negative about it. Dumb and Dumber most people agree is hilarious. What about Die Hard?
Guest Kahran Ramsus Posted June 9, 2003 Report Posted June 9, 2003 I know people who don't like Dumb & Dumber.
Guest godthedog Posted June 10, 2003 Report Posted June 10, 2003 not to mention the fact that both deacon and i previously said we don't like 'dumb and dumber'.
TheOriginalOrangeGoblin Posted June 10, 2003 Report Posted June 10, 2003 Ahh ok sorry I didn't read through all the pages. Still what about Die Hard?
Guest DawnBTVS Posted June 10, 2003 Report Posted June 10, 2003 I'm also 50/50 on Ferris though really it depends on the mood I watch it in. Some days I'll love it and others I'll hate it. Loved A Christmas Story(Best X-Mas movie EVER) & Christmas Vacation
