Isn't the point of curtain jerking putting out more popular wrestlers not needed at the end of the show, and the popular wrestlers then get the crowd fired up from the start? And correct me if I'm wrong, but the crowd had already gone through Heat too.

 

RVD used to curtain jerk to get the crowd pumped up early for the show. They tried to do the same with Goldberg.

 

Or alternatively, they booked the show half an hour in advance, and Goldberg's match was the first to come up.

As for GOldberg...if they knew about problems such as this arising, then WHY did they hire him?  They sorta built their own version of Goldberg with Brock Lesnar, so WHY bother with the crappy prototype version?

I asked this before the word was out that he was officially signed.
