Football season is around the corner

I can't wait until the college and NFL seasons start. Now that basketball is over i must endure another summer with my beloved yet underacheiving Dodgers until the preseason starts.

Is there anything/anyone that your looking forward to this year in the pro and collegiate ranks?

I look forward to watching Jerry Jones' great expectations crumble again. Bring on another .500 season for the Cowgirls and how many QBs will start this year.

Must have Jimmy Kimmel pick of the week and mockery of Terry Bradshaw on a weekly basis!

I think the big question here is will the Bengals have the worst record in the league again.

I hope my Saints at least get to the playoffs this year and don't choke. I also looking for Deuce to have another good year (preferably better than Ricky Williams).

The Patriots should have a better year since their schedule isn't as murderous as it was last year. They seem to have improved the defense, but I still think the RB situation needs some work. If Antowain Smith fails the conditioning run AGAIN, I think there will be hell to pay.

Of course, this IS the NFL, so who knows what the hell is going to happen.

I don't know if Kimmel is still with Fox but he was the highlight of the show.

My expectations for the 2003-2004 NFL Season

Bengals get a winning recrd and earn a wild card (with my boy Carson starting)

Cowboys and Redskins battle for last pace in the NFC East

The Saints not to roll over the last 4 games of the season

Broncos go 0-16 (im a Raider fan, sue me)

Raiders win yet another AFC West title (4 in a row baybee)

The Patriots out of the playoffs.

The Eagles make the Super Bowl

The Bucs go 0-16 (in my dreams!)

Raiders vs Eagles in Super Bowl 38.

Lincoln Financial Field opening and the return of Correll Buckhalter (an actual RB) has me set for the season.

NO MORE RAY LUCAS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Did the Dolphins release that bum, yet?

Yup. Brian Griese is apparently his replacement (and in my opinion should replace Jay Fiedler)

As for me, I'm looking forward to the Packers once again having a great home record, upsetting a few 'Super Bowl favorites' (while losing a couple games they should have won) and then once again massively getting blown out in the playoffs. Seriously, 45-17 to the Rams in 2001, and then that godawful Falcons game last January. If Mike Sherman loses like that again, he might have some serious explaining to do concerning his playoff tactics, considering he's 1-2 in the postseason.

But yes I live and often times dream about football and I can't wait till the season starts. I am absolutely indifferent to baseball and I don't know much about hockey, so if for anything else, just to stop all this baseball/hockey fanatic talk going on here on the boards.

And the Raiders are ghey (and judging by your team faves, I'm guessing you're also from L.A...How could you love a team that left you high and dry for fucking OAKLAND?!)

Yeah, I agree with you on that.

He should replace Fiedler, no doubt about it.

Raider-hate, I love it!

I also agree, how can ANYONE in LA love the Raiders after they left them high and dry for Oakland?

Well wait, this is LA we're talking about, and we all know how they are down there.

You're a nobody, buddy. May Ricky Williams tear his quad in the preseason. The only redeeming factor of the Dolphins is Zach Thomas, and he only rocks because he went to Texas Tech.

Get this: the NFL is trying to get YET ANOTHER franchise in LA. Haven't they learned their damn lesson yet? People in LA won't go to NFL games, ESPECIALLY if the team sucks.

Actually Vitamin X, I was born in Los Angeles but moved to the Santa Clarita Valley two years ago. But thats not the point. A bunch of people in LA LOVE the Raiders but hate Al Davis which is understandable. I went ta lot of LA Raider games in the old Coliseum back in the day. Even though they moved almost 10 years ago (its been that long) and will always bn a fan. I tried to like the Chargers but the suck and i really hate them. I never liked the Rams.

People in LA want the NFL, but they are jaded thanks to the Rams and Raiders. We dont want another Al Davis or a Georgia Frontirere threating to move every 10 years. We dont want a shitty team from another market. We also dont want to be jerked around by the Coliseum commission everytime a good deal comes around. we also dont want a stadium to be built from money from the taxpayers. We want an expansion francise with a stadium built by private funds. Is that too much to ask.

To all you LA bashers, doubt smeof you even been down here, but we are very passionte about our sports. Its funny that outsiders can say what LA is all about. You guys say that we are wishy-washy. If so, why do the Dodgers average 3 million every single year. Why do the Lakers and Kings sell-out constantly? Even the Clippers. And dont give me the excuse that we sho up late. Try driving the 405, the 5 and the 10 freeways during rush hour. I just think you guys ar jealous because LA has such a rich sports tradition

The big problem concerning football in L.A. right now is where to put the team. For some insane reason the city wants the team to go into the Coliseum, where many people are actually SCARED to go to (bad part of town). It would also cost a pretty penny to renovate the Coliseum and the Rose Bowl as well. The NFL has also talked up a Carson site as well. The most exciting plan had a stadium in downtown, but they'd have to level a few buildings and I think the project was cancelled. So it might be a while before L.A. gets a team. Or soon, since some think that the Chargers moving their practice facility to Carson is the first step toward an eventual relocation to L.A..

As a Bengals fan, I can only hope that they won't have the worst record again, but I've learned to not set the bar high when it comes to Bengals expectations.

My question is, what will the NFL do with a 33rd team? A team would have to move to LA before they expand (or at least I hope)

Hell just make 36 teams, lets over-saturate!

Pacific Time Zone sucks just like the Lakers. Hey try to show up early for a Cowboys game is not an easy task either buddy, especially when idiots are driving down the shoulder of the freeway in their big ass gas suburbans or trucks.

Gert T, I believe Taglibue has said that any franchise that is considering moving will be strongly encouraged by the NFL to move to LA. Can't remember the exact wording, but pretty much if a team moves the NFL wants that team moving to LA. So no, no oversaturation yet. Or no further oversaturation.

I'm JACKED up for football this fdall. I'm hoping Tressel's boys can repeat. We still have Krenzell and Clarett, not to mention Chris Gamble.

I'm also hoping for good things out of the Bears and the Steelers. The Bears REALLY need a good year after last years disaster.

I get especially hyped for the NFL season once Madden is released. When that game comes out, you just KNOW the NFL is right around the corner.
