In my opinion its good, and can be used to elevate young talent. However I believe they should have created a new title... from scratch and build it up as they have done to the Smackdown tag titles.

Guest Austin3164life Posted June 12, 2003 Report Posted June 12, 2003 I think the U.S. Title coming back is a good thing, because it gives mid-carders something else to strive for besides the WWE World Title. Since they obviously don't want to push Benoit, and they're depushing Cena (not to mention both of them are working the house shows together), they could have a tournament for Vengeance to crown the new U.S. Champ. It'd be great to see Benoit vs. Cena in the finals, with Benoit going over. Bejamin and Haas could also go for it, and if Matt Hardy moves away from the Cruiser division (to make way for Ultimo), he could also go for it. Rhyno also seems to be feuding with Benoit, so they could possibly tear it up to see who gets the belt. There are good possibilities. Who am I kidding though. We'll see A-Train vs. *insert hoss here* for that particular strap.

I like the US title, but I would like to see them get rid of the cruiserweight title if they are going to do it. I would let cruiserweights in on the US title feuds and feud amongst themselves for it without the cruiser label. But I know that without the cruiserweight belt the only purpose the cruisers would have is to be fed to Albert by their logic.

I'd get rid of the cruisers belt and restore the old ic titles unspoken rule that guys who've held the World title can't be champ I actually think it's a way of getting the cruisers over as equals if they do it properly

Too many singles titles is never a good thing. The one good thing to come out of this is that they were smart enough not to bring back the TV title. I hate that title more than I hate HHH, HBK and Goldberg combined. BTW, F.G.B.

Anyways, a tournament is the way to go. SmackDown! seems different than RAW in a way, whereas the SD! roster has more of a wrestling theme to its show and showcases more gifted competitors. With the success of last Fall's Tag Team Tournament, there's no doubt that the United States Title should be fought for in the same way. But one slight alteration. It shouldnt be a Tournament that has televised matches each week, and leads to the Finals on PPV. It should be a one-night deal, and it should be at the 1st ever SmackDown! only PPV: Vengence. The PPV doesnt have to be centered around the entire tournament like in past PPV's, such as WMIV and Survivor Series 98. Other matches can be included in the show too. The WWE Title match, the Cruiserweight Title match and maybe even the Tag Titles match could take place as well. But overall, the Main Event should be the Tournament Finals and crowning the NEW United States Champion, presented by Stephanie herself. My idea for the Tournament: FIRST ROUND Chris Benoit vs A-Train Matt Hardy vs Spanky John Cena vs Johnny Stamboli Rhyno vs Sean O'Haire SECOND ROUND Chris Benoit vs Matt Hardy John Cena vs Rhyno FINALS Chris Benoit vs Rhyno WINNER Chris Benoit

I hate that title more than I hate HHH, HBK and Goldberg combined. I like the idea of a TV title. I think it would be good to know that every week there will be a championship match. Of course knowing them they would book title changes every two weeks or so. Either that or give Albert a 6 month title reign.

Make Cena's win a big deal. I'm NOT advocating a Rikishi/Cena feud, but since Rikishi hardly jobs for some reason, I think it would be a good way to keep Cena with some heat in a tourney. Dames
