Guest Trivia247 Report post Posted June 12, 2003 After the recent signings of Horshu, Carly Colon and Aaron Stevens to WWE developmental contracts, it now appears that they've signed yet another indy talent. Word has now arisen that the company has signed New York Wrestling Connection Champion Livewyre, who will be soon be headed to OVW for training. The announcement of Livewyre's signing was made at a NYWC show this past weekend, where he won the company's Heavyweight Title. (Thanks to 411Mania.com) -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- "Stone Cold" Steve Austin will most likely not be appearing at Monday's RAW, which is the first show following the Bad Blood PPV, in order to attend the Upfronts for Spike TV. The plan at this point is to use Mick Foley as Eric Bischoff's antagonist on the show, a spot that is normally filled by Austin. Austin was in attendance for the Spike TV launch party, which included several celebrities such as Kelsey Grammer, Pamela Anderson, Carmen Electra, Fred Durst, Ice-T, and Busta Rhymes. (Thanks to WrestlingObserver.com) As was reported several days ago, The Basham Brothers have added a valet to their act. The valet is none other than Tough Enough II winner Lina Miles, who will apparently be known as "Shaniqua". The death of "Classy" Freddie Blassie was mentioned in the latest issue of Time Magazine. Blassie is one of the very few wrestlers to be mentioned in the popular magazine. Trish Stratus will be appearing at the Much Music Video Awards on June 22nd. Help HBK raise money for soldiers' families On Monday, June 23, Shawn Michaels, Stone Cold Steve Austin, Goldberg, Triple H, Kevin Nash, Ric Flair and Trish Stratus will be signing autographs at FYE in New York City’s Rockefeller Center. All proceeds from this signing -- and from six subsequent autograph sessions in cities across the U.S. -- will help provide scholarships to children of soldiers killed in Iraq and Afghanistan. Guest Anglesault Report post Posted June 12, 2003 Will they explain why this woman who has always been "Linda" will now be Shaniqua? It wouldn't be so bad if it was someone else getting a new name, but we all saw this woman for however many weeks on TE2. Unless, of course, they are using the "they all look alike" principal and hoping we don't notice?

Guest Trivia247 Report post Posted June 13, 2003 # there was a ton of heat on WWE writer Ed Koskie for his booking of the InsurreXtion Pay-Per-View. Brian Gewirtz, who is the regular head writer for the RAW brand, did not make the trip overseas for some unknown reason, which left Koskie in charge of the PPV. The script for the show was changed several times throughout the day, which left Koskie as the scapegoat for what many felt was a very unorganized mess. While most believe that Koskie isn't up to the task of handling the burden of booking an entire PPV, the consensus among many is that Gewirtz should have made the trip, especially since it was actually the very first RAW-exclusive PPV event. # Although many were surprised that Vince McMahon agreed to let Mick Foley return despite trashing the company during several radio interviews, the consensus is that Foley can basically say whatever he wants since he doesn't have to worry about his long-term financial security. If not for his immense popularity with WWE fans, it's unlikely that McMahon would have forgiven him for the remarks. # Vince McMahon is the person behind the concept of the "White Boy Challenge" matches. (Thanks to The Pro Wrestling Torch Newsletter) # There has been talk of possibly holding off on the Brock Lesnar vs. Kurt Angle rematch that was originally scheduled to take place at Summer Slam. The feeling among officials is that it's bad enough that the decision was made to have the two square off at Vengeance (the first Smackdown-only PPV in July), because the same match will likely be the SMackdown brand's main event at WrestleMania XX. # The latest on Paul Heyman's is that he will most likely return as an on-screen character before the end of the summer. He has been suggesting for quite some time that John Cena work as the mouthpiece of a heel stable that would feud with Kurt Angle and Brock Lesnar. However, Kurt Angle, Brock Lesnar, and Vince McMahon all agree that Heyman should be the person to fill that role. (Thanks to The Pro Wrestling Torch Newsletter) # Brian Gewirtz is the person behind the recent pushes of The Hurricane, Christian, and Christopher Nowinski. # The television debut of Nicole Fink, who wrestles in OVW as Nikita, has been pushed back yet again. Officials are said to be very impressed with her abilities and even had her show up with the intention of starting her on TV only to change the plans at the last minute. # Many in WWE were laughing at the company's decision to sign Horshu and Aaron Stevens to developmental contracts. When it comes to Horshu, the accusation being made is that someone in the office must have owed him a favor due to his unimpressive in-ring abilities. When it comes to Stevens, his rep is that he's not big, isn't a good worker, and doesn't have a superstar look. With all the outstanding indy talent on today's market, it makes you wonder who makes these decisions and what they've been smoking. (Thanks to The Pro Wrestling Torch Newsletter) # Steve "Dr. Death" Williams has told friends that he has received a contract offer from WWE. # Steven Richards missed the trip to the U.K. because he was experiencing neck pain. He attempted to get in touch with Jim Ross and Johnny Ace in the days leading up to the tour, but was unsuccessful. He actually ended up going to the airport to explained the situation to them. The decision was made to send him home and have Al Snow take his place as Maven's opponent at house shows. # Many wrestlers are said to be very frustrated with how Vince McMahon and the writing staff justify not putting effort into pushing the mid-card wrestlers. Their excuse is that insert name here isn't going to be the next Rock, so why bother pushing him, which is an absolutely ridiculous reason. (Thanks to The Pro Wrestling Torch Newsletter) # he Kurt Angle video package that aired on last week's Smackdown was produced by production staff member Adam Penucci. Kurt was so impressed with the piece that he actually called Penucci personally to thank him. # Many were laughing at Kevin Nash based on his promo at RAW two weeks ago, where he hyped Bad Blood as being two weeks away when it was actually three weeks before the event. While everyone makes mistakes occasionally, the general feeling is that Nash hasn't been asked to do much on RAW as of late, so he could've at least made sure he got the date of the PPV right. # Rey Mysterio vs. Ultimo Dragon for the WWE Cruiserweight Title will most likely take place at Summer Slam. Guest Coffey Report post Posted June 13, 2003 (edited) # Brian Gewirtz is the person behind the recent pushes of The Hurricane, Christian, and Christopher Nowinski. WTF? The Hurricane hasn't had a PPV match since KotR 2002. Christian, I believe, has yet to win a match as IC champ. Not to mention he cheated to get it in the first place...in a fucking battle royal. Nowinski means dick. He does nothing but hit people with a plastic mask. How are any of these pushes? Hurricane gets a pedigree and Christian gets a jackhammer and suddenly that's a push? Ok, so I guess the three have gotten a lot more TV time lately, so is TV time what determines pushes now? So, does that mean that people on Heat have been de-pushed? I guess it makes sense, but it just seems like these "tibits" never really tell us anything that everyone on the forums haven't already been talking about for three days.
