In the latest Observer, Meltzer does a big article about the Goldberg situation and to sum it up both parties are unhappy.Goldberg with how he is being booked and WWE wanting to get out of the huge contract (1.5 million) they gave him.

I wouldent be shocked to see him gone by Summerslam,as i cant see them putting the belt on him know or HHH doing the job to him.My bet for the Summerslam main event would be HHH vs Sting.

I'd laugh if he was gone by SummerSlam. It would just make it obvious that WWE screwed up BIG TIME yet again.

So there really was no point in Goldberg's signing. *Sigh*

And so, HHH will go over him.

You know what this means, don't you?

There will be NO-ONE apart from maybe Brock Lesnar, who can be a credible threat to HHH. No-one. Not one fucking person in the wrestling world.

I think they will want HHH to go over but Goldberg will say no leading to him walking out or being fired.

Goldberg's WWE career was pretty much botched from the get-go. A lot of the WWE fans didn't watch WCW. Thus, a lot of the people didn't know who he was. Nobody watches Confidential, so anything that they showed of Goldberg on there didn't matter. They should've built him up before he showed up on screen. A video package, some WCW footage, a sit-down interview...whatever. Instead he just shows up...and "The Rock is next!"

Alright, whatever.

So, then Rock & Goldberg fight...and the match is a snore fest. Not because Goldberg sucks. It was because the match was UNDER booked. Each man only did like 3-4 moves. Sure, you can joke that each man only has 3-4 moves, but that's just not true. The Rock spent the whole match running away, and Goldberg spent the whole match just waiting for him to come back. That's not an exciting equation when it comes to a wrestling match. Still, Goldberg wins the match, and at least a few people had to think "I don't know who he is, but he beat the Rock..."

So, how does the WWE capitilize on this? Sending some cannon fodder to Goldberg. He takes out random 3MW. Who cares about 3MW, let alone Rosie in particular? Does anyone? I can truely say that I've never met a Rosie mark.

So, then what happens? Goldberg gets into a program with Jericho. That's awesome. Jericho can help carry Goldberg in the ring. Jericho can get the match over with his promo skills. Goldberg can get over with his power over Jericho. Instead, we get Jericho taking out Goldberg and running away. Goldberg not really giving chase...and last but not least, we get Goldberg trying to retaliate on the stick with Jericho...whom is obviously leaps and bounds better than him. UHG!

Despite ALL of that, the PPV match at Badd Blood still could turn out ok. A lot of the "heat" is from WCW, and that's only to the fans that either watched WCW, or read the net.

Bottom line is this: Goldberg's name is what got him his money from the WWE. He got his name in WCW. So, basically, WWE paid for a WCW created star...and expected WCW results. Well, it doesn't work like that when you're not WCW. Also, Goldberg isn't corrupt due to being "fuck Goldberg," he's corrupt due to the WWE, yet again, failing to capitalize on a good situation. Ball after ball gets dropped. Opportunity after opportunity gets lost.

Eventually, either Goldberg will shine, or he won't. Both depend not on just Goldberg, but the machine that is the WWE creative.

Actually, they did get WCW results. Once he lost to Nash, Goldberg never did anything of worth there either.

The Rock put Goldberg over though.....oh yea, the Rock puts everyone over. If Triple H woulda put Goldberg over within the first month, things would be going better. The Rock has jobbed to everyone and their dog.

Actually, they did get WCW results. Once he lost to Nash, Goldberg never did anything of worth there either.

I think the reason for that, though, is because his unbeaten streak (which was one of the key parts of his rise to stardom in WCW) was broken in the stupidest way imaginable (taser) and only compounded with the even worse "loss" of the belt to Hogan. Had Nash (or more likely some far superior heel wrestler) done a 2 or 3 month program leading to a match in which Goldberg lost the belt in an interesting and believable run in/ interference at the end of a titanic battle THEN Goldberg may have had the credibility to remain the top of WCW. Of course, they didn't do that at all.

As far as the WWE goes, Mr. Jago hits it right on the head. It seems the problem with WWE Creative is that they seem to think they know where the strengths of the wrestlers lie when they really don't. What really frustrates me is that they are not trying to write the next Robert Ludlum or James Patterson book or Quentin Tarantino movie. IT'S A FRICKIN' WRESTLING SHOW! How stupid do you have to be to write a bad wrestling show??? It boggles the mind...oh well thats my semi-rant. Now to go stick pins in my HHH vodoo doll...

In the end, we all get what we deserve.

Goldberg gets the frustration of buying into his own hype, not having things go his way, and possibly leaving the wrestling world as insignificant as when he left the first time.

WW_ gets egg thrown in their collective face for hiring an untalented primadonna, knowing his less-than-stellar track record, and not having it pay off.

The anti-Goldberg smarks get the satisfaction of saying "I told you so" to all those who defended the big green asshole.

The marks who believed in the hype, paid to see a top-level performer, and didn't get their money's worth… they get my sympathy.

Second verse, same as the first… F.G.B.

Rock didn't put Goldberg over for sh*t. He buried him in promos, and then had a total sh*tfest of a match which was not booked AT ALL to get Goldberg over. It should have been ROCK OFFENSE, GOLDBERG NO SELL for ten minutes max. Instead it was ROCK, STALL, ROCK, STALL,

Oh, boo-hoo...Goldberg was booked like crap (join the fucking club, Billy), but he got a huge contract and barely has to do ANY work at all. He doesn't have to work house shows, and rarely even TV matches. He refused to try to improve his ring work, and he can't cut promos. He had to have creative control and be pushed huge rather than pushed slowly. I think if they built him up slowly they'd have had a chance, but they've blown it.

I have no sympathy for Goldberg. Don't let the door hit ya in the ass on the way out, Bill.

i'd wouldn't even mind them putting the belt on FGB if it means releasing it from HHH deathgrip, provided someone Beats FGB without the use of a Tazer.

Goldberg need to shut the fuck up and stop whining, he isn't in cushy WCW anymore, he is in WWE now, which can be just as bad, but not as bad.

I knew Goldberg would fail even if they booked him strong. The WWE fans (most of whom didn't watch WCW because Vince told them not to) don't buy a monster who goes over the entire roster anymore (which is why Triple H is getting X-Pac heat at times). Beating a large number of workers in squashes doesn't symbolize "larger than life" anymore. Sure, Goldberg isn't the type of character to "fight his way back" in a match, but that's the main reason Vince should not have called him. Fans want to see something new and innovative, and Goldberg is the exact opposite. After they pulled the plug on his streak with Nash going over, Goldberg's character figuretively started dying that night, and it led to the stupid heel turn which topped everything off. Sure, people bought Brock Lesnar as a monster in his first run as Champion, but he lost due to reasonable interference, and his opponents got a decent amount of offense in the matches.

Main point: Fans don't buy Goldberg anymore. He isn't worth the time and money invested into him.

I was one of those who thought if Bill was booked right, he could've started a resurgence for wrestling's popularity. But now, you've got Linda McMahon calling him a disappointment, etc. etc. And they are still gonna let him run over Jericho, who in my opinion, could be the biggest star in the business right now. Good ol WWE logic.
