This can't end well.

I missed most of Smackdown last night, because I wasn't interested in the show.

When I finally got around to turning it on, Kurt Angle was pretending to kick dirt at Charlie Haas.

Oh Well, I've already given up on the serious face push for Angle, so no biggie.

BUT

After the commercial, TA beat up Kurt. I'm assuming that since Kurt has no real ally with Brock being busy with the Fatass that they refuse to job, this will lead to a handicapped match..

WHY?

Nothing is more annoying than watching one guy beat a tag team, especially when they are top contenders for the belts or the champions.

I didn't like when Kane did it, I didn't like when Orton did it, I didn't like when Brock did it 75 times, and I'm not going to like it with Kurt now.

Is there a way to build this guy up WITHOUT sacrificing a tag team for him? Please? I know there is, but this lazy ass booking team just sucks.

This can't end well.

I'm quite confused as to what Angle is supposed to be doing. He's being booked as a face yet still is quite heelish in his actions. Plus having Lesnar and Show involved just confuses me more. This hasn't been a good return.

Love and Mercy.

The babyface "I'm just a good guy and dont swear and make up funny words to cover for it" Kurt Angle bores the hell out of me.

His run with Austin in 2001 was awesome because:

1) Austin can sell a good angle

2) Angle was booked like a hero: never backing down to a challenge, never giving up, kicking out of finishers, showing a serious side to his mic-skills, was booked to be a leader.

Of course, when The Rock returned, he looked like a doofus again. What can make Angle a great face?

For starters, NOT having him be beat like a Pussy every week.

(This week wouldn't be so bad if not for the inexcusable Big Show situation last week)

I liked Angle face in 2001, he had an edge. If he adopted the persona he had then (a little more badass) then he would be more than OK.

As for the Tag Team angle, get Kurt a partner, a cruiserweight if you must. Just make it seem like Team Angle are a powerful entity and Kurt couldn't beat them on their own.

Now that they left Kurt I'd like to see Team Cena...or Team Benoit (if he goes heel)

Team (wrestler name) doesn't work for me. I think they need something a bit more original, even if they are going to hook up with a new mentor.

from just before invasion till summerslam, face angle was perfect. after that, they tried to turn him into another steve austin & it just fell flat on its face.

the key to angle's success as a face is intensity. anything that detracts from that (i.e., goofy comedy shit) or has him trying to be austin needs to go.

Face Angle 2001 was fine until they had him come out as Undertaker's partner with a goofy moped and stupid looking hat. At that moment, all badassness Kurt had going for him was sucked away by Vince and Creative Co.

From what I've seen, there is nothing to imply that anything else will be much different.

That video gave so much hope.

Yeah, but what would be a good name? Just "Charlie Hass and Shelton Benjamin"? "Hass and Benjamin"? "The Revolution"?

I'm not nitpicking, but wasnt that 2000?

All the same, lame-o booking.

I really can't see Team Angle turning into TEAM CENA since I don't like the idea of seeing Benjamin "an world class athelete" in jeans and Masterlock chains...

Haas and Benjamin is a good team that can go far...

Do they need a name? Not really but it looks better

Didnt Benjamin wear jeans and chain in OVW...he was a thug there. Anyway, Benjamin is fine the way he is and i agree with the Angle return....even though i missed last weeks episode cause i was on vacation, that kicking dirt bit, and singing was corny as hell. It was just so cheesy and lame. Why cant this guy be a badass without being an ass

True, the Milkman was one of those really lame moments.

Revolution sucks. And the WWE isn't very creative coming up with team/stable names these days. Even "Team Angle" is very generic, but Angle happens to have a name perfect for wrestling.

I'm calling it now:

Angle keeps up the face routine until the Fastlane PPV, where Team Angle interferes to help him beat Brock.

Team Spanky with Angle. I'd enjoy it.

Huh?

Spanky's a face. And Haas and Benjamin are higher than "Team Spanky"

The internet likes to create the illusion that Kurt Angle is a good face.

Kurt has never (and probably never will be) a good babyface. Everytime it sucks. He is booked badly, he doesn't look comfortable doing it, he doesn't play the role well, he doesn't suit it and people love to hate him.

Babyface Kurt=bad.

Some also like to create the illusion that Jericho could play a good babyface in WWE....*sigh*....I'd like to never see the return of "Would you please....SHUT, the HELL, UP?!" for a long time.

Jericho was super over, though. At least he didn't get the crowd to chant "You Suck".

Kurt has always been booked bad, heel or babyface. They just have to stop making him goofy.

Haas should suggest the name "Team Haas" and Benjamin should say, "No, I think Team Benjamin sounds better." and they should argue about it until they run into Al Snow in the hallway and he suggests that they resurrect the name "Head Cheese."

Kurt is over enough and charismatic enough to be a great face, it's just that what he's told to say/do is practically retarded (all of the goofball segments).
