Yuna_Firerose Posted July 4, 2003 Report Posted July 4, 2003 Arc The Lad: Twilight of Spirits. Is that any good? I was thinking about getting it when I was at Family Video, then decided not to save my money.
Guest fazzle Posted July 5, 2003 Report Posted July 5, 2003 Arc The Lad: Twilight of Spirits. Is that any good? I was thinking about getting it when I was at Family Video, then decided not to save my money. Si. I'd put it about 8.75 out of 10. Only lower because of how cliched alot of the story elements are. But even with the cliches, they manage to tell it very well.
Conspiracy_Victim Posted July 5, 2003 Report Posted July 5, 2003 Another Arc the Lad player here. As an RPG fan I like it. Yeah it's kind of cliched in parts but it's very well told. Plus the split storylines are a good addition. Finally, the battle system does a good job of mixing strategic elements. I'd go 8.5-9/10.
Guest tpww7 Posted July 5, 2003 Report Posted July 5, 2003 Return to Castle Wolfenstein over X-Box Live. Best game in months.

Guest KoR Fungus Posted July 6, 2003 Report Posted July 6, 2003 Just bought Tekken 1 (hey, it was $4, and it completes my set) and Einhander at EB yesterday. Tekken 1 is interesting, it's neat seeing how far things have come. Einhander is totally awesome, I imagine I'll be addicted to it for the next couple weeks. Space shooters own.

Guest Sakura Posted July 8, 2003 Report Posted July 8, 2003 Just bought Tekken 1 (hey, it was $4, and it completes my set) Tekken 1 is interesting, it's neat seeing how far things have come. Did you get it in the long box? I still have my copy from 1995. I bust it out every 5 months or so just for nostalgia. It's funny how at the time I marked out hardcore over how cool the FMV was and now it's really lame. Is this your first time playing it or did you sell an old copy or something a while ago and just now buying it again? The damage juggles do is hilarious. WGF, 1, WGF = brutal. Anyway, I am playing Mortal Kombat for Sega CD as I type this.
Guest T®ITEC Posted July 8, 2003 Report Posted July 8, 2003 I've been playing Morrowind (The Elder Scrolls III) on my PC like a mofo. I've found that it's extra fun when "God Mode" is turned on; that way, you take absolutely no damage. There's nothing like wiping out entire cities of people and selling their stuff. Of course, there's my other saved game, in which I play legitimately. I haven't gotten nearly as far in that one...

All EB had was the lame Greatest Hits copy, so that's what I had to get. It's my only Greatest Hits game, so it's quite the eyesore. Oh well. This is the first time I've played it. Tekken 2 was the game that got me into the series, and I'd never bothered to go back until now. I particularly like the unescapable throws, and how they do like 40% damage. Throw, d4 takes off half life. It's great. The juggle timing's all weird though, it's like there's a delay after you hit a move before it lets you do another one. Just getting wgf,wgf was really hard. I guess it should be, since it takes over half life if it hits. And Paul's deathfist... 65% damage on counterhit. Ugh. Playing it definitely gave me a new appreciation for Tekken 2. Best sequel ever...
Guest Ripper Posted July 8, 2003 Report Posted July 8, 2003 Virtual Fighter 3tb for Dreamcast Just played yesterday to see if I still had it. It took a while but yeah...still got it. My team of Sarah, Lion and Pai are the undefeatable squad.
Guest Sakura Posted July 8, 2003 Report Posted July 8, 2003 Playing it definitely gave me a new appreciation for Tekken 2. Best sequel ever... Yeah, it does. Though I find Tekken 2 to be almost as dated as T1 now. Tekken 3 is getting to be that way too. Try doing a throw after launching someone. It's funny, the grabbing animation like juggles them. WTF is with that metal crap on Kuma's chest? It's funny that Kunimistu is seemingly male in the first. Noticed the music in the first returns in Tekken 2?
