Guest NoSelfWorth Posted June 17, 2003 Report Posted June 17, 2003 If it is someone with star power why not say in advance to get the buys. Because Russo et al are obsessed with surprising people, and trying to pop the crowd. That wouldn't be so bad, but they do it at the expenses of potential buys.
Guest newblood03 Posted June 17, 2003 Report Posted June 17, 2003 Yeah I wouldn't be suprised if they did bring someone is as a suprise to further the anythign can happen in TNA.
Guest Zack Malibu Posted June 17, 2003 Report Posted June 17, 2003 Yeah I wouldn't be suprised if they did bring someone is as a suprise to further the anythign can happen in TNA. Uh, dude...the whole POINT of this thread is the fact that we know it's a surprise. We're trying to guess WHO.
Guest the 1inch punch Posted June 17, 2003 Report Posted June 17, 2003 I'd love it if it was Lance Storm. After what happened on Raw, I'd love it if he left and joined TNA. Could you imagine a shoot promo from a guy like him? Plus TNA would suit his wrestling style and ability, and he could get over. The WWE were smart enough to slpa Raven with a gag order. If they were to relaese anyone high profile (although, at this point saying Storm is high profile is disputable), i think, in these times, theyd be gagged aswell. Saying That, Kevin Nash WASNT on Raw, and IS pissed at his treament
Guest ShawnTybalt Posted June 18, 2003 Report Posted June 18, 2003 I'm hoping for Scott Hall. I miss that cool ol' dumb drunk.
Guest The Decadent Slacker Posted June 18, 2003 Report Posted June 18, 2003 Worst case scenario is it's Beaver Cleavage No, worst case scenario is if Sting were to no show. Say McMahon's signed him on the secret, told him to screw over TNA...Sting doesn't show up, TNA have to find a replacement, and it'd make them look pretty damn small time. Having said that, it's not likely. But that'd be the worse case scenario. That or Russo under the mask of the Black Scorpion. Yeah that would kinda hamper TNA, wouldn't it? I doubt that it'd happen, since Sting seems like one of the VERY few top level guys who wouldn't screw a promotion around like that. If he no showed, it'd be something like missing a plane. But, then who replaces sting? the answer is simple: Sting...former frontman of the Police. You want to piss a crowd off with a swerve, that's it. that or Windham bringing out the old Sting gear from Halloween Havoc. But the more i think about it, the more it comes clear that the mystery guy will be the guy we least expect, no matter who it is. I mean, we can talk all day about it being Raven, but the day comes & it's fucking Bruno Sammartino. that's where i've gotta hand it to Russo: he's got a big yet twisted imagination. i am getting the feeling it's going to be someone who is either in a hood to be revealed at the very end of the show, or it's someone who won't show up until the end of the match, a la Bash At The Beach '96. it better fucking mean something, & not end up being Jamal or Buchanan or anyone like that. Savage or Warrior would be perfect, but logic says it's Hardy or Raven or maybe Kid Kash (only because i love the guy & his character REEKS of Russo, in that good way).
Guest BoboBrazil Posted June 18, 2003 Report Posted June 18, 2003 No way it is Savage. He is asking an insane price. I heard he wanted $200,000 just to appear once for WWA and that wasn't even to wrestle.
Guest The Decadent Slacker Posted June 18, 2003 Report Posted June 18, 2003 Well, i guess it depends on how "big" TNA wants it to be. I just love the Macho Man, so my view is skewed a tad on him. But yeah, i doubt he'd appear if for no other reason than the Asylum is kinda on the small side. Is it bigger than Viking Hall? it probably is, but just curious. Anyway, it's probably not Savage. My top picks are still Vader or Warrior. yeah, they said Vader most likely wouldn't make a return to TNA, but they said the same about Sabu, so who knows. i do remember wayyy back they didn't get Warrior for the first show because he like wanted 15% ownership of the company or something. but whatever. i'm sure i'll mark whoever it is, barring Arquette or Chaz Warrington
Guest The Son of Sting Posted June 18, 2003 Report Posted June 18, 2003 Isnt Vader on a WJ tour at the moment?
Guest The Son of Sting Posted June 18, 2003 Report Posted June 18, 2003 No one has mentioned Steve Corino.
Guest BoboBrazil Posted June 18, 2003 Report Posted June 18, 2003 Dave Meltzer says the original plan was for Raven to be the mystery guy. They'll probably stick with that.
Guest nWoScorpion Posted June 18, 2003 Report Posted June 18, 2003 If they follow up with the WWA PPV. it might be Rick Steiner. He cost Sting the title in his match versus Jarrett.
Guest BoboBrazil Posted June 18, 2003 Report Posted June 18, 2003 It better not fucking be Rick Steiner.
Guest NoSelfWorth Posted June 18, 2003 Report Posted June 18, 2003 Knowing Russo, it will turn out to be someone who makes no sense from any storyline perspective. Of course, the important thing is it will surprise people.
Guest DarkHollywood Posted June 18, 2003 Report Posted June 18, 2003 If it's Steiner Im not ordering TNA again! (Did the same thing when Raven lost on 4/30 and I havn't watched since)
Guest the 1inch punch Posted June 18, 2003 Report Posted June 18, 2003 Dont think it'll be him, he's acted like an aasshole everytime theyve used him
