Reason why Triple H/Goldberg match was delayed

The HHH/Goldberg match, originally scheduled for Bad Blood, and now expected to take place at Summerslam, is still being advertised on cable stations this weekend. The reasoning WWE officials gave for postponing the match was that they did not feel as if Goldberg was over enough.

But Nash is over?

I don't know if this is true, but the sentiment might be right. If Goldberg really over enough to be champ?

And I mean in a semi-deal sense. Not in a "For Christ's Sake Get the Belt Off HHH and On To Anybody Else" kind of way.

I figure Triple H wants to job to Nash and then continue the fued for a few more weeks since they have 2 months until Summerslam. Triple H will win back the title 3 weeks before Summerslam from Nash on Raw and then it gives Triple H and the WWE "officials" 2 weeks to give Goldberg a weak build up for the Championship going into the PPV.

It's all part of the master plan by God All Mighty himself.

Maybe, I don't know, GIVING HIM A REAL PUSH would have helped.

Judgement Day (headlined by Nash v. HHH)

did a better buyrate then Backlash (Goldberg v. Rock)

So in a way Nash is more over

HHH is smart. He thinks if he can keep delaying the match Goldberg will eventually be gone and he won't have to job.

Considering the Cripps/Nash match actually got a main event build, and the Goldberg/Rock match was treated as virtual afterthought, it's no surprise.

Buyrates are what make the company money. So Nash main eventing a show makes more money then Goldberg.

They both are awful and should not be in WWE at all- But I just find that humorous.

I wouldn't go and credit Triple H/Nash for Judgement Day having a better buy rate. JD was all around built better then Backlash.

Backlash; Cena Vs Lesnar

Judgement Day; Lesnar Vs Big show in a gimmick match

I can't remember the whole cards but JD also had the return of the IC title and the Smackdown tag belts in a ladder match.

Backlash was hyped around a "dream" match- one we'd thought we'd never see BAH GAWD.

Goldberg's first match in North America more then two years- Given how over and how big of a superstar he's supposed to be- You would think he'd be able to sell a show.

I guess one *dream* match doesn't sell a shit card.

No one is over enough to take the belt away from Hunter.

I mean if RVD is not over enough, who is?

Hopefully they learned their lesson.

Oh wait...

I have no idea.

Early estimates for the buy rate of WWE Judgment Day are between 400,000 and 500,000 buys. Backlash had similar early estimates, but came in lower, around 300,000 buys. If Judgment Day holds up in that range, it would be considered a success.

I found it quite funny reading the back of the WMXIX DVD box.

"Sunday, March 30, 2003: 54,097 fans fill SAFECO Field in Seattle, Washington:

"Is this really the end of Hulkamania? Will Austin make it 3 for 3? Can Booker best "The Game?" Can Kurt Angle take the pain?"

The answers: No, no, HUGE NO, and no.

The "World Title" is never given to "over" wrestlers anyway. It's given to over-the-hill wrestlers.

I agree...he's only 3 times more over then HHH. He should be 4 or 5 before the match starts (and I'm not even a Goldbergfan)

It's probably so HHH can drop the belt to his buddy Nash, then do a job to Goldberg while keeping the title in the Clique.

Why is Nash the #1 contender? Has he even had a singles match against anyone besides the champ?

cause god knows putting him cleanly over the biggest star of the company in his debut match isn't a real push.

I hate HHH, but I want to see him beat Goldberg clean--that'd be hilarious.

I'm pretty sure that Hunter is jobbing to Nash at the PPV. Then he'll be traded to Smackdown to avoid Goldberg. This way he can be on a show with his future wife, squash all the good wrestlers of Smackdown, win their title, and have Nash on Raw to keep Jericho, RVD, and Booker from breaking through the glass ceiling. Fuck Triple H.

The only one I can think of was on Raw against Jericho.
