Guest wildpegasus Posted June 17, 2003 Report Posted June 17, 2003 The Lance Storm segment is now officialy the stupidest segment in wrestling history. Bar none. Getting a boring chant started during matches is beyond idiotic. Unbelievable, simply unbelievable.
Guest Nevermortal Posted June 17, 2003 Report Posted June 17, 2003 Well, good thing it happened to someone I could give two fucks about. Sure, Lance is overrated and boring, but they didn't have to devote 5 minutes to the fact.
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Posted June 17, 2003 Report Posted June 17, 2003 As I said in the RAW thread... I give this until the next HHH or Nash match until thie idea of conditioning fans to chant boring during bad matches bites them in the ass.
Guest Smell the ratings!!! Posted June 17, 2003 Report Posted June 17, 2003 Vince is such a master at getting people over. Goldberg is such a tool for not being a mega star despite Vince. Hopefully this is not exactly the same as Nunzio's upcoming post. EDIT: Nunzio owns me.
Guest Vyce Posted June 17, 2003 Report Posted June 17, 2003 As I said in the RAW thread... I give this until the next HHH or Nash match until thie idea of conditioning fans to chant boring during bad matches bites them in the ass. One can only hope.
Guest bob_barron Posted June 17, 2003 Report Posted June 17, 2003 I think this is their way for punishing Storm for being a bitch backstage
Guest razazteca Posted June 17, 2003 Report Posted June 17, 2003 just curious was that Lance Cade that beat Lance Storm?
Guest AM The Kid Posted June 17, 2003 Report Posted June 17, 2003 GAHHHHH!!!! I cant believe a jobber pinned Storm, and the boring chant and everything...dammit...I just dont know but I guess this will be Storm's gimmick now.
Guest Bruiser Chong Posted June 17, 2003 Report Posted June 17, 2003 I think this is their way for punishing Storm for being a bitch backstage And that's fucking pathetic. This taking shit that happens backstage and dragging it onto the show is just immature on so many levels. Disgusting.
Guest godthedog Posted June 17, 2003 Report Posted June 17, 2003 if so, that segment went so far beyond any punishment i've ever seen. even saturn's punishment for exploding on that jobber (taking the 2 powerbombs from APA that eventually led to the moppy gimmick) wasn't this insulting. i truly cannot think of any adequate explanation for it, i try to think about it and i'm struck dumb.
Guest subliminal_animal Posted June 17, 2003 Report Posted June 17, 2003 just curious was that Lance Cade that beat Lance Storm? Yep, and he also fought Storm on Heat a couple of weeks ago under his original name. I think they called him "Garrison Cade" tonight. From what I know of Brian Gewirtz (?), I'm guessing it's a reference to a comic book character (Garrison Kane).
Guest The Czech Republic Posted June 17, 2003 Report Posted June 17, 2003 This angle is about as legitimate as a three-legged donkey. Which as we all know is illegitimate, because donkeys have four legs. It's been all downhill since January '02. Wow.
TheOriginalOrangeGoblin Posted June 17, 2003 Report Posted June 17, 2003 This is beyond disgraceful. Storm should just quit before they make him job to Moolah on her birthday.
Guest RugbyDiva Posted June 17, 2003 Report Posted June 17, 2003 I have to say, I had trouble staying awake during this segment. It was totally unecessary.
Guest RollingSambos Posted June 17, 2003 Report Posted June 17, 2003 I hate Lance Storm with a passion, so I really enjoyed that segment. I know that it's retarded to call your own product boring, but this was 5 minutes of pure guilty pleasure for me. I couldn't have written it better myself, and trust me, if I was in charge of WWE I would bury Lance Storm and then fire his ass. He truly is the most boring son of a bitch on the planet. I mean, Scott Steiner sucks, but at least he has a personality. Lance Storm is just a whiny, uncharismatic, bold-legged waste of space that will never be over with anyone except his Internet fanboys. He will never amount to anything in this business, and I was happy to see him humiliated and embarassed and jobbed out to an OVW guy.
Guest Retro Rob Posted June 17, 2003 Report Posted June 17, 2003 GAHHHHH!!!! I cant believe a jobber pinned Storm, and the boring chant and everything...dammit...I just dont know but I guess this will be Storm's gimmick now. Cade isn't a jobber. He has been brought up from OVW.
Guest Slingshot Suplex Posted June 17, 2003 Report Posted June 17, 2003 So this isn't a similar 'motivate Lance Storm' angle ala the Kane thing?
Guest BoboBrazil Posted June 17, 2003 Report Posted June 17, 2003 I liked the angle. I always think Storm is boring when he comes out and they actually made a good segment out of it tonight.
Guest JMA Posted June 17, 2003 Report Posted June 17, 2003 The Lance Storm segment is now officialy the stupidest segment in wrestling history. Bar none. Getting a boring chant started during matches is beyond idiotic. Unbelievable, simply unbelievable. I'm afraid you're wrong. Don't get me wrong, the humiliation of Lance Storm was crap. But it wasn't the STUPIDEST segment. That "honor" belongs to the Steiner/Nowinski "debate."
LooseCannon25 Posted June 17, 2003 Report Posted June 17, 2003 It was very fucked up and childish to punish him on live TV.....with thta being said at least Lance Cade is 1-0 on Raw now. He looks like a young Stunning Steve Austin
Guest Jobber of the Week Posted June 17, 2003 Report Posted June 17, 2003 I hate Lance Storm with a passion, so I really enjoyed that segment. I know that it's retarded to call your own product boring, but this was 5 minutes of pure guilty pleasure for me. I couldn't have written it better myself Ditto.
Guest MarvinisaLunatic Posted June 17, 2003 Report Posted June 17, 2003 There have been worse segments than this. The only thing is that they really didnt need to get Austin to start a boring chant. That would have naturally occured on its own. And I feel bad for whatever his name is..wins a match in what I would assume to be his WWE debut and no one will remember it.
Guest RavishingRickRudo Posted June 17, 2003 Report Posted June 17, 2003 Encouraging your fans to chant boring... good job WWE! Make that death come quicker.
Guest bravesfan Posted June 17, 2003 Report Posted June 17, 2003 It's akin to Austin preaching to Kane about his character. The "boring" chant/angle is probably part of some re-tooling; the loss tonight is punishment for speaking out.
Guest undisputedjericho Posted June 17, 2003 Report Posted June 17, 2003 What about when Jericho brought out those apes to humilate Steph when 'Planet of the Apes' came out? I think that was more brutal, this was just wrong. And I don't care for Storm.
Guest AndrewTS Posted June 17, 2003 Report Posted June 17, 2003 They're probably planning to "trim the fat" soon (i.e. fire people not "pulling their weight." Hint: Nash and Goldy will still be around). I wouldn't be shocked to hear next week of Storm being released.
Guest wildpegasus Posted June 17, 2003 Report Posted June 17, 2003 What did Lance speak out against? I thought his comments on his message board were getting a little more negative but I don't remember him blatantly speaking out against something. I'm in the dark here.
Guest BoboBrazil Posted June 17, 2003 Report Posted June 17, 2003 Would anyone actually care if Storm is released? He will just go to TNA and be great like he was in WCW.
Guest RavishingRickRudo Posted June 17, 2003 Report Posted June 17, 2003 Storm was mad that his entrance got cut in the squash to Steiner.
