I'm saying it HAS to fucking go somewhere RRR. It's still fucking stupid that they MADE their crowd chant boring, I don't disagree with that. But if this doesn't go anywhere for Lance, he's like FUCKED for good.

WWE rookie Garrison Cade battled Lance Storm in a one-on-one battle. Before the match started, Stone Cold came to the top of the ramp with a pillow and a blanket. Throughout the match, Stone Cold reminded Storm how boring he was and that his personality and wrestling style puts him to sleep.

All you haters can go to hell. I find this hystercial and all too true. I actually think that, good or bad, this could give Austin a new gimmick. We've all been wondering why Kane isn't the monster he used to be, and many of us find Lance Storm to be a sign to flip to something else. Am I the only one who gets it. Even if this is angle the creative team will eventually pull the plug on it, like they do with all mid-card angles, and storm will be left buried. Even if this is an angle it is the end for storm in WWE.

austin does not wrestle anymore. austin's only use now is enhancement talent: to put the active wrestlers over. austin doesn't need a new gimmick, and he sure as hell doesn't need to be putting himself over at the expense of any active wrestlers. i don't care if it's storm or jericho or nathan jones, it should not happen.

if so, that segment went so far beyond any punishment i've ever seen. even saturn's punishment for exploding on that jobber (taking the 2 powerbombs from APA that eventually led to the moppy gimmick) wasn't this insulting.

I thought it was a good segment. Who cares if they chant boring during Storm matches now? It would be better than the dead silence they give him now for his boring ass matches. Oh and it wasn't a burial. Austin actually put over Lance at the beginning saying he was a great technician and had a great physique. He was just saying he is boring, which 99% of people probably agree with.

It's a damn shame, too, I was a huge Storm mark when he was in WCW....remember when he was in the world title match and put (I believe it was) Booker T in the Maple Leaf and everyone in the arena was going fucking INSANE? Because nobody had gotten out of the leaf before...the WWE just has no idea what to do with Storm. He's a great worker and, if given the opportunity (a la Team Canada) CAN get over.

Problem is, they NEED to have Lance actually play up the "can I be serious for a moment" attitude. It and his tech skills were what got him over in WCW.

 

Oh wait. Something that actually WOULD be successful in WWE isn't a good thing to do. Nevermind.

Actually, I think you'll find that whole thing was a one night segment. They did it to build up Storm's match where if he won, he was a WWE employee again after the Invasion. Basically, it was the middle part. Storm is fired as part of the Alliance, Storm is working at WWE New York trying to get his job back, Storm wins his job back. A rare time where a WWE story had a beginning and an end.

 

 

I hope Storm goes to TNA cause TNA suits his style. He could get over, have good matches again, work his own style...Storm needs to go. There or Japan. Japan would be a big opportunity for him, because he could let his wrestling do the talking.

 

This is going to turn out bad no doubt though. Although they'll dub out "Boring" chants wherever possible.

 

But it's just another Piss Off The Smarks exercise. Storm's a great technical wrestler. The team thinks 'Oh, those smarks probably like him...he needs punishing anyway, we can kill two birds with one stone.' And it worked. Even though the majority don't like Lance Storm, we're all pissed about it. Just another opportunity to annoy us. You think in the mood McMahon was in after Bad Blood and Goldberg, he wouldn't fire Storm on the spot? Sure he'd want to punish him, but I think he'd still think 'screw it' and fire him.

Yes, which is why I refuse to say that Russo WCW was worse than WWE now. Not that I'm defending that era either, but still, I can name a few or more guys they tried much harder than WWE with. I'll probably get dissenting viewpoints on this, though, out of the reluctance to stray from the "Russo is a scourge" mindset.

Russo had ONE good thing about him, and that was his attempts at trying to push the young guys. Sure, the ones he pushed were as green as grass, but at least he made a genuine effort to push them.

I don't even particularly care about Storm but this was a burial that Benoit and Jericho could only dream of receiving. Why in the name of all that is holy would you direct attention to the idea that one of your employees is boring? And you all know that they will never allow Lance to get any heat on Austin, because certainly no one else has been able to. Sure, there are ways to make the whole boring thing work and all... but those things aren't going to happen and we all know it.

At the time I thought it was a terrible idea also. After thinking about it a bit, I am hoping that it will be like the Austin/Kane segments they were doing prior to last night's events which led to Kane getting a title shot. Hopefully this is going to be Austin's way of motivating Storm. In fact im thinking that instead of just suddenly repackaging someone with no explaination this is the writer's way of SHOWING us a repackage, and giving us a REASON for it.

First, I agree that it was a terrible, terrible decision to encourage the fans to chant boring at their product ... you just know that it's going to be a prevalent problem moving forward now.

 

Second, Storm just standing there with an angry look on his face made him look like a bitch, even more than having Austin mock him. He should have either gone after Austin mid-match (and thus losing by countout) or chased him down after the match. For all the times that Austin said that Storm was putting him to sleep I was hoping that Storm would use some form of sleeper on him and screaming "you want to sleep? I'll put you to sleep".

 

They at least should have had Storm go nuts on Cade and beat the hell out of him to show he wasn't boring. Let Storm bust out all sorts of high impact moves to show he's not boring.
