Guest Tyler McClelland Posted June 17, 2003 Report Posted June 17, 2003 http://www.charlotte.com/mld/observer/news/6086632.htm I especially like those who think Iraq used WMDs in the war.
Guest MarvinisaLunatic Posted June 17, 2003 Report Posted June 17, 2003 "Well, if the president sayd they had them there wepons of mass deestrucktion, then dead gummit, that SaDamn had em, yes sir indeedie..SaDamn probly has some sort a invisibilitee ray and zapped em all invisible so our troops couldn't find em. But I know SaDamn used them there wepons of mass deestrucktion cause Irak looks like it was pert near blowed up real good by a big ole newclear bomb. I saw it wit my own two eyes on the teevee, I did...and the president came back from fightin over there in Irak on that big ol boat and said we won the war, we did..Im gonna go back to eatin my cold freedom fries now..that damn SaDamn made the electricitee bill go up agin.."
Guest Vern Gagne Posted June 17, 2003 Report Posted June 17, 2003 People aren't very bright. All the scrutiny President Bush is getting for not finding any WMD's yet, I'd have a feeling we'd hear something about it if something was found.
Guest Smell the ratings!!! Posted June 17, 2003 Report Posted June 17, 2003 ***BREAKING NEWS*** People Stupid! Film at 11.
Guest Fallen Angel Posted June 17, 2003 Report Posted June 17, 2003 The question is, how much of this can be blamed on sensationalist journalism? I can't speak for national networks, because I didn't see much of their coverage, but the local outlets, the one Joe and Jane Sixpack turn to for the news, were reporting all kinds of rumors and half-truths. I'm all for being as well-informed as possible, but if the people hear something fictional reported as fact, it's hard to lay much blame on them. ....fragmentary or conflicting media reports that lacked depth or skepticism.... Well, there you go, I guess.
Guest kkktookmybabyaway Posted June 17, 2003 Report Posted June 17, 2003 Well golly gee, people are misinformed. And in other news, the Sun rises in the East...
B. Brian Brunzell Posted June 17, 2003 Report Posted June 17, 2003 Wow...just WOW. And we Americans wonder why we're the laughing stock of the world.
rising up out of the back seat-nuh Posted June 17, 2003 Report Posted June 17, 2003 Don't worry, everyone's stupid and misinformed around the world. It's just Americans can be so stupidly patriotic that grates.
Guest Youth N Asia Posted June 17, 2003 Report Posted June 17, 2003 "It's a striking finding," said Steve Kull, director of the Program on International Policy Attitudes at the University of Maryland, which asked the weapons questions during a May 14-18 poll of 1,265 respondents. They survey 1,200 and with that they say 1/3 of the American public. Well they asked about 0.000005% of out population, so I guess that measn we're misinformed. I hate when they do shit like this. If you ask the right people you can get polls to "prove" just about anything you want.
Guest Tyler McClelland Posted June 17, 2003 Report Posted June 17, 2003 Scholarly polls (and I assume that's what this was; it was performed by a university) often use a cross section representing the U.S. with proportional representations of race, religion, etc. with their final numbers. It may not be incredibly accurate, but it's probably within +-5% as they say.
Guest Vern Gagne Posted June 17, 2003 Report Posted June 17, 2003 So in other words. Stupidity can effect black, white, hispanic, rich, poor, male, female. What a proud melting pot we live in.
Guest MarvinisaLunatic Posted June 18, 2003 Report Posted June 18, 2003 Stupidity doesn't discriminate!
Guest WhenDanSaysJump Posted June 18, 2003 Report Posted June 18, 2003 I can't be too smug, because I know that a survey here in England would probably produce similar results, especially when it came to 9/11.
