Maybe I'm just extremely disappointed since the original is easily in my all-time top ten, but man does that movie suck. Training Day sucks a huge donkey cock as well. What a useless film. That said, my top 5 least favorite films, are (can't do a full 10 off the top of my head): 5. Dumb and Dumberer - enough said already 4. O Brother Where Art Thou? - a complete waste of my time 3. America's Sweethearts - I renounced John Cusack as being my favorite actor because of this shit 2. Training Day - what was the point of this?? 1. I hated Batman & Robin with a fuckin' passion, but even I have to admit that it at least had a certain degree of competency that no-budget failures like Manos or Plan 9 lacked. Moviemaking technology has advanced at least enough so that the camera is always focused properly these days, which wasn't always the case. In short, I'd be very surprised if any movie made in the past decade was anywhere near as bad as the uncinematic shit that Ed Wood, Dennis Steckler, and their co-retards made back in the day. Take Battlefield Earth, what, they spend 100 million on that? You can't compare it with something like Fu-Bar(which isn't that bad, but just using it). Everything from the fighting priest (I KICK ASS FOR THE LORD.) to the ecsessive amounts of blood use. This movie has it all as far as B-rated horror films go. You have to have a certain sensibility and sense of humor to get into "bad pop culture," but that's me. And it's true, people are saying stuff how Jurassic Park or Any Given Sunday is the worst movie of all time and I could name you a hundred worst movies off the top of my head that are much worst in ever way imaginable. To you, that's a bad movie, but I get a kick out of people rolling their eyes at something like that when I have walked through the fire of pure shit for the pervese humor I find in it. Guest godthedog Report post Posted June 18, 2003 the effect of most b-movies like you're talking about is normally either amusement or boredom. movies like that either leave you feeling like "that's really funny," or just feeling really blah. they generally don't inspire the pure hatred that slick moviemaking has the power to do. when i saw 'tormented' i thought it was pretty god damn bad, but it didn't make me want to stab bert i. gordon in the face with a dirty spork and scream "what were you thinking! what were you thinking!" when i saw 'breaking the waves', i DID want to do this to lars von trier. so it's just more fun to talk about 'breaking the waves'. i think most of the list-makers are going the route i went & are just rattling off their least-favorite movies, not trying to make any objective claims about what the "worst movies ever made" would be. i imagine you yourself have a list of movies that inspire similar hatred, and i imagine that list would be very different from the one you made in this thread.
