Guest Trivia247 Posted June 23, 2003 Report Posted June 23, 2003 # The latest word on Brock Lesnar is that he will be at this week's Smackdown taping at Madison Square Garden. # Ultimo Dragon, who is set to make his WWE television debut at this week's Smackdown taping, has been impressing officials at recent house show events. He has been competing in four-way matches with Matt Hardy, Rey Mysterio, and Jamie Noble and is said to look as good as ever.
Guest Choken One Posted June 23, 2003 Report Posted June 23, 2003 :DROOLS: Put Spanky in Matt's Place and we're in HEAVEN.
Guest Coffey Posted June 23, 2003 Report Posted June 23, 2003 Bah, I'd rather just see one on one matches. I've never been a fan of 4-way or 3-way matches. Ultimo Vs. Mistero would work for me.
Guest Choken One Posted June 23, 2003 Report Posted June 23, 2003 We've seen Mysterio.Dragon before which is why Dragon/Knoble and Dragon/Spanky are more appealing... Not that I will complain bout seeing Dragon/Rey...
Guest Polish_Rifle Posted June 23, 2003 Report Posted June 23, 2003 Maybe they'll have a 4-way at Vengence and a Rey/Dragon match at SummerSlam.
Guest Red Hot Thumbtack In The Eye Posted June 23, 2003 Report Posted June 23, 2003 God hates us. Dragon will be injured in his first TV match. I'm going to hell if that actually happens. I wonder if now, since it is ULTIMO MOTHERFUCKING DRAGON, the reins will be loosened and he can just go at it hard with the other CW's. If Ultimo is looking as good as the reports say, this could get real good.
Guest Choken One Posted June 23, 2003 Report Posted June 23, 2003 WWE hasnt shown if he will be a face or heel tho... what does a guy have to do to get his Tajiri/Dragon 15 minute match?
Guest Coffey Posted June 23, 2003 Report Posted June 23, 2003 We've seen Mysterio.Dragon before which is why Dragon/Knoble and Dragon/Spanky are more appealing... Not that I will complain bout seeing Dragon/Rey... Obviously you missed my point. It could be Ultimo Vs. Spanky, or Ultimo Vs. Hardy, or Ultmo Vs. whomever. I just want one on one non gimmick matches.
Guest Choken One Posted June 23, 2003 Report Posted June 23, 2003 I got that...I just thought you were stating a personal pref.
Guest The Hollywood Fashion Plate Posted June 23, 2003 Report Posted June 23, 2003 I wonder what Ultimo's entrance music/pyro is gonna look like...
Guest LJSexay Posted June 23, 2003 Report Posted June 23, 2003 Well now I'm excited to see what happens every week now [on Smackdown, that is].
Mecha Mummy Posted June 23, 2003 Report Posted June 23, 2003 Oooh, I really hope they do Ultimo vs. Yoshi Ta... But that wouldn't be for a while since Yoshi's doing tag matches and all...
Guest Vyce Posted June 23, 2003 Report Posted June 23, 2003 God hates us. Dragon will be injured in his first TV match. I'm going to hell if that actually happens. Don't you dare jinx him!
Guest Red Hot Thumbtack In The Eye Posted June 23, 2003 Report Posted June 23, 2003 Vyce Posted on Jun 23 2003, 12:47 PM -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- QUOTE (Red Hot Thumbtack In The Eye @ Jun 23 2003, 06:53 PM) God hates us. Dragon will be injured in his first TV match. I'm going to hell if that actually happens. Don't you dare jinx him! Dun worry. The worst thing that will happen is that he'll be at MSG. Put on a bigtime show. Pop the crowd, have a good match. Job to Crash in ** clinics each week on Velocity for the next 6 months.
B. Brian Brunzell Posted June 23, 2003 Report Posted June 23, 2003 Shit, I'm drooling at the possiblities of Ultimo/**insert random Cuiserweight here**. I hope he's looking as good as everyone says he is. I may have to move to Pittsburgh so I can have UPN.
Guest The Mighty Damaramu Posted June 23, 2003 Report Posted June 23, 2003 Ultimo is that good. Although I haven't seen him since his career "ended". Oh and 10 bucks says that he'll face Jaimie Noble in his opening match. B/c Noble has become *random cruiserweight jobber*.

If Ultimo is looking as good as the reports say, this could get real good. problem is what the house show results show they haven't let up the moveset reins because Ultimo been basically a masked version of Tajiri with mostly kick. We all know he can do far more than that, just up to the WWE for letting him and the others do what they do best.
Guest Red Hot Thumbtack In The Eye Posted June 23, 2003 Report Posted June 23, 2003 Maybe they're waiting for TV matches to show what he can do to a larger audience. If he's gonna be the cornerstone of the CWD, then he better be more allowed more than kicking.
Guest Steviekick Posted June 23, 2003 Report Posted June 23, 2003 Thsy should let the CW's do whatever they want to. It's not like they are on Raw and have to worry about them upstaging HHH
Guest FatKane Posted June 24, 2003 Report Posted June 24, 2003 Anyone else think that Ultimo should NOT have his first match at MSG? I mean, in his WWE.com interview, he says that wrestling at MSG has been a career goal of his he's wanted to fulfill ever since he got into the business. Getting that goal accomplished in the first night would sorta waste it. His other goal is to wrestle at WrestleMania. Why not save the big match at MSG for WMXX? IMO, they should've built it up last week with an entire story about how Ultimo's dream is to wrestle at MSG just like Tiger Mask. Then, as he walks down the aisle towards the ring at MSG tomorrow night, a cruiserweight heel (ie. Noble, Hardy) attacks him from behind dehabilitating him just enough to prevent Ultimo from fulfilling his dream tonight, but not enough to prevent him from performing some sick Lucha spotty stuff at the end of the night. He'll have his first real match the week after. I just don't think his first match should be the culmination of something he seemed to be working towards his whole career.
Guest ViciousFish Posted June 24, 2003 Report Posted June 24, 2003 That would be pretty decent. It would allow him to achieve his goal at Wrestlemania XX and set up a feud with little to no work.
Ultimo Dugas Posted June 24, 2003 Report Posted June 24, 2003 That actually would be good. But then again, you're expecting them to plan that far ahead for a cruiserweight and solidfy a place for him on WMXX. I'm not sure he's even gonna be on the biggest show of the year. I can only hope.
Guest Raven_Effect01 Posted June 24, 2003 Report Posted June 24, 2003 I'm not sure he's even gonna be on the biggest show of the year. I can only hope. By then, WWE will have probably given up on the Cruiserweight division even though they plan on "giving it more recognition" now. Yeah, sure, limited high-flying and a bunch of restholds every match is all it might be.
Guest redbaron51 Posted June 24, 2003 Report Posted June 24, 2003 this thursday!? ...well looks like I'm taping this bad boy
Guest Cerebus Posted June 24, 2003 Report Posted June 24, 2003 I know I'm doing what i hate (speculate) but would anyone be that surprised if Ultimo got pushed to heat/velocity/house shows as not to show up the utter lack of wrestling ability exhibited by Raw's main eventers (ie all of "Evolution")
Internet Warfare Posted June 24, 2003 Report Posted June 24, 2003 My guess is that for the first 3 or 4 months he's an upper midcard wrestler, and after a fued with A-Train he gets sent down to Velocity and given a fued with Demott and Orlando Jones.
Guest Choken One Posted June 24, 2003 Report Posted June 24, 2003 I thought in his contract he had it say "I GET TO appear at MANIA"... So expect him to get thrown into a Battle Royale at the last minute...
