Chazz 0 Report post Posted June 26, 2003 Does anybody remember an early episode of Livewire (They were still accepting calls from viewers, although I believe this was the last or next to last week before they changed the format,) In which J.R. and "Vic Venom" (I.E. Vince Russo, who was still writing for The WWF Magazine at the time), hosted the show. Both went off on just about every viewer who called In that day. It just wasn't about the line of questions recieved, It also had to do with callers being slow In getting out their questions. Pretty funny stuff, especially seeing J.R. flip out on The marks. Is It any wonder this show's Live Call In Feature was axed? Did anybody else see this particular show? This would've been around January 1997. Anybody else think this was as funny as I found It to be?
Guest Fook_Hing_Ho Report post Posted June 26, 2003 I didn't see that show, but I have a clip of one with Vince, Sunny, Cornette, and Michael Hayes all hosting when Paul Heyman calls in and starts blasting Vince and Co. Good times.

Guest Fook_Hing_Ho Report post Posted June 26, 2003 The only two episodes i remember is when "paul" from connecticut called in and put over ECW....lol That was Heyman. He called in as "Bruce from Conneticut" to get past the call screeners.
Guest Zack Malibu Report post Posted June 26, 2003 Heh, shockingly enough, the only eps I really remember were the aforementioned Russo and Heyman ones. I never taped LiveWire, but I'd tape Mania because they used to have at least one exclusive match. I think I've got a Bret Hart vs. Buddy Landell match (!) somewhere. And the first time they showed the Brian Pillman Press Conference was on Mania, but they cut it off before he flipped out on Gorilla, Dillon and Dok Hendrix. They then showed that part on the ensuing RAW.

Guest Youth N Asia Report post Posted June 26, 2003 The show was fun when it first started cause everyone would sneak past the screeners. Nash or Shawn was either on and 2 PEOPLE said the "I wasn's suppose to ask this to I lied to the screener..." then asked about the Clique. And the episode where Backlund went nuts was great. Caller: "I want to wish Sunny a happy birthday." Backlund: "I've had enough of you. Hang up on this guy!"

Guest TheHulkster Report post Posted June 26, 2003 I remember one caller on the show asked some tough questions and got cut off when he asked when Bruno was going to be inducted into the WWF hall of fame. The hosts looked visibly pissed. I also remember one time a black lady went off on Sunny about how much of a ho she was and kept calling her Tammy Lynn. That show was great before they killed it. Guest El Gigante Report post Posted June 26, 2003 I remember when Russo came on there and he said he knew about Dok Hendrix and he started calling Dok Michael Hayes, while yelling at Sunny and calling her Tammy. Well remember when they tried to bring back the call in show when they came up with Excess, which the calls there lasted only a few weeks also.
Guest Eagan469 Report post Posted June 26, 2003 In 1994 there was also a call-in special after an episode of RAW. It was hosted by Vince and King, and Lawler had a button that cut-off the callers connection when he pushed it. One guy asked if the fake Undertaker used to be in the Twin Towers, and Vince was all like, "umm, yeah, maybe, sure...". 1994 marks, gotta love em'.
Guest NoCalMike Report post Posted June 26, 2003 Besides the hilarious Heyman call, I remember the first three callers all asking questions like, "So, is the WWF afraid that the nWo is gonna take over, I mean they are pretty powerfull" and then Tod and Dok had to no-sell the nWo like they have no idea what it was. Funny stuff.

Guest AndrewTS Report post Posted June 26, 2003 WWE fears fan feedback. It's true, it's true. They want to just shove their heads into the sand and live in their own little world. Much like WWE apologists stick their heads into the sand and say "I want to enjoy it as a fan! Not a smark!" I know some one online who does that and thinks that maybe HHH doesn't have as much influence as we think and that the WWE might get better. I didn't tell him about spoilers. Enjoy seeing Vince's big white ass again Ken. Enjoy it "as a fan."

It was hosted by Vince and King, and Lawler had a button that cut-off the callers connection when he pushed it. That one I remember. The last caller was Chicago radio personality Mancow Muller, who basically used his time to rip into Jerry Lawler and challenge him to a charity softball game. "What do they call your team, King? Lawler's Losers or something?!" I think the WWF won that game. I also vaguely remember the "Bruce from Connecticut" call on Livewire. -Ben
