Anyone else remember WCW SuperBrawl for SNES?

I remember that game. The controls for the game were horrible. On the positive side, Ricky Steamboat and Brian Pillman are in the game. The "wrestler rants" were pretty cheesy as well.

I take it almost no one played Wrestle War. That's what I voted for, and it's gotta be the worst I've ever played.

Button mash your way through a thrilling match consisting of punches, kicks, bodyslams, and stomps to the balls.

I used to love that WWF game for NES, can't remember the name of it though. It was the one where when a wrestler was tagged in, their theme music started to play.

Anyway back to the matter at hand. I found WCW Nitro and WCW Thunder to be unplayable, I used to only ever put them on tolisten to the rants of the wrestlers, then turn them straight off.

Whoever dissed BIGGER BADDER BETTER WWF WReSTELMEANIAZ for the Nes should be shot. It wasn't as good as SUPER Wrestlemania, which was superb, but it still ruled it old school. The fact that Girls in Cars played when you wrestled BEFORE STRIKE FORCE EVEN EXISTED MY GOD should leave it off of this list.

WCW for NES was the BEST Wrestling game until Royal Rumble on SNES/Genesis (and the FPW Series from 1995 on when the graphics weren't so bad).

Oh I played Wrestle War... it was a horrible arcade game and I can only image how MUCH worse it was for the platforms.

How dare someone mention Rage in the Cage for Sega Cd......I was doin Bret vs. Perfect and Razor vs. Luger matches all day in that game..it was pretty fun, ad used the same engine as RAW for Genesis.

Nitro was absolute crap and tops my list

By the way i'm curious to know what everyone here thinks of Tag Team Wrestling and Pro Wrestling for NES....i liked those games

I voted Thunder/Nitro... both equally horrible.

IMO, you can't really vote Warzone as being one of the worst, because it actually was Acclaim's first wrestling game, and from what I remember, it got great reviews when it first came out. I spend hours playing that game.

WCW Superbrawl for SNES is also pretty bad. The best thing about it is the wrestler selection screen, when everyone taunts you and is constantly moving. Ah, the memories... Johnny B. Badd saying, "I'm baddddd" immediately followed by Vader's "You want Vader?" After every long pause, Sting would pop up and scream. Rick Steiner's was easily the funniest, as he pops up smiling and looks like Val Venis with his arms behind his head saying, "It's not my fault!" Then, Dustin Runnels, Scott Steiner, & Brian Pillman were the rarest of them all, never popping up.

Brian Pillman: A thirst for high impact! ]

Dustin Rhodes: No second chance.

Scott Steiner: Comin to get you!

Those were by far the best taunts in the game.

Honestly, I think they both suck.

Then again, I don't like any of the 8-Bit wrestling games.

There was one, like Natsume Wrestling Association, for SNES, that was far & away the single worst wrestling game i've ever played, & makes the top 5 for worst ever. Pick all your made up guys, like Python, or some other fucking generic name. Worst $20 i've ever spent.

WCW Vs The World i remember hating with a passion. i was always kinda anti WCW (shows what happens when you get TBS at the beginning of the Dungeon Of Doom angle), but i tried it & didn't like it. I later played it once at like Wal Mart for 64 (i had PS) & it was much better.

IYH & Wrestlemania: The Arcade Game were fine in small doses, IE the world didn't need 2 of those. WCW: BA is there because any game where you need like Lash LaRoux to unlock Lance Storm to unlock Stevie Ray is just a fucking factory for suicidal thought.

Wrestlemania on the NES was terrible, but still could do more than you could do in Steel Cage Challenge (Bam Bam's Cartwheel for instance). Steel Cage Challenge is by far the worst. Wrestlemania Challenge (the second of 3 WWF games for the NES) was actually very good. I loved playing Survivor Series matches back in the day. And don't forget that you could play as YOU.

Wrestle War is okay. You can certainly do more than just kick or punch, but it is pretty barebones in terms of options.

Ahh yes, WWF Steel Cage Challenge and WWF WrestleMania, I remember downloading these two when I had my NES emulator.

These were awful games and just plain cheap.

And btw, there were four WWF games on NES.

I'm suprised nobody mentioned PowerMove Pro Wrestling.

PMPW is actually a really good game, for its time.

BWAH!?!? ...it had the greatest sound effects ever - fear the power of the "belching" punch!

Out of the few listed, I'll go with WCW Mayhem for the n64. I remember being so hyped for the game when I first purchased it, only to be let down by the sheer pain it caused to me and my direct family.

When I first got my Playstation, the first thing I rented was WCW Nitro and some RPG about an egg and monsters and aliens or something.

Playing as Sting, the first movie I hit was a piledriver, and then for the next 2 minutes, I got my ass handed to me by Nash. It sucks ass. I hate that game with a passion.

Nitro did have those promo videos at the Select a wrestler screen, those were the only good stuf in that game.

Isn't that basically the engine that Yukes uses for Smackdown?

WRT WrestleWar, I think that was on a "Sega's Greatest Hits" for Dreamcast. It blows, but I still stand by my assertion of WWF Steel Cage Challenge. Let's face it, the standard cage match still sucks in wrestling games, and Steel Cage was all punch, kick, climb. At least Nitro and Thunder looked pretty, even if it was unplayable.

Also, ECW deserved better than to be stuck with a wrestling engine on it's last legs. Kudos to Ack!Lame for that...

i don't know game engines, i just know what i like. SCC was a game i was PSYCHED at the prospect of, but i was a moron & searched the world for it on SNES. needless to say i didn't find it (had to settle monday night RAW, which was great). but i played it years later....to use a proper analogy, playing SCC is similar to gutting onesself with a Dremal Rotary Tool.

I'd motion for WWF RAW on gameboy. i was so dissapointed in that when i first got it, mainly because it didn't seem to have as much shit as the SNES version. "No shit," says you? there was my problem in my early years: i was a mark for everything in cartridge form

I used to like World Tour a lot. Anyone else remember WCW SuperBrawl for SNES?

I marked the fuck out everytime I went to select Johnny B Badd, to which he exclaimed "I'M BAAAAAAAAD!!!!"

I didn't believe him.

None of you better hate on Royal Rumble for SNES. I have fond memories of that one.

Meanwhile, voted Other for Backstage Assault.

RR for SNES is one of my favorite all time games. RAW kicked ass too.

I sill say Natsume Wrestling Association. Anyone else know this one?

Nitro and Thunder are worth it just for the promos.
