Is Sura a free agent at the end of the year or something? I though GS was trying to get rid of some big contracts: Jamison, Fortson, Mills, Sura...but why are they adding Robinson (who has 2 years and $20 million left) and Van Exel (who I believe also has a very hefty contract)?

^ they could pick up a veteran PG like Kenny Anderson, Mark Jackson or Travis Best. Also, with Mills on board, they will probably pass on resigning Walt Williams.

I guess it really happened.

Van Exel can opt out of his contract after this year and they are hoping he will do it.

I guarentee that he will be back in Dallas after this season.

I just can't see Juwan Howard playing the 5 with Gooden at the 4.... Gooden was wore out for two seasons trying to play the 5, and Juwan has always been a 3 or 4. Neither of the has the size or bulk to play the position effectively, all snide remarks about the Eastern Conference aside. If they were going to run that scheme, crazy as it is, they would not have re-signed DeClerq, since he has been the Magic's most reliable center for a long time, Shawn Kemp's abortion at playing the 5 notwithstanding.

As mentioned, Steven Hunter is inconsistent as hell, but he does always bust his ass, I'd throw him in for 20 to 25 minutes a game at center, Declerq can get the rest of the time, Shawn Kemp can BBQ on the sidelines.

I am convinced the Warriors went "Whoa! Almost got to .500 last season, lets Titanic this bitch" and proceded to trade away and give up on anything they had that was worth a damn.

Chris Cohan is an evil owner. I mean there are assholes out there in all sports but Cohan doesn't give a shit about the fans or winning. Just all about turning a profit and he saved himself $30 million over the next two years.

Apparently Travis Best is looking at possibly signing with Dallas, even though I *swore* I heard about him signing with the Celtics.

On ESPN classic last night they were showing the ’93 Western Conf. Finals between Seattle and Phoenix and it was kinda sad seeing the Reign Man in his prime. How can that talented, athletic, sleek superstar turn into the big, fat, slow Shawn Kemp that we know today? That’s just tragic.

But it did let you bow before the glory that is KJ. So all was good, right?

The good thing was seeing a young and slender Sam Perkins hustle and jump out of bounds to save a ball. Big Smooth actually MOVED!

Yet you are ignoring my never dying praise of Kevin Johnson. He is a GAWD you know.

Screw KJ, he was a good player but come on....

PR, thats what happens to some people who get a lot of money. They let themselves go to seed, having tons of illegitimate kids and eating themselves out of their careers. If Kemp had continued to improve he could have been Hall of Fame material.

But alas, no... instead of being one of the most dominant and athletic PFs in history, he fornicated and binged himself into playing for the Magic.

Sigh.

Okay I guess Best *didn't* sign with the Celtics after all, and actually has now signed a one-year deal with the Mavericks for the veterans' minimum.

SWERVE~!

Shawn Kemp gave Orlando some decent moments last year. Nothing good but not just offensively bad either. It is endlessly depressing to watch old Sonics games where he is Kenyan Martin with a jump shot and better rebounding skill. But ah well, he fucked that up for himself I suppose.

But fuck that, TONY MASSENBURG HAS SIGNED WITH THE KINGS. Yes. You heard me right. He has now tied Chuck Person with his 12th NBA team.

Poor bastard.

True enough, I just can't watch him without shaking my head and thinking what might have been. He can barely dunk the basketball now.

Hell even Dominique Wilkins could still throw it down on the rare occassion when he was playing for the Magic at 40.

Hell, He Throw down a NICE dunk in that horrid 4-On-4 game at the All-Star game.

Here's a question:

IF Kobe don't sign with the Lakers next year, which team do you guys think he'd go on?

My Money is on either the Knicks or the Bobcats.

Bobcats?

Oh the new Charlotte franchise....

Let's see if he can avoid jail time, first.

Christ, not a good sign when I see someone suggest Kobe joing the Bobcats and the first thing I think is "Uh...why would he join the WNBA?"

Christ, name it the Charlotte Bastards, ANYTHING is better than the friggin Bobcats.

Actually, it was Chucky *Brown* who played for 12 teams.

Person only played for five teams.

It's official Odom is a Miami Heat

Clippers have decided not to match the offer sheet.

So what now Polish Rifle?

I wouldn't mind if they went after Jason Terry.

I am really torn about the situation. His play up to date has not warranted that type of contract but he is still 23 years old and has a wealth of potential. So much for my short-lived playoff hopes. It’s going to be tough if they do not add another significant player to the roster or resign Q this summer after he came off a disappointing season.

Since, I double posted, I’ll just edit this one…

The US team almost lost again to Argentina last night. I think it sucks that the games are not televised which continues to negate the significance of international basketball and the honor of representing your home country.

I wonder if Jermaine Oneil will demand a trade. That is funny and pretty dirty at the same time. The guy says the only way he will resign is if they promise him that Isaiah will remain coach. He resigns and they fire his ass. FUnny FUNNY stuff.
