Guest Ripper Report post Posted August 1, 2003 Pointless Fact of the Day: Did you know that Bo Outlaw's nickname when he was a Clipper was LW? According to then coach Bill Fitch, it's due to the fact that he always had to have the last word on any topic. Ripper: You're right about Jamison but all I''m saying is that it will be very difficult for them to replicate their success. Jamison has been around for years and last season was the first time that they had any success since his arrival. Yes, but Troy Murphy came in and went from playing like a scrub to a legit rebounder and defender. Richardson became a legit outside shooter(important on a team where Jamison is the man inside) and slashes when necesssary. Dunlevey WILL contribute more with more playing time. Erik Dampier gave them good interiour defense and rebounding. They are still a quality team. Arenas, while good, just shot the ball alot and happened to pass every once in a while. Thats why he would never be in the game in the 4th...and if he was it was at the 2.
Guest alfdogg Report post Posted August 2, 2003 Andre Miller is officially a Denver Nugget. The Clips will not match his offer. Rumored trade is Kurt Thomas and Charlie Ward to Dallas for Raef LaFrentz, with Evan Eschmeyer possibly as a throw-in. The T-Wolves are said to be interested in Jimmy Jackson. Guest Snappy Nappy Dugout Report post Posted August 2, 2003 Old News, But K-MART asking for more money next year: Report: Martin wants maximum extension Kenyon Martin wants a maximum contract extension worth at least $80 million before the season starts. If the over-the-salary-cap Nets do not make Jason Kidd's running mate such an extension offer, Martin's not going to be happy. "They broke their neck to get him back so we've got to keep him happy. So that plays in my favor," Martin told the New York Daily News recently. "I want my due." There's one catch: Martin shot a horrible 5-for-31 in the last pair of games in the NBA Finals against the Spurs. That might be a factor on whether the Nets make Martin a max player or take their chances matching offers if he's a restricted free agent in 2004. "If they go based on what I've done for three years on two games, then I don't need to be here", Martin told the News. The Nets had no comment, the Daily News reported. Rendclaw 0 Report post Posted August 2, 2003 He has a point. He's been steadily improving over those three years, and Jason Kidd notwithstanding, they would not have made it to the Finals without him. I hope he gets the deal, and if the Nets were smart, they would just lock him up and be done with it.
Guest Mindless_Aggression Report post Posted August 2, 2003 Kevin Willis has officially re-signed with the Spurs. And I dunno if I'd be willing to offer Martin that much yet. He has GOT to develop a jumpshot of some sort, the slashing/charging to the basket and jumping over people will only get him so far. Guy has no shot what so ever outside of like 8 feet. Guest alfdogg Report post Posted August 2, 2003 I agree, he's apparently let Bill Walton's verbal blowjobs get WAY too far into his head.
Guest Snappy Nappy Dugout Report post Posted August 3, 2003 Well, I agree. I wouldn't give him That much, As Any Power Forward could do what he does. If They don't sign K-MART, Than if Kwame Brown is a free agent next year, I think the Nets should try to get at him. By the way..... Welcome To Hell, Dre
Guest Mindless_Aggression Report post Posted August 3, 2003 Well I don't think every PF could do what K-Mart does. He's not drastically more talented if at all more talented than a lot of guys at this moment but he does have an insane amount of intensity and will to win. That would be the only hard part of his whole game to replace everything else he does a lot of others can do just as well if not better, specifically off the boards and with mid range jump shooting. Rendclaw 0 Report post Posted August 3, 2003 Kwame hasn't proven shit... its going to take him another season to get over MJ berating him before he actually develops.... I will bet that aside from the money, he wishes he stayed in college after last season
Guest Polish_Rifle Report post Posted August 4, 2003 K-Mart was very impressive last season, but this is only going to be his 4th year. The Nets don't have to give him jack until he has another productive season and continues to improve. If he does, then he will get paid next season just like Elton Brand got paid after working hard for 4 seasons. Now is not the time to disrupt team chemistry because he is a talented individual who will get his money either from the Nets or from an offer sheet next season when he is a restricted FA. Guest Ripper Report post Posted August 4, 2003 Really though, fuck Kmart. Prove something first. There are a handful of forwards in the leage that can do what he does only they have a jumper and more than one move in the post. Personally I'd trade his ass, but thats me. Elton Brand in the league and you talk shit like you are the man. I would ship his ass off to the Clippers so fast, ANd I KNOW the Clips would take him. Guest Polish_Rifle Report post Posted August 4, 2003 I think he’s still on a high since he made Antoine Walker his personal bitch in the playoffs! I think a K-Mart for Rasheed Wallace swap would improve the Nets considerably at that position. While Wallace is arguably slightly more volatile than Martin, he has better range and post-up moves. I would make that trade in a heartbeat. Portland wants to move Wallace anyway, and K-mart is over rated just enough for it to be a straight up trade.
Guest Polish_Rifle Report post Posted August 4, 2003 Zo Wallace RJ Kittles Kidd At their best and healthy, that starting 5 is comparable with the best starting sqauds in the west...Except maybe, Kaman, Brand, Odom, Maggette & Jaric.

Guest Polish_Rifle Report post Posted August 4, 2003 (edited) ^ He played for them last year. The Clips just signed veteran center Olden Polynice. He will replace the departing of Sean Rooks as a veteran backup. Also, its a good move since OP has been arrested for impersonating a police officer on more than one occation. Maybe he’ll deter the young Clips from assaulting and raping women like Kobe did………….allegedly. Edited August 4, 2003 by Polish_Rifle

The Knicks are going to the playoffs. PG-??? SG-Houston SF-Van Horn PF-Lampe/McDyess(When He Comes Back Next Year) C-Mike Sweetney That Alone could be a 8th or 9th Seed. Guest Polish_Rifle Report post Posted August 5, 2003 I don’t know what you’re talking about. Jaric started playing in European pro-leagues when he was 15 and he has been the starting point guard for the Yugoslavian National team for years. Kamen/Wang/Polynice are collectively pretty average but the other 3 starting spots are filled by credible and up-and-coming All-Stars in Brand, Maggette and Odom. That line-up has the potential to wreak (sp?) havoc on this league barring any injuries like last season.

Everyone has a great one on one game but only Jaric and Brand seems to have grasped the idea of "Team Game" The Grizzles have a better starting five. The Nuggets have a better starting 5. The only team that can say they have a more blah lineup is the Jazz...and the summer isn't over yet.

Certain Clips like Maggette were selfish and tended to pad their own stats last year but that will all change after the additions of long term deals, a ray of hope for up coming free agents that Sterling will pay up and the addition of a REAL coach. Guest Ripper Report post Posted August 5, 2003 Andre Miller, Nene Hilario, Marcus Camby and Carmello Anthoney (throw in any two on the team...Rodney White) aren't a more impressive line up than the Clips? Jason Williams, Mike Miller, Pau Gasol, Stromile Swift (and once again...any 2 guard...Wesley Person) aren't a more impressive line up than the Clips? And selfishness also comes from thinking you are better than anyone that d's you up and you can score at will. A long term contract doesn't change the fact that they will still think that. And most of the guys they brought back REALLY don't want to be there, long term or not.
