Guest Retro Rob Posted July 1, 2003 Report Posted July 1, 2003 Chatting with Trish Stratus: Round 2 Topics: Her Character Other Divas Recent Events (Kane, Foley) Gayda Match TNA Creative Team Goldberg Substance Abuse Split PPVs You get the point.
Guest Miss Independant Posted July 1, 2003 Report Posted July 1, 2003 Great interview! And holy shit, Hyatte is going to lay an egg...
Guest notJames Posted July 1, 2003 Report Posted July 1, 2003 Great interview. Very professional and thorough. It also helps that Trish is very personable, Net-friendly, and honest enough to answer some questions that other wrestlers wouldn't come near. Plus she pimped Scott Keith! Take that, haters! (Oh boy, I'm dead meat, aren't I?) On a serious note, have you ever thought of trying more of a feature interview style, where you write the article around the subject's quotes instead of using a full transcription? It gives you opportunities to add your own insight and/or present your "writing voice" more effectively. If anything, it's a great writing exercise and helps you become a more creative writer in the process. Not criticizing your work at all, merely something I suggest to other writers who go with straight interview transcriptions.
Guest Anglesault Posted July 1, 2003 Report Posted July 1, 2003 I feel I'm gonna run into Test one of these days. Trish Stratus: I've personally had no problems with him and found him to be very professional. I can't speak for others I think that second sentence shows for sure (in case anyone doubted) that there are problems.
Guest kane3212321 Posted July 1, 2003 Report Posted July 1, 2003 Anyone get the feeling she'll be reading this thread too......
Guest edge-o-matic Posted July 1, 2003 Report Posted July 1, 2003 There's something I've been wondering from the last "chat".. How do you know this is real? Anyone with knowledge of storylines, the wrestling business and an active imagination could do that easily. I find it hard to believe, personally.
Guest Shanghai Kid Posted July 1, 2003 Report Posted July 1, 2003 Wow, it makes you actually feel a little bit closer to the wrestlers knowing that they visit the same websites you do and might actually read threads like this where you write in. The only thing that's hard for me to believe is that someone as hot as Trish Stratus actually has that much free time to surf the net in the same way that we do. Everytime I see her name on AIM, i'm thinking, 'that can't be her'. Even having talked to her, it seems odd. She seems really friendly and down to earth though. Just an added bonus to all her beauty.
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Posted July 1, 2003 Report Posted July 1, 2003 http://www.pwtorch.com/artman/publish/arti...icle_4373.shtml Torch site with major pimpage of the interview and site.
Guest bob_barron Posted July 1, 2003 Report Posted July 1, 2003 Radio Review???? Ha. Rob asked some great questions but I was dissapointed Trish wasn't more forthcoming
Guest Fook_Hing_Ho Posted July 1, 2003 Report Posted July 1, 2003 I thought she was pretty open considering she's got to watch what she says and continue to tow the company line.

Not criticizing your work at all, merely something I suggest to other writers who go with straight interview transcriptions. I never really thought about it because I wouldn't want to come off as saying something that actually wasn't true. Also as a reader, I like straight up Q & A. The idea though is a worthwhile one for some writers. How do you know this is real? Intuition, consistency, other conversations. That's really all I can say I guess. The only thing that's hard for me to believe is that someone as hot as Trish Stratus actually has that much free time to surf the net in the same way that we do. Everytime I see her name on AIM, i'm thinking, 'that can't be her'. Even having talked to her, it seems odd. She really doesn't go on AIM that often, or at least without privacy settings on. That is why it was kind of hard to wrap this whole thing up. Considering she has a website, comment board, etc. I don't find it too unbelievable. http://www.pwtorch.com/artman/publish/arti...icle_4373.shtml Torch site with major pimpage of the interview and site. *Sighs* I told them to include a link so that people could read the rest of the interview. I haven't checked to see if that have done that yet. Radio Review???? Ha. I don't get it. Another example of the Torch being run by dimwits. I thought she was pretty open considering she's got to watch what she says and continue to tow the company line. That's also how I felt. Thanks to everyone else for reading and writing feedback.
Guest OnlyMe Posted July 1, 2003 Report Posted July 1, 2003 Excellent stuff Rob, a job really well done. Nik
Rendclaw Posted July 2, 2003 Report Posted July 2, 2003 Yes, a wonderful interview... hopefully she can convince some of the others on the roster to come on and speak a little bit. You did an excellent job in moving right along when she was made to utter a company line, which is totally understandable from her point. Her personality shone through in her responses, and I hope less than a year passes before she is interviewed again. I think that this is another major step forward for TSM. Major props to you, Rob.
Guest Flyboy Posted July 2, 2003 Report Posted July 2, 2003 It would be shame if that wasn't really Trish, however. Great interview either way.
Guest TheGame2705 Posted July 2, 2003 Report Posted July 2, 2003 Great interview Rob, definitely bringing quality to TSM.
Guest treble charged Posted July 2, 2003 Report Posted July 2, 2003 You should have asked her which elementary school she went to.
Guest papacita Posted July 2, 2003 Report Posted July 2, 2003 Rob, you are still the coolest guy I know. Great interview.
Guest Retro Rob Posted July 2, 2003 Report Posted July 2, 2003 You should have asked her which elementary school she went to. Same as you?
Guest Retro Rob Posted July 2, 2003 Report Posted July 2, 2003 Rob, you are still the coolest guy I know. Some people may consider that kind of sad, but I'm flattered.
Guest jericho585 Posted July 2, 2003 Report Posted July 2, 2003 There is absolutely no proof that this is Trish Stratus, and anybody could have pretended to be her (which is most likely the case), so nobody should consider this interview at all. If you want to let people know that this interview is legit, ask for proof from her, like for her to post this interview on the trishstratus.com website.
Guest bob_barron Posted July 2, 2003 Report Posted July 2, 2003 Don't you think WWE would've noticed that the interview was fake the first time Rob did one with Trish Stratus- considering it got a lot of publicity and all.
Guest jericho585 Posted July 2, 2003 Report Posted July 2, 2003 Where did it get publicity? If it did on a major site, then there is still a chance WWE didn't think it was a fake interview. I don't know if every single interview a wrestler gives, WWE knows about beforehand.
Guest JHawk Posted July 2, 2003 Report Posted July 2, 2003 The Torch and 1popup pimped the first interview hard
Guest JMA Posted July 2, 2003 Report Posted July 2, 2003 Hey Rob, great interview. Kudos. You should send this to that wacko Zacalax. It would sure piss him off to learn Trish likes Smart Marks.
Guest bob_barron Posted July 2, 2003 Report Posted July 2, 2003 Where did it get publicity? If it did on a major site, then there is still a chance WWE didn't think it was a fake interview. I don't know if every single interview a wrestler gives, WWE knows about beforehand. Yep- it was pimped on torch, rajah and 1bob- Sites that WWE visit. They would've come across the interview and had it been fake- would've def notified Dames. This IS legit
Guest jericho585 Posted July 2, 2003 Report Posted July 2, 2003 It is very simple: If an interview isn't advertised by WWE, and isn't advertised by an official website of a wrestler, then you should NOT take it seriously at all.
Guest bob_barron Posted July 2, 2003 Report Posted July 2, 2003 So we shouldn't take any of the numerous radio interviews they do on Between the Ropes and No Holds Barred radio? We shouldn't take seriously any of the interviews wrestlers do on radio stations? This interview is legit- I know it hurt to accept. But once you do you can fully appreciate this interview.
Guest jericho585 Posted July 2, 2003 Report Posted July 2, 2003 On any random radio station they could say they had a certain guest, but there is almost always no proof that it is truly them.
