Guest RavishingRickRudo Report post Posted July 2, 2003 Ok, so we have Lesnar -the heel champion- Benoit -the #1 contender- and Angle -The wronged _true_ champion unable to get the title shot-. After the Unforgiven Tag Match w/ Benoit and Angle vs. Brock and Rhyno you have Benoit vs. Brock with Angle helping Benoit train for the upcoming match at Survivor Series (amateur wrestling in particular) - show video of them working out, rolling on the mat, etc. and have Kurt corner Benoit for the match. Benoit wins at Suvivor Series after teasing the Kurt-throw-in-the-towel spot. Benoit promises his first title defense to Kurt but there was an inclusion in the contract that Brock gets a rematch whenever he wants. Steph comes out (if she is still there) and says that Brock can get the rematch, but so can Kurt - 3 way at the Rumble. Benoit wins. Brock vs. Kurt #1 contendership at No Way Out. Draw. Pull a WM 10 and have Benoit vs. Angle and Brock vs. ??? - Angle beats Benoit for the title and it's Brock vs. Angle in the Main. Angle goes over again - new champ. It even goes a 10 year anniversary card out with the shadowing of Bret vs Owen vs Luger vs Yoko with Angle vs Benoit vs Lesnar vs ??? I like it. Anyway i agree with AS on this one and say that ALL the focus should be on Angle vs. Lesnar. Whatever happens, from SummerSlam to Survivor Series you need someone new in the title picture so that Angle/Lesnar doesn't get stale before WMXX And also, I think the main beneficiary from Piper/Hogan leaving will be Matt Hardy. If he feuds for the US title, and with enough time, I can see him getting super heel heat to the point where he becomes a M.E. contender. He's the new HBK, I tells ya! Benoit, however, gets better because of Angles training - adding another dynamic to the Angle/Benoit feud. The main points in this feud are: -Angle can't get the title shot. -Angle trains Benoit, Benoit wins title. -Benoit offers Angle title shot, Brock get's in the way. -WM 20 gets the WM X treatment of 3 matches, but instead of Lex, Yoko, and Hart we have Brock, Benoit, and Angle.
