That's nothing though... ...when I went to see Wrong Turn, a pretty violent rated R horror film, in front of me was a mom/dad/teenage son/and also what had to be at the MOST a four year old. The entire time the child kept begging to be held, kept jumping up and down in the seat, moving the chair up and down, talking out loud about stupid shit, and other things like this. The most annoying thing of it all was that whenever someone was killed in the film, the child would begin to cry asking it's parents "Are they REALLY dead?" and kept screaming out over and over again because it thought the people on the screen were really being brutally murdered. Guest Vitamin X Report post Posted July 3, 2003 (edited) I actually made a list of things that piss me off. I'm going to add a Blockbuster Employee's List of Complaints to that, to update it.. 1. When customers walk RIGHT in the door and ask me if I have a certain well-known movie (for example, Jurassic Park, Terminator, or Saving Private Ryan)...OF COURSE we have it why don't you try actually looking and seeing for yourself you dimwitted fuck? And if it's not there, you just might find another movie you'd be interested in. 2. Somewhat related to the first one, when people bring the coverbox to the front counter and ask me if we have a movie. To these customers I straight up tell them "did you see themovie behind that box?" "no" "well then we don't have it". It's really that simple, folks. 3. One of the worst ones is people bringing the cover box to the front and just leaving it there, or taking various movies and just putting them wherever they see fit. At least they could bring it to the front so the store isn't completely disorganized and looks like crap later. Again, it's really just common consideration, when customers do this sort of thing. I understand we get paid to do our job, but we don't really get paid enough to deal with that AND more.. 4. Customers attempting to argue their way out of late fees and then making a scene about it. This happens quite often. 5. When I'm helping out one customer, and 1-3 more just BUTT in to go out of my way to help them. This is especially aggravating as it just not only shows a lack of consideration for the employee who is trying his best to help out 1 customer, but for the customer he is helping who now has to be delayed because of these assholes who think they're the most important person in the store. Which also leads me to.. 5. Angry people in line, and those who DEMAND and TELL US HOW to do OUR JOB. A common one is when a line is getting a tad long and people start getting angry and telling the manager on duty (which I frequently am) to open up another register when I'm already occupied with various other things. 6. This is one of the worst ones, but when I'm in the area behind the counter (known to Blockbuster employees as the manager pit) that's closed off so that we can't be seen, and customers leaning over the damn wall and asking me questions to help them while I'm visibly on my break, not on duty (like I'm not even in unifrom sometimes), or eating. That's just fucking rude, man. I'm infamous now for when people do this and say "can i ask you a question?" or "let me ask you something" and quickly replying "no!". Sometimes I'll oblige if it really does look like I'm not doing anything on my break, but again, it's rude and very unappreciative. 7. The last one I'm going to list right now (I was going to do the other list which includes everything but Blockbuster customers is apparently long enough) is related to a couple of the other ones, but mainly it's when customers lack common sense and/or apparent reading skills. Remember in Clerks when the video store clerk is listing off complaints about customers, the one wheret he girl says "Where are your new releases?" as she stands right in front of a huge sign that says it? Exactly. We keep our brand new DVDs up at the front counter for loss prevention purposes, and so as to prevent this very thing from occuring, we put a very legible sign that says "Title is located behind front counter". So of course, I have a numerous amount of customers every single fucking day asking me if we have one of these movies up front. Well guy, according to the BIG FUCKING SIGN, I believe we do, and for a reason...My response to the question has been used so many times by now I feel as if I say it robotically "Yes we have it up here, just ask for it when you get to the front."
