Guest JMA Report post Posted July 3, 2003 You complained about Hardyz South Park comment! I couldn't imagine seeing that thin skin on the campaign trail... Actually, he's the one that complained in that thread. It's his own fault he was banned. He broke the rules. End of story.

Guest kkktookmybabyaway Report post Posted July 3, 2003 Good God. OK -- This is the last post I'm ever going to make to you because I'm afraid I'll get banned in the future for saying something "mean." I would also appreciate it if you would ignore me as well. This conversation is aborted now so it won't grow limbs...

This conversation is aborted now so it won't grow limbs... Okay. But I didn't ban him or make the choice to ban him. I just alerted Kahran and DrTom. He was flame baiting me and the rules clearly state that you get one warning. It's his own fault. He made his choice.

Guest Cancer Marney Report post Posted July 3, 2003 please go meet a REAL war veteran and someone who has put their life on the line in hostile territory (emphasis added.) Meet some people who have seen the tracking sights searching for them, who's heard the shots being fired from the trees, who's wondered to themselves if this battlefield is where they're going to die. Mr. Bush may have a lot of heart, but if he is truly the most courageous man you have met, then you need to take advantage of your locale and meet some honest-to-God war heroes in the most real sense. Thanks, I have. My best man served two tours in Vietnam, received five Purple Hearts, and was decorated for exceptional valour three times. He says the same thing. Guest Tyler McClelland Report post Posted July 3, 2003 ...perhaps I'm just an idiot, but I don't get the comparison. How does YANKEE STADIUM (even after 9/11) even COMPARE to Vietnam or Iraq?
Guest Cancer Marney Report post Posted July 3, 2003 Ever heard of a Barrett M82A2? Can you tell me if it's commercially available, how much it costs, what its effective range is, what its penetration capabilities are, the speed of the bullet, and the average effectiveness of LFEs in mock-ups of urban deployments? No? How about the most likely places, historically and then statistically, for a President to be assassinated? The most likely days of the week? The most likely times? Situations? No? Then yes, you are an idiot.
Guest Tyler McClelland Report post Posted July 3, 2003 Then yes, you are an idiot. Yeah, because all of that is common knowledge and the best qualifier to determine idiocy. I DO know that they SIGNIFICANTLY hyped up the increased security before any and all sporting events post-9/11, and your technical babble does not change the fact that, barring an internal conspiracy to smuggle such a weapon into the stadium, an attempt on President Bush's life would have been incredibly and undeniably unlikely at that stadium. Being in VIETNAM would be far more dangerous.
Guest JMA Report post Posted July 3, 2003 Then yes, you are an idiot. Isn't it a little harsh to call him an idiot? He just disagreed with you.
Guest Cancer Marney Report post Posted July 3, 2003 Yeah, because all of that is common knowledge and the best qualifier to determine idiocy. "Common knowledge" is irrelevant. You're pontificating about the likelihood of an attempt on the life of the President, which is something you have no knowledge of. None. Same goes for Vietnam. The al Qaeda sleeper cells we found in the following months were quite capable of carrying out an attack at Yankee Stadium. That is a fact. "Undeniably unlikely?" No more unlikely than airliners being converted into impromptu missiles a month and a half earlier. You're an ignorant inexperienced little twerp carping from the sidelines about things way over your head.
Guest Cancer Marney Report post Posted July 3, 2003 Then yes, you are an idiot. Isn't it a little harsh to call him an idiot? He just disagreed with you. Maybe you'd better try to get me banned too, Sir Galahad. Here, I'll tell you to fuck off, mind your own business, and stick to the topic at hand. That should help you out. Guest Tyler McClelland Report post Posted July 3, 2003 Maybe you'd better try to get me banned too, Sir Galahad. Here, I'll tell you to fuck off, mind your own business, and stick to the topic at hand. That should help you out. Somehow, I doubt that. You've lasted through more ad homs than Banky did, that's for sure.
Guest Tyler McClelland Report post Posted July 3, 2003 "Common knowledge" is irrelevant. You're pontificating about the likelihood of an attempt on the life of the President, which is something you have no knowledge of. None. Same goes for Vietnam. The rate of death was likely higher during the Vietnam war than the rate of presidents dying in Yankee Stadium. Calling me a "twerp" (I like the ad hom attacks, Marney. They really "add" to your argument) doesn't change that fact. It was admittedly dangerous to appear at the stadium, but saying that it was MORE DANGEROUS THAN VIETNAM is absolutely absurd.
