This World Title feud is giving me a headache

If this was a strictly mid-card angle with mid-card guys, I'd be fine with it. But this involves the two biggest stars on Smackdown, who have the potential to have a truly *great* feud, and it's being _wasted_ in stupid comedy angles. These guys are supposed to be main eventing the next PPV? Doesn't look like it to me.

AS- What do you suggest they do, seeing as Lesnar-Angle is probably going to be a Summerslam match, Big Show's added for a triple threat and that Angle/Lesnar have been booked from Wrestlemania as friends. Just...have them fight? Wouldn't that be insulting people's intelligence. Brock/Angle hug at Mania, Angle comes back...Angle hates Brock all of a sudden.

 

They're booking them up as friends, like Choken One's been saying, slowly they start to realise why they hated each other in the first place. Show's jobbing at Vengeance, so they'll do something with that, like Austin/Taker/Kane at Breakdown. Angle and Lesnar double team Show as they are friends, but then the tension starts between them. Angle Slam, Lesnar shoves Angle out of the ring, F-5, 1 2 3, arguement by Lesnar/Angle. But they have to show them as friends so people realise that they are friends.

 

I see where you're coming from about the skits, even though I haven't seen them, but if both men are supposed to be friends, and both are nursing injuries which need to be cleared by Vengeance, what are they supposed to do?

Actually, I was more hoping for SS Main Event to be Benoit vs Lesnar (maybe add Angle there as well) and Benoit finally wins the title.

Hell yeah, turn Brock heel. Have him defeat Angle (sorry Kurt fans) at Vengeance, PREFERABLY without Big Show in the match AT ALL. Have Lesnar / Benoit at SummerSlam. Have Benoit finally win, even if his reign didn't last long.

 

Lesnar / Benoit's never happened. Benoit's never won the title. Lesnar's never tapped. It would be perfect I tell you.

AS is bitching about the content of the Skits which is questionable...

 

They are clearly establishing that they are friends and for that you can't just go "Hey, We're friends" and expect the marks to go "Ok"...Show them bonding and hanging out...They did it right with them making fun but CLEARLY pointing out each other's weakness...

 

If you do my sceneario I gave early in the thread...You get a great set up for the Paranoid Lesnar Angle and subsequent Heel turn.

 

I gave another Scenario a little awhile ago having Benoit/Lesnar/Angle as an Long fued from Slam to Mania...

Adding Big Show to the match isn't that bad of an idea. This match will be a tease that SHOULD lead to the Lesnar/Angle rematch at Summerslam. Who am I trying to fool?

No, I don't think that the match will be wasted if it's on SS. Actually, it still might main event. Usually, the match with the most build is the main event, right? Brock/Kurt would obviously be built more than Triple H vs. Opponent of the Month. Even if it doesn't main event (which I think it would), it still would be on the number 2 PPV of the year. It would either get top spot or second top spot.

 

And the segments weren't really funny. They were in the "so stupid,it's funny" catergory.

You're not gonna see Brock vs. Angle at Vengeance. They're saving that for a bigger PPV like SummerSlam, Survivor Series, Royal Rumble or WrestleMania. That's the biggest match possible for Smackdown and it's not gonna be wasted on a PPV that replaced In Your House. Just wait damnit, they're doing this to show a repoir and friendship between the two, and i dont mind it at all if Brock turns heel on Angle and then the blowoff is the main event of the decade!!!! It's coming AS, just be patient. I understand where you're coming from dude, but he's only been back for a month and they have to build more to set up the heel turn.

I personally have never liked comedy being a selling point for a big main event feud. I like comedy, but ther is a time and a place, if you catch my drift. That's besides the point, though. I don't think as many people wre complaining with Austin/Angle (I'm not really sure mind you, since I wasn't around these parts in 2001) because that stuff was funny. This stuff isn't as funny. That would be my guess.

Raw kind of has to main event a show eventually. SD can't just make it it's bitch every PPV.

They will main event when they have a properly built up feud. You wouldn't think it would be hard, considering they have had since Backlash and still have until SS (which is how far away?). But Brock and Angle has been built up since January and it's rematch since WM.

Don't get me wrong, I think there is a 50/50 chance that they will main, (almost leaning toward maining) but I'm just not happy with the chance that they won't main event the show.
