This World Title feud is giving me a headache

Beer=Badass, Aldult, Macho

Milk=Dorky

I don't understand the problem with Angle drinking milk. Not only does it set him apart but it agrees with his charactor. He's an elite athelete who takes pride in his craft and wants to be the best ever. Drinking beer and becoming an acholic is not going to help him obtain that goal. The milk represents his dedication to a clean diet which helps keep him in shape so that he can be the best that he can be. The WWE haven't really concentrated on the milk being a dork drink lately (which in reality is really a drink more for badass, aldut, macho people while beer is for dorks) so it's okay.

Oh I agree but, I really hated it when during his face run they had him drinking milk Stone Cold and having get all over him. Cause after he spilled the milk on himself and it dried on his skin it looked like Angle was in a gay porn and a bunch of guys cummed on him.

Uhh, never mind.

If making them idiots who play pranks on eachother is the only way to sell a PPV between two faces, why didn't Mania X-Seven BOMB?

Rock and Austin didn't act like idiots.

I think that was his point.

Lesnar and Angle won't be draws neverless in the ROCK/Austin/HHH/Taker/Hogan/Flair sense because Wrestling has lost it's boom...

They are the equal to Hart/HBK or Sting/Vader right now...

just to add to the Milk thing...

Angle MUST be racist because he ONLY drinks WHITE milk. What? Chocolate milk not good enough for you? Fuck you, Racist motherfucker...

SOMEBODY CALL TEDDY LONG right now!

Because it was the biggest two names in Wrestling and wrestling was on the last spot of popularity.

and who stays it's the way to sell it...

You said they can't sell a PPV on two tough competant faces.

I was just saying that per usual you have overblown your gasket yet again for one night where they were clearly showing the friendship of the two...If it continues then you have your case.

So...Wait til next week?

So...Wait til next week?

Essentially, yes. The WWE knows most of its fans would tune in regardless of whether Vince-Zach or Brock-Angle is perceived to be the bigger feud by the creative team.

Sure we'll tune in next week, because many of us always do. That doesn't mean that these segments aren't gay and counterproductive.

I think AS is making light of the usual rhetoric that accompanies insanely dumb and pointless angles and those who criticize them; which is along the lines of "Wait and see what happens"... Not actually talking about the "hook".

Once again...

Where are getting this "gay" vibe from? It's seems to only be you and a select handful that are seeing these skits as the next Billy n Chuck.

Questionably...They may be redundant and counterproductive but there is nothing Homosexual in nature for these two skits.

So it's gay when you friends make fun of each other? Then 99.9 % of Men are fucking flaming homos.

So it's gay when you and your friends have athetlic comps just to show each other up? Then book all the men in the world into a Richard Simmons Weekend retreat.

I can go with the "it was stupid and redundant" arguement but throwing in the "GAY" comment is meaningless and makes you look silly.

Guest RavishingRickRudo

I think he meant "gay" as in "bad"

Though one guy patting another guy until white stuff spewed out and one guy looking at another guy hump the ground is questionable in terms of sexual motivation.

I guess it's boiled down to "wait until next week."

And very, very often, whether you think he's too pessimistic or a troll or whatever--Anglesault ends up being right.

Choken one- I didn't mean gay as in, homosexual, it's literal context.

I'm right every week because it never gets better!

Betting on a situation to "get better next week" is an automatic flop.

I used to think AS was a gimmick poster and a troll.

Then I got to be as bitter as he is.

And honestly, (and Sakura, I'm sure you'll agree with this situation), I am honestly a big wrestling fan.

And the day I realized that the WWF didn't care enough about me, a loyal fan for many years, to put on a dcent show, it hurt. It hurt that I could put so much of my life (not to mention money) towards this for Vince to pretty much say "Go fuck yourself."

But very quickly, that turns into bitterness and anger. And of course, here we are now.

Guest Sakura

Yep, I agree. I am so bitter and angry I actually enjoy waiting Vince fail. It's kinda depressing.

I don't want to see Vince fail, because that means no more wrestling on local television for me unless I move (which I don't want to do until I've met that certain someone, thank you very much).

But you can tell from my recaps how bitter I've gotten, and I cover the less offensive show.

I feel your pain, Anglesault.

I'd hate to know how THAT feels like.

It's called wrestling tapes. Learn them, live them, love them. Expand your horizons. Much better then anything you'd see on WWE TV.

Still, there's only so far you can go without new material.

And the cost isn't fun.

I've got almost 1,000 of them. I probably watch an average of five a week.

That doesn't mean I wouldn't like to set aside a few hours a week to watch new shit without having my intelligence insulted or paying money I don't have for them.

It's not just wrestling. It seems everything isn't great as it once was ya know...

Be It; WWE with all the WCWish antics and the political warfare and lackadasical or down right numbing plots, Baseball with the inability to promote it's rising superstars and update the product. Basketball for it's insistance on marketing rather then letting the game speak for itself (as that has eroded dramatically), Be it Movies for retreating back into the creative void of Sequels and mindless pap.

Be it Politics for buttfucking each sides to an new level where the nation has become apathetic towards it.

Be it Major Corporations taking corporate greed and corruption to an lower and more digusting level....

Religion for becoming a parody of itself.

Nothing is working anymore.

When I get pissed off at these unmotivated builds for matches, I go back and watch SS 2001 with Austin/Angle and watch a well booked feud that told a story and an even better match the narrated one as well. I miss those days when it seemed like the RIGHT people were wrestling on PPVs. Just LOOK at that card. Some guys aren't so great in the ring, but were there to draw the fans (Taker, Kane, APA) , but overall, that sums up around the last time I truly enjoyed wrestling every week.

I find MMA boring beyond all belief. I spent $39.95 a few months ago to get a Pride PPV and I wanted to fall asleep but I wasn't about to waste the money by not watching it.

The best part of the entire thing was watching some guy, Rua I think, go for a takedown, get kneed in the face and knocked out. That sure as fuck wasn't worth $40

I agree with Sakura on two things - about AS and about Vince.

I was actually taken aback at how right AS turned out to be about Sean O'Haire, for instance. Up and down he insisted that he wasn't very good, and I just dismissed him as being AS. Then O'Haire came around with his dazzling array of kicks to the back with chinlocks in between, and he managed to make the best wrestlers SD had to offer look just as bad as he. I came to realize that AS was right all along.

About Vince, what gets me the most isn't the backbiting and politicing, it's Vince's ideals of what I should be watching for, in terms of wrestlers, types of matches, even the skits, and the hypocrisy of their mission statement. I can't recall if it was on Confidential, but it was about Linda having a business seminar, and I turned the channel when she proclaimed that WWE "has something to offer for everyone". While it may not be totally off the mark, the different things offered come in very different proportions. I wouldn't object as much to Vince's decisions if things were at 1998 levels, because I can see that the forumla works, but they aren't and WWE pretends they are.

Anyway, rant over. I just needed to get this off my chest before the start of another work week.

Pride PPV's cost $30 and that's in Canada.

And Rua never got kneed to the face, maybe you're talking about Carlos Newton and that was Pride 25 - which is widely considered to be one of the greatest MMA events ever with exciting fights from top to bottom. You might have to elaborate on this "boring" show cause I don't see any elements to it.

The first fight was very active on the ground and had a sweet armbar finish, the second match had a VERY action-packed 2nd round, the 3rd fight had the aformentioned knee - which was SICK - the 4th fight was also very active and had a wicked ending that I find myself looking at from different angles several times every time I see it, the 5th fight had an upset and was all stand-up but featured some very funny momments, the 7th match featured another sick knockout and one of the most exciting moments in MMA history in the post match antics, and the main event - while mainly in the guard, features some AMAZING ground and pound - and I HATE ground and pound. And then there was the commentary, which was off the charts.

Rua did get knocked out by Kevin Randleman at Pride 24 - but that card had one of the best matches and most active -non boring- matches in Nogueira vs. Henderson.

Yeah, you're going to have to elaborate, what do you find entertaining?

One of the reasons I'd be weary ordering an MMA PPV is the same reason I'm not so hot on ordering boxing.

I don't want to pay X dollars for the "big fight" and watch it last all of three minutes.
