Goodness gracious, no. I believe the general TSM opinion is that he's a complete dickface. Sort of like the dorky zit-faced kid who gets slapped around when anyone notices him, so he tries to start shit with anyone who looks new or vulnerable in an attempt to divert the attention of the pack. But more often than not he still gets his glasses stepped on.

Umm... Yeah. So like, there's a lot of stupid hostility going on... And my personal opinion, and hey it's an opinion, is that it's all quite lame.

 

So check it out... WDI is WDI and TSM is TSM. They are two different entities, and are inhabited by two completely different types of people.

 

If the Smarks (In any form) exists, and if WDI in any form exists, there's always going to be that whole "OMG BOARDWAR!@~!~!~!!~!~!~!!~~!!" thing going on. It just seems like some people are a glutton for that sort of thing, and that's cool and all, but ultimately, what purpose does it REALLY serve?

 

So... Let's just let a spade be a spade, ESPECIALLY because I'm tired of reading that "I got banned at TSM" thread. If you're dumb enough to get banned here, then at WDI, we don't want to hear about it.

 

And that's all I will ever have to say on the matter.

I guess it all comes down to what you prefer. Having posted at all sorts of boards over the years and even trying my hand at running my own, I know that different things are going to appeal to different folks. What one poster finds off-putting about your board, another poster will love. It doesn't make one board better than the other, it's about finding a board that suits YOUR needs and not needing to say "OMG dis board iz betta den yourz, homie!" or trying to drive members who aren't even suited to posting at your board to post there.

 

Some people seem to prefer tons of traffic, millions of members and wading through page after page of idiocy and bullshit to find one good topic that has a 75/25 chance of being turned to dog feces depending on which dumbass out of its million new members decides to ruin the thread first.

 

Other people prefer a smaller community of people that they happen to "know" and have known for years. It may not be bustling with traffic but all the members understand because they all have lives and don't sit at that board refreshing their browser every 10 minutes. I'd say WDI isn't a place for "full-time" posters like TSM has.

 

I'm not taking sides here because I was the biggest detractor of BOTH boards (at least since TSM went to Invision and WDI banned me) for the LONGEST time. But as of right now WDI is suiting my needs more than TSM because even though there's not a new senseless or completely throwaway topic posted every five minutes, the ones that are posted (for the most part) tend to be pretty good and get good long, well-thoughtout replies from the other members. That's all I ever wanted and more often than not that doesn't happen here. This doesn't always happen at WDI, they also like to have FUN~! sometimes, but I think they've managed to find a happy medium.

 

I guess it boils down to this:

 

The old Smarks EZBoard was quite simply the BEST MESSAGEBOARD EVER or at least the best one I've ever been a member of. All the posters that, in my own humble opinion and alot of others' opinions, made it so great now post at WDI or don't post at all. Simple as that. So I could care less about why someone would stick around TSM or find it great because it's got so much traffic or whathaveyou. You really have to re-evaluate your quality vs. quantity issues if that's the only reason you continue to post here.

 

Oh, and one final reason why, at least for me, WDI > TSM.
