Guest kingkamala Posted July 7, 2003 Report Posted July 7, 2003 This thread is a very direct rip off of the thread in the Movie/DVD/TV folder, it's probably been done before here but I think it should be up here again. Anyway I bought 20th Century Masters-The Millenium Collection: The Best of Cream Bad Company-Straight Shooter Bought them both for $5 in Wal Mart's cassette rack.
Guest kingkamala Posted July 7, 2003 Report Posted July 7, 2003 Yes cassettes, no not like 8 tracks. Don't ask me why I don't install a CD player in my car.....I'm too god-damn lazy and cheap.
Guest Kibagami Posted July 7, 2003 Report Posted July 7, 2003 Just picked up Hail To the Thief the other day. It is most excellent so far. K.
Guest BAR Posted July 7, 2003 Report Posted July 7, 2003 'The Final Cut' Pink Floyd 'California Crossing' Fu Manchu 'Only A Suggestion' Hermano
B. Brian Brunzell Posted July 7, 2003 Report Posted July 7, 2003 My most recent pickups were Blackout by the Dropkick Murphys and Life is Killing Me by Type O Negative.
Guest mesepher Posted July 7, 2003 Report Posted July 7, 2003 man, I haven't bought a cd for a long time... probably since May... but then I got a steal by picking up Zappa and the Mothers "Ahead of Their Time" for the blockbuster price of 10 bucks! go me.
Guest Spaceman Spiff Posted July 8, 2003 Report Posted July 8, 2003 Pearl Jam 7/5/03 (big surprise, I know...)
Guest saturnmark4life Posted July 9, 2003 Report Posted July 9, 2003 Tom Waits 'Bone Machine' and 'The Black Rider' Frank Zappa -'Apostrophe (')' Pink Floyd - 'Meddle' The Darkness - 'Permission to Land' Husker Du - 'Candy Apple Grey' British Sea Power 'The Decline of British Sea Power'
Guest Edwin MacPhisto Posted July 9, 2003 Report Posted July 9, 2003 I fully expect you to love Bone Machine because it's awesome and has Waits sounding drunker and scarier and weirder than ever. Mine: The Stooges, Funhouse, and Tricky's Maxinquaye, finally. Funhouse is so unbelievably great. If I ever murder someone and I don't have access to the Queens of the Stone Age's "I Think I Lost My Headache," it's Funhouse all the way.

Just got it today, so I haven't listened to it yet, however flicking through the sleevenotes I see it features Les Claypool and Brain. God bless the HMV sale.

Guest mesepher Posted July 10, 2003 Report Posted July 10, 2003 Paycheck rampage! Dropped like $70 on CDs today. - Oysterhead, The Grand Pecking Order - Rush, Vapor Trails (used) man, those two discs have some fine bass playing on them... two great trios, kicking ass. What do you think of the Rush cd? At first I was a bit upset about a lack of solos... but man, Lifeson keeps busy and Geddy is totally nailing those bass parts... kind of like lead bass. And Neil... yeah
Guest Agent of Oblivion Posted July 10, 2003 Report Posted July 10, 2003 Man, you guys must drop an aweful lot of acid with these musical tastes Not as often as you'd think, but yes. I just recently greatly expanded my collection of Mike Patton material, with the first Fantomas cd, which is great, California, and Mr. Bungle's self-titled, which are both pretty damn good so far, Tomahawk's self-titled, which is also damn good, and FNM's Who Cares A Lot?
Guest saturnmark4life Posted July 10, 2003 Report Posted July 10, 2003 'The Final Cut' Pink Floyd Good man! The 80's Matchbox B-Line Disaster: Horse Of The Dog That worth getting? They've held my interest a bit more than all the other retro styley bands (except the darkness, who rule) and whilst I opted for the polyphonic spree instead of them at Glastonbury I hear they arrived in their car. I like their car.
Guest LJSexay Posted July 10, 2003 Report Posted July 10, 2003 I got the new Sigur Ros album. ahhhhh... love <3
Guest Incandenza Posted July 11, 2003 Report Posted July 11, 2003 I picked up The Fall's This Nation's Saving Grace. Snotty, yet literate, angry Brit rock.
Guest Space_Cowboy Posted July 11, 2003 Report Posted July 11, 2003 Only thing i've bought recently was Outkast's Stankonia.
Guest La Parka Es Mi Papa Posted July 11, 2003 Report Posted July 11, 2003 I have recently acquired Primus's Tales From The Punchbowl. It's a good album, with Professor Nutbutter's House Of Treats being the standout track, in my opinion.
Guest Agent of Oblivion Posted July 11, 2003 Report Posted July 11, 2003 Killer track. For the most part, the cd has GREAT tracks, and throwaway tracks, without much middle ground. It has great bookends with Nuttbutter and Through the Electric Grapevine/Captain Shiner

I like their car. It's ok, but I wouldn't go out of my way to reccomend it yet. A bit samey, but good. Last year at Reading Festival, Ikara Colt got the crowd to invade the stage and go backstage with them. Their rider got finished off pretty quick, so a bunch of us tried to get into the Foo Fighters backstage area. On the way, we met two members of 80's MB-LD, who were great people, and more importantly found their car. Trust me, it is the coolest car in the world!
