Guest razazteca Report post Posted July 8, 2003 There is more than one movie. I liked the Street Fighter II V anime series and the 1st movie had some some good music in it. I have not seen the Alpha movie so I am unsure how bad it is, I think this is the one that was given the bad reviews.
Guest eiker_ir Report post Posted July 8, 2003 i enjoyed too the ''V'' series on TV, and the Alpha movies is bleh. I downloaded this some time ago and am now considering to get the DVD
Guest Karnage Report post Posted July 8, 2003 SF II: The Animated Movie was enjoyable. It mainly focused on Ryu and stuff. There was Dhalsim and Blanka cameos though and Chun-Li had a fight with Vega. I heard it was cut for the North American release and the soundtrack is changed. Guest razazteca Report post Posted July 8, 2003 The soundtrack did have the Seattle bands on it and as for the Chun Li vs Vega fight I am not sure if she was suppose to be naked or what.
Guest eiker_ir Report post Posted July 8, 2003 i think that in the Japanese uncut version ChunLi appears naked taking a shower for about 5-10 seconds thats the only thing thats cut on this DVD i beleive
SpikeFayeJettEdBebop 0 Report post Posted July 8, 2003 You can get the movie uncut. My friend owns it and I saw it on DirectTV on Starz with the shower scene in it. So I assume you can get it unedited. Actually, now that I think of it, I am sure you can get it unedited on VHS, I have seen the unedited version at the video store. Dunno about the DVD version though. The normal movie is PG-13 and uncut...well is obviously uncut. If you have DirectTV check Starz out on Saturday nights, they play it every once in awhile along with X The Movie and Akira.
Rendclaw 0 Report post Posted July 8, 2003 Just like with 99.9% of anime, the original version with subtitles just destroys the americanized version. I loved the V series, and the first movie was wonderful. Great story and music, then the american version comes out and aside from Alice in Chains playing while Ken is driving his Porsche, the rest of the music just sucked, never mind the voice acting. Guest Kagato Otaku Report post Posted July 9, 2003 how's the a/v quality, extras, etc? Picture quality is decent, no complaints. The only language option is English. And the dub's fine. It's not Animaze's best (the same folks who dubbed Bebop, El-Hazard, Ninja Scroll, Trigun, and many others) but it's okay. As Rendclaw says, music has also been replaced. I've seen both versions, and like bits from each. It's all a matter of personal preference. There are hard (as in unremovable) subtitles in the flick. Say for instance, the names of different locations; they’re all overlaid in English. Sometimes these are misspelled, which is annoying, as there's only a few of these interspersed thruout the movie. Extras? There are no extras. There's not even a DVD menu option; the DVD starts as soon as it's loaded in the player. Chapter skip's available, if you want to jump to a certain scene, so that's a plus. Oh, and the DVD is edited a slight bit. The major shower fan service shots of Chun-Li have been cut. If that's one of the main reasons anyone's picking this title up, they best prepare themselves for disappointment.

DrVenkman PhD 0 Report post Posted July 10, 2003 I've had the VHS since 1995, the only reason I ever thought of getting it on DVD was for dual language purposes. Since that's not an option (I believe it was with Alpha.. but the less said there the better) I don't really need to spend more money.
Guest eiker_ir Report post Posted July 10, 2003 i know i can get it in VHS, but i much rather have it on DVD, better quality overall.
