Guest NoCalMike Posted July 8, 2003 Report Posted July 8, 2003 I'll throw my hat in for the yahoo league, but I will be another person recommending the cbssportsline league over yahoo. I did that last year and it was GREAT. EDIT: ANY league that has room for me, I'M IN.
Guest MarvinisaLunatic Posted July 8, 2003 Report Posted July 8, 2003 As if you couldn't tell, my team is Marvin's Madness (for now until I come up with a better name)
Guest Kingpk Posted July 8, 2003 Report Posted July 8, 2003 I'll join Tom's league also, if there's a spot. The Metaluna Mutants shall rise above mediocrity. Joined Raz's league as the Deep 13 Mads (eh, best name I could come up with at 2 AM).
Guest Lightning Flik Posted July 8, 2003 Report Posted July 8, 2003 Yo! I'll join! My team might suck ass, but I'll still be in! Just because it'll be fun being the worst team in the league. Do I go and sign on or is it PMed? I'll just wait for confirmation.
Guest LaParkaMarka Posted July 8, 2003 Report Posted July 8, 2003 I'm in the league. My team name is HHH. See, if I win all my games, it'll be funny. If I lose all my games, it will still be funny. Besides, it's better than "La Parka Markas".
Guest El Satanico Posted July 8, 2003 Report Posted July 8, 2003 I'm in the league. My team name is HHH. it's better than "La Parka Markas". no...no it's not
Guest Will Scarlet Posted July 8, 2003 Report Posted July 8, 2003 I would like to be in one of the leagues, if there's a spot, of course.
Agent_Bond34 Posted July 8, 2003 Report Posted July 8, 2003 I'm in, as well. If there is any room, I'll gladly join.
Guest Flyboy Posted July 8, 2003 Report Posted July 8, 2003 I'm signed up as "Texas Wolverines" if anyone was curious.
Guest DawnBTVS Posted July 8, 2003 Report Posted July 8, 2003 I'll join either 3 leagues depending on which has a spot still open
Guest NoCalMike Posted July 8, 2003 Report Posted July 8, 2003 I'm signed up as "Field of Honor" Hey did anyone have trouble downloading the Java virtual machine? Yahoo says it recommends it if you are going to participate in the live draft. Everytime I click on the link it takes me to the "file not found" page. Maybe it is just a bug since it is still 50 days away from the live draft. I did the live draft last year without a problem but it was through cbssportsline. I will try to download it again later.
Guest Will Scarlet Posted July 8, 2003 Report Posted July 8, 2003 I signed up as the Seoul Emerald Tigers. I can't wait for the season to start.
Guest Lightning Flik Posted July 8, 2003 Report Posted July 8, 2003 You're looking at the Crimson Storm. Although, the Crimson Storm means I'll be the bottom feeder and a bloody mess while I'm at it.
Guest razazteca Posted July 8, 2003 Report Posted July 8, 2003 Some things to think about: QB same as last year +1 for complete pass -1 for incomplete Kickoff & Punt return yards count 40 yards = 1 point 50+ fieldgoals = 5 points Team defense will be rewarded for low scoring games 10 points for shutouts. Starting Lineup QB 1 WR 2 RB 2 TE 1 WR/TE 1 WR/RB 2 K 1 Def 1 Bench 5 Card subject to change if needed

Starting Lineup QB 1 WR 2 RB 2 TE 1 WR/TE 1 WR/RB 2 K 1 Def 1 Bench 5 Card subject to change if needed That sounds good for a starting lineup. Besides, it makes people think about what stuff they decide is more important to them. It's pretty well balanced, makes sense, and frankly does a lot of good. Just curious but will you be able to take a secondary defense, or are you just allowed to pick a single teams defense? Question about field goals. Do you get for FG attempts or completions? Cause how often do FG from 40-49 yards out happen often in an actual game? I'd prefer if it was 30-49 you'd get a point. Or just FG completitions get you a single point, and if over 50 you get 5. Unless you've already got that. I haven't seen the point scoring sheet yet.
Guest cartman Posted July 8, 2003 Report Posted July 8, 2003 Psssst... Can I get in Raza? I mean I am a SmartMarks Fantasy sports Veteran an all... Please???
Guest Dangerous A Posted July 8, 2003 Report Posted July 8, 2003 I'm in as Team 2000 for obvious reasons. Look down there at the sig v for the reason.
Guest razazteca Posted July 8, 2003 Report Posted July 8, 2003 (edited) Field goals stats are: 49 yards and under = 3 points 50+ = 5 points these are not common FG attempts or completions not counted, I might consider negative points for miss FGs. Team defense only. Edited July 8, 2003 by razazteca
Guest El Gigante Posted July 8, 2003 Report Posted July 8, 2003 Scoring and Lineups look good to me. I'm in as the Berzerkers Vikings, for anyone that wondered.
Guest Dangerous A Posted July 9, 2003 Report Posted July 9, 2003 The league is filled up. Have any of you taken a look at Yahoo's rankings list? Some I agree with, but others I scratch my head at. Just for the record, I think Priest Holmes is the top man, unless his hip is still not in good shape from the injury last season. If he's not a go to begin, LaDainian Tomlinson or Marshall Faulk become my personal top guys.
Guest razazteca Posted July 9, 2003 Report Posted July 9, 2003 [LXG Sean Connery]And the league is on[/LXG Sean Connery]
Guest AlwaysPissedOff Posted July 9, 2003 Report Posted July 9, 2003 Since Raz's is filled up, I'll join any other one open if there are still spots. Just hit em up on PM, yo.
Guest razazteca Posted July 9, 2003 Report Posted July 9, 2003 I could expand if you wish, being on the good side of the Mod is a good thing.

I actually put Ricky Williams ahead of Holmes...your number one pick can't be wasted on an a player with a nagging injury. I was pretty suprised to see Portis so high, even though he did have a good season last year. A lot of good QBs are ranked somewhat low, like Steve McNair (who is a pretty good QB IMO). I think it'll be important to show up for that draft...if enough people can't show up, chances are you'll be able to pick up some great players that were somehow ranked low.

What the hell is the draft date yet again? The live draft thingy that is.
Agent_Bond34 Posted July 9, 2003 Report Posted July 9, 2003 What the hell is the draft date yet again? The live draft thingy that is. Raz has it set for August 27th. It can be changed.
Guest Dangerous A Posted July 9, 2003 Report Posted July 9, 2003 I'm hoping for it to get changed to Sat. Aug 30th. More people will be available on a weekend if it's early enough. I still have Priest #1, but I have to wait for the injury report. I like Ricky and his explosion at the end of the season last year is what won me my fantasy league. (along with picking up Clinton Portis off of the free agent list) but the style he runs (power, up and down) may cause him to break down. Ricky is also prone to injuries although last year was his healthiest. I'm surprised Shawn Alexander is still ranked so high. He is good, but top 10?

You might be right however. Could be one of those bugs they'll have fixed sooner or later.
