Guest Trivia247 Report post Posted July 9, 2003 # For those wondering why Goldberg was not on RAW last night, he arrived at the arena with some sort of infection in his arm and had to be taken to the hospital for medical treatment. Due to this, his scheduled segment with La Resistance had to be pulled from the show. No word on the severity of the injury or how long Goldberg will be out of action as a result. # Many of the wrestlers were seen talking about how low the attendance was for the recent string of house shows through Canada. Since low attendance results in a lower bonus for the talent working the shows, many of the wrestlers with low downside guarantee contracts are barely able to cover the expenses incurred on the road. (Thanks to 1wrestling.com) The following is from BretHart.com, the official website of Bret Hart: Regarding Shawn Michaels' comments on the July 7th Raw from Montreal where he stated that he apologized to Bret Hart, brethart.com (Bret's official web site) would like to clarify that Bret Hart has never received any apology whatsoever from Shawn Michaels. For a man who claims to have found God to outright lie to millions of people is disappointing to say the least. Then again, it really isn't surprising when you consider that this is the same Shawn Michaels who swore to God, on video tape, right after the Survivor Series '97 screw job, that he wasn't in on it only to admit, years later that he was in on it all along. If anyone is aware of any apology that Shawn ever made to Bret that was not part of an angle please send us a copy. Thanks to Adrian Phillips for the following report: Billy Kidman was on "The Score" (Canada) last night, as he was in Toronto getting ready for his first match back at the Smackdown today. Here is a brief overview of what he had to say: -The interviewers/hosts were pretty wrestling-savvy and asked some backstage questions. -Talked about how is getting married July 11th to Torrie Wilson, and how they have been engaged a while now because of their busy schedules they didn't want to rush plans for the wedding. -Mentioned his shoulder is feeling good in workouts, and ready to go. -Talked about the Shooting Star Press, and how he saw it done in Japan and thought he'd give it a whirl, as he had some diving background previously. Much harder than it looks. More wrestlers can do it now, than 4-5 years ago, but is a very dangerous move and talked about how D-Lo Brown broke a collar bone and knocked out a couple teeth doing it, how Chris Jericho tried it and broke his arm and said he wouldn't try it again, and how Brock Lesnar got a concussion at WrestleMania doing it. -Was asked if the Cruiserweights were close/friendly, and he said they were as they are a smaller (pardon the pun) community and make up a minority of the roster, so become more familiar with each other and work better together. -Favorite wrestler to work with is Rey Mysterio as they have really good chemistry together, and thinks Rey is a great talent. -Was asked (and then pushed) to say which wrestlers were tough to work with, and he tried to laugh it off, but ended up kind of side-stepping it by saying that Tajiri and Ultimo Dragon can do things that you're not expecting, and you have to be alert and on your toes... but that they are great performers and talents, but if you don't watch it you could become a "pretzel". -Was asked about the cruiserweight division, and how it is viewed, and he hopes that it gets the push as it offers fans a different kind of match/experience and there are a lot more cruiserweights now, and hopefully Vince will use them without having them be squashed unnecessarily (i.e. in a match with a heavyweight that has no purpose to advance feuds) Overall, Kidman came across really well and answered questions honestly (wish he was that good in his Smackdown front row interview last week! :-)). and...MORE notes The word I'm receiving from backstage is that WWE had Jericho turn on the Canadian crowd at the end of the Highlight Reel last night as a way to prevent fans turning him into a face. WWE doesn't want the hometown (or nation, in this case) crowd reaction (which is almost always a face pop) to affect their characters, and had to have Jericho turn on the audience so that none of the face reaction carries over when WWE returns to the US. Of course, the promo was a bit odd, since Jericho went from "Mr. Canada" to suddenly hating Canada, but it was the only way WWE felt they could build up a match between the two (with HBK face and Jericho heel), while also allowing HBK to talk about the screwjob. The USA Today has an article online about Mick Foley and his new book, "Tietam Brown". The article is a pretty interesting read, which contains the facts as to how Mick named the novel "Tietam Brown". Columbus, OH is home to a Smackdown taping this coming Sunday, July 13. However, WWE's television spots are advertising the show for "Sunday, July 14th." Could money around Titan Tower be so tight that they're forcing the promotional department to make due with 2002 calendars? Last night on raw, in the Kansas City area, they advertised they house show at Kemper Arena on Aug.11 with the main event being Kurt Angle vs. Brock Lesnar for the WWE Championship, Undertaker and Rikishi Vs. Big Show and A-Train, and a three way bikini contest with Nidia, Sable, and Dawn Marie. There was a pretty interesting article about life after wrestling in this weeks Creative Loafing in Atlanta. The three people profiled are Abdullah The Butcher, Larry Zybysko and Glacier. Last night's "Best Damn Sport's Show Period" featured a hilarious interview segment conducted by Nasty Boy Knobs at Willie Nelson's 4th of July bash in Texas. It was a lot of fun. Willie Nelson is such a card. Also featured were Merle Haggard and Toby Keith. and the funniest tidbit of the whole section Believe it or not, Buff Bagwell, who had one of the shortest stints with WWE in recent memory, actually has been trying to get rehired by the company. He reportedly called Johnny Ace about returning, but Ace said there was no interest at the present time. - It is said that Bagwell has not matured or learned anything in the last few years, and still feels his look should automatically land him a WWE job. - It should be noted that Buff now resorts to trashing internet journalists to create a buzz hoping the word will get to WWE which would land him a job. Unfortunately for my 'good buddy' Buff, I don't see it happening in the near future, if ever.

Guest Hass of Pain Report post Posted July 9, 2003 It's a good thing Goldberg didn't appear on Raw Monday Night. Scott Steiner was booed out of the building according to HOLT reports and like elephants (with bloated magazine prices), Canadians never forget and would have likely crucified Goldberg as well for ending Bret Hart's career. Guest MarvinisaLunatic Report post Posted July 10, 2003 As per my Smackdown spoilers, Smackdown is taping in Columbus on Sunday because of their Tour over to Thailand and 3 days in Japan next week.

Guest Trivia247 Report post Posted July 10, 2003 And what is so special about Bagwell's look that he should automaticaly be rehired? He's not a HOSS or anything Oh because he is a Bonafide movie star....durrrr I mean Savage Island should rival Mr Nanny! ah hell Bagwell would be seen reasonably talented if it wasn't for the fact that he has a shitty attitude and a overflated opinion about himself in the business. too much nWo exposure warped his brain. Believe it or not, Buff Bagwell, who had one of the shortest stints with WWE in recent memory, actually has been trying to get rehired by the company. If anything, his WAS THE shortest stint with WWE. How could I forget Savage Island? What about "Day of the Warrior" ? >_< It's a good thing Goldberg didn't appear on Raw Monday Night. Guest AndrewisyourHero Report post Posted July 10, 2003 Steiner's one of the saddest tales in wrestling. Back before he discovered he liked roids, and even up to about '96, he was one of the most talented performers I've ever seen. He's had numerous **** matches with his brother vs various opponents. Ric Flair was ready to drop the NWA title to him. Now look at him. He's deteriorated so badly, to the point where all he can do now is throw suplexes. And even then, they're not as well done as before. Just goes to show one of the negative effects of steriods in wrestling..
