Guest bob_barron Report post Posted July 14, 2003 On topic, and I know I've told this before, but at last year's King of the Ring, I was the only person in my section who was rooting for Angle vs. Hogan. So not only was I being told Angle sucks, but some chick two rows behind me tried to reach far enough in front of me to smack me. Hey, it's not my fault I was rooting for the guy who could still walk! For RAW they did Flair/Orton v. HBK/Nash. Well everyone here knows my feelings on HBK so I was booing him and Nash the whole match. This guy behind me keeps calling me a faggot and taunting Flair and then pours water on me and my friend. We just thought it was hilarious and we just booed HBK more

Guest bob_barron Report post Posted July 14, 2003 I wasn't too upset- I was laughing. This guy kept yelling: DIESEL! DIESEL! YEA- DIESEL! I wanted to turn around and go: Congratulations on thinking you have some wrestling knowledge by knowing what Kevin Nash used to be named. Now please shut the fuck up
Guest AlwaysPissedOff Report post Posted July 14, 2003 Heh... you should have told him that at least the guys you were cheering for could take 2 steps without tearing a quad just to rub it in his face.
Lil' Bitch 0 Report post Posted July 14, 2003 This guy behind me keeps calling me a faggot and taunting Flair and then pours water on me and my friend. And you didn't do anything about it? I (and I'm sure just about everybody else on here would have if it happened to them) would have kicked the ever loving shit out of him! "Wine me, dine me, 619 me" Like "Get the F out!", gotta love those take-offs. Yeah, its on his shirts now. I don't see what the big deal about this. Wrestling events/going to the sports bar to watch ppv are the only times I see fit to break out a wrestling shirt, so hell if it's the correct brand. That's way too nit-picky. If said fans were chanting for their wrestler to come out, it'd be a different story. Its not that, of course I'm going to wear a wrestling shirt to a wrestling event. Its just the fact that it was a RAW brand and they were wearing a shirt of a wrestler who ISN'T on RAW. Its like what's the point? Do I care if your favorite wrestler is Hogan? Do you want me to clap for you? Do you want me to throw shit at you? What the fuck you want me to do about it? I mean its like they're expecting him to come out regardless. Or they think if they sport it, he'll just magically appear? I just find it annoying. At least wear a shirt of a wrestler that you like that actually works on the damn show please. Another set of marks that annoy me are the sign holders. Not the ones who bring them to try to get on TV, but the ones who don't realize that either their favorite isn't there or that the cameras won't see it in midmatch. I thought it was stupid to bring signs to house shows, but at the one I went to. HHH vs. Nash was the main event, it was 10 times better than the one at JD, the match was thrown out at the end because Robinson and Hebner were arguing about making Nash the new WHC since he pinned HHH after hitting Gonzo with the belt. Anyway, after the match after Nash left, HHH pointed out a sign that said "Ric Flair is HHH's bitch!" Flair shook his head and gave his classic "NOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!" expression. Then HHH got on the mic and talked shit to that fan. It was funny stuff so after that night, it changed my mind on signs at house shows. RVD loves seeing "RVD 4:20" signs too. On topic, and I know I've told this before, but at last year's King of the Ring, I was the only person in my section who was rooting for Angle vs. Hogan. Hey, it's not my fault I was rooting for the guy who could still walk! Sadly, I was cheering for Hogan. I know how evil is he backstage, but I just love the gimmick so much. Pretty shocking when Angle made Hogan lose by tapping out for the first time in his career.
Guest JHawk Report post Posted July 14, 2003 It's one thing to cheer for Hogan, Rico, but some drunk bitch was actually threatening physical harm because I was rooting for the wrestler to win a wrestling match. I mean, I've always gotten looks for cheering heels, but damn.
Guest Askewniverse Report post Posted July 14, 2003 I know what you mean. I've had people look at me as if I had farted in church because I cheered for the heels instead of the faces. I find it funny that some people will hate someone when he's a heel, but then suddenly love him when he's a face (ex: Rock, Austin, Angle, etc). It's even funnier when they deny ever cheering for a face who has just turned heel, or vice versa.
Lil' Bitch 0 Report post Posted July 14, 2003 Yeah, at the house show I went to, when I was cheering for Rico, Victoria, and Mack / Nowinski in their respective matches, I kinda scared doing it because I was getting "those looks" from people and I seriously thought they were going to beat me up, but I still did it anyway. Guest Thunder Rising!!! Report post Posted July 14, 2003 The only thing I hate worse than a mark, is a smark who gets off by posting about how much THEY hate marks, heh. They are a different breed of wrestling fan. Just either let them be, or try to "teach" them about the industry without fucking with them or making fun of them. We were all marks at one time, and hell, I'd almost love to be back to that point totally. Yeah everyone has a different perspective, there are some that might still think its real, as well as those who have a LITTLE more knowledge of what is going on behind the scenes. So there is nothing wrong with being a mark, we were all once marks.
Guest The Decadent Slacker Report post Posted July 14, 2003 The only marks i've seen, since i've never been to a WWE show (by the time i get the chance for tickets, it's nosebleeds, so i'd be watching the Tron anyway. Fuck that. like it happens now anyway though), aside from idiot friends/aquaintances, are the indy crowd. We had a show, my first wrestling show, where it had guys no one had heard of (Mr. Outrageous was the top guy, for instance), & cheap heat was the only way to get a reaction. Now, my older brother spent the show cheering the heels, & someone threw a cup of piss at him that missed by inches. I, being a perseptive little mark, pointed out that the guys who wore hoods were doing double duty. The people told me to fuck off, then they got unmasked & were shown as the same guy from earlier, & they were silent. Really bad show, actually. There was more (some mark trying to legitimately break up a parking lot angle after the show as everyone was leaving, & getting royally stomped as we drove off, for one), but that's all i remember with clarity. I hate small towns
Adam 0 Report post Posted July 14, 2003 I have a whole lot of fun at Pay Per Views, because in Australia they are now held at the cinema. Its a packed house every time, about 120 people in there, and I just yell out random smark stuff. People tell me to shut up but I take no notice. Chanting 'Tear Your Quad' didn't get a good reactiuon at Bad Blood, and niether did 'Steiner is on Steroids'.

LooseCannon25 0 Report post Posted July 14, 2003 I'm a smartass at WWE shows and tv tapings. At Raw last August in MSG when Kane returned I was cheering CANADA! CANADA!......MY girl told me to shut up cause we were gonna get killed and I looked around to see a bunch of people giving me dirty looks. Anyway, this guy sitting in front of me turns around and asks if I hate USA and love Canada, and I should root for USA in these times. MEanwhile the guy has on a fuckin TORONTO MAPLELEAFS jersey, so i point that out to him, and the guys friend starts cracking up and they both just shut up and turn around. Guest bob_barron Report post Posted July 14, 2003 When I go to shows I usually cheer for faces and the heels- It makes it more fun for me. At MSG I was chanting for Goldberg and was ecstatic when he squashed Rodney Mack. Do I hate Goldberg? Yep- But I had a ton of fun cheering for him. At the Survivor Series I was chanting for Triple H. Just go to live events and have fun- don't try to be different and cheer for the heels and boo the faces just cause of workrate

Let marks be marks, in fact, try to become a mark when you go to a live show. Noone will yell at you if you root for Hulk Hogan. Try it, it is actually fun to root Hogan on as he "Hulks Up". As to my first post... Tounge firmly planted in cheek for that one. Sorry if it didn't come off that way.
