Guest Space_Cowboy Report post Posted July 12, 2003 Very cool to have Sacred back in action, this boosts the Australian contingent in the SWF to it's highest level ever i believe, 4 active at once. And big congratulations to Dave & Va'aiga, doing the seemingly impossible and beating Justice & Rule. And Mak is the 4th person to hold the ICTV Title in the last two and a bit weeks, though writing as good as he is i'm sure he'll slaughter me on Lockdown and go on to have a great reign. Guest Beezel Report post Posted July 12, 2003 Oof. Congrats to Mak, I seem to have a knack of coming just short. Promo-licious reboundage coming in this show.
Guest WrestlingDeacon Report post Posted July 12, 2003 Looked like my karma didn't work for Beezel this time, but maybe now I can shut up about Mak needing to be pushed more. Huge congratulations to Dace and Va'aiga for vanquishing the unvanquishable. The best part being that my individual record for holding the tag belt stays intact a little longer. Ok, so Thoth's not Ronnie Garvin, but maybe he's Ricky Steamboat. Looks like a great show and hopefully I'll have time to read it over later, although I have three mall brawls to keep me warm tonight. In other news, I won. Read the fucker. Guest kelloggs Report post Posted July 13, 2003 Now that I've read the entire show some long winded Franchisable comments are forth coming. Oh yeah, that rendition of the anthem... from back in the day, by Dr. D-R-E owned. I remember when the NWA did a reunion on some USA show... memories. Anyways here are the Franchisable comments, starting with... SINGLES MATCH Nathaniel Kibagami vs. Xero This has to been seen as a match that helps answer the string of losses Kibs has had. One of the good things about his character, is the way that he can go on long losing streaks and still seem credible, because of it's history, particularly his 'monster push' last summer and feud with Edwin and Thoth. Being able to break out a 'Riot of the Blood' and 'Encore Cross' as a part of past storyline history, makes that easy. One of the predictions I did have was that you'd see a lot more of the Silent like character, without Angel around, which I'm fairly sure everyone else thought. It was a squash, plan and simple... and while I particularly hate them, it makes sense, if your trying to build up wins leading to a match with Thoth. NON-TITLE NO DQ MATCH Janus vs. Michael Craven I was in chat when Janus finished his match, which I must once again say is quite the accomplishment. The match is well written, like always, of course. The chair assisted chokeslam was a favorite of mine, as a BRUTAL bump, along with the Knuckle bomb finish, but you just killed the low blow spot for me. It really comes off as a lazy way to transition, twice, instead of a desperate attempt by Craven to stack the odds in his favor. I remember when a low blow used to mean something... heh... I sound like an old school heel. So, in conclusion, other than that one thing, nothing else in this match gave me reason to bitch, but there was a good deal to speak highly on. Dace promo Nice little promo that sets the tone for your BARBARIC tag team match. I wish I hadn't forgotten to post ours. Short, sweet and to the point. SINGLES MATCH Wildchild vs. ? It's fuckin' Sacred. Arguably... no FUCK THAT... he's a hall of famer, I don't need to say much about this match. It says a great deal about Wildchild, if he could come close against him. Honestly, I'm bias. I've always been a Sacred mark because he can tell a story so well. His writing and style just pull you into the match... (see 3, Genesis) if you don't believe me. That show had a ton of great matches and believe me, if Edwin v Raynor hadn't stole the show, Sacred v Axis would have. By the way... CRUEL FATE~!!!1!1 mark the FUCK out people. TAG MATCH The Boston Strangler and TNT vs. Stryke and Longdogger Pete Well, you can tell TNT did the opening and if he didn't, I'll be surprised, because... err... I don't think Strangler writes like TNT. I'll admit to semi-glossing over this because everyone knew the outcome the moment the card went up. I'll just talk about stealing the Sara sequence/Tod trilogy, which is VERY cool by the way and TNT faking the high risk spot, shows he's grown as a character. Another spot I enjoyed was the frog splash cross body, which I have to admit, I've never seen. Another solid effort, but knowing the outcome took away from the match. The rest when I'm not tired, or upset that the Greek pinic was rained out... at least I didn't need to pay for the step show, but still...
Secret Agent 0 Report post Posted July 13, 2003 Oof. Congrats to Mak, I seem to have a knack of coming just short. Promo-licious reboundage coming in this show. Beezel = Chris Raynor
Guest kelloggs Report post Posted July 14, 2003 SINGLES MATCH Frost vs. Renegade Frost writes another solid effort. I liked the fact that this came off as brawl and you put over both characters abilities to do that. One spot that I didn't expect was teh reverse, or is it inverted, snake-eyes. The two near falls helped establish that Renegade can kick out of high impact moves, while you didn't lose any steam on your finisher, since it was able to put him away. It's just a solid all around effort. TAG TEAM TITLES MATCH Justice and Rule vs. the Unholy Trinity (Dace Night and Va'aiga) *Ahem* BOW DOWN MAG 7 BITCHES~! I was pleasantly suprised that the Trinity pulled off the win here. I picked them to win too, kinda'. Solid double teams. The referee FINALLY catching Justice and Rule mid cheat, and an Ax kick into a face first powerbomb, huh? Uh, OUCH? Honestly I like the undercurrent of this match, which was kinda' like J&R, think their the most dominate tag team, but get a surprise as their opponents dominate and even their cheating, which they can ALWAYS fall back on, seems to backfire. At least that's what it seemed like. I liked the Brainbuster rolled through into a Maori Drop from a suplex, as a false finish, but if Va'aiga did it, I would have seemed more credible. Other than that it was a REALLY well done match, it beat J&R so it had to be. ICTV TITLE LADDER MATCH Beezel vs. "The Franchise" Mak Francis I liked my crazy ladder bumps and any comments would be apperciated. I didn't have much time to touch it up and edit, but I liked what I did. MAIN EVENT WORLD TITLE SUBMISSIONS MATCH Thoth vs. "The Superior One" Tom Flesher Well it's apparent that Thoth and Kibs want to have a match for the title at some point soon. Run in death for Flesher. Not much to say except I'm pleasantly surprised with Thoth's return at 3-0 and am glad he got to re charge his batteries. And so ends my Franchisable comments, now get off your asses and do the same thing I did... comment on the show.
Guest Dace59 Report post Posted July 14, 2003 The reason I hade Dace do the Brainbuster to Suplex Maori Drop is that he's the more chain wrestling type, and part of his rare move list is all of Danny and Va'aiga moves, as they're a stable. You may have noticed I've started busting out Danny's Elbow Sucidia at times, and teasing other moves from both guys.
Guest Beingz0wningj00 Report post Posted July 15, 2003 Sacred vs. Wildchild... simply put this way... on Lockdown... I think I be fucked. As for the Mak and his ladder! Well... the drop toe hold spot was overdone with nothing coming out of it. I wish you countered one of them or something... or made a but more of a comment on it. Other then that, some innovative spots, well done writing the replay, with the way it was done, it didn't seem like it was there for filler. Props for that. I was a little disappointed finish... it didn't quite have the climax for this match. The end was the end and that was all... it didn't seem, at least to me that is... that in any other part in the match, I could be "That's it, it's over!" I guess a false finish is what I am looking for. Like having them touch the title just not getting a grip sort of deal... Fun match regardless... More comments... ah who am I fucking kidding. I got a match to write.
