Guest GameCop Posted July 15, 2003 Report Posted July 15, 2003 it means RELIGION. Ariba la raza means VIVA OUR RELIGION. It's a nationalistic pride thing.
Guest hosserific Posted July 15, 2003 Report Posted July 15, 2003 its raZa? i always thought it was with an s
Guest CoreyLazarus416 Posted July 15, 2003 Report Posted July 15, 2003 La Raza = The Race. "Viva La Raza" means "Long Live The Race." It's a Hispanic thing.
LooseCannon25 Posted July 16, 2003 Report Posted July 16, 2003 It means "Hispanic people and life of the new world"....In other words it's about pride and sharing the traditions with the rest of the world. It does not mean "the Race" which excludes all other races
Guest HellSpawn Posted July 16, 2003 Report Posted July 16, 2003 Its like Go Yankees! Or Vive le France ! But directed to Latino People.
Guest razazteca Posted July 16, 2003 Report Posted July 16, 2003 Its all about Latino Heat Pride! Konnan.......I don't know who he is.
Guest Steviekick Posted July 16, 2003 Report Posted July 16, 2003 Well I'm glad this is all straightened out. I can sleep safely now
Adam Posted July 16, 2003 Report Posted July 16, 2003 I always wondered that. Thank you, thank you so much.
Guest Choken One Posted July 16, 2003 Report Posted July 16, 2003 Still need to know what "BOWDY BOWDY ROWDY ROWDY" Means...
Guest BDC Posted July 16, 2003 Report Posted July 16, 2003 As soon as I saw the title, I knew we'd have a mistranslation in here.
Guest oldschoolwrestling Posted July 16, 2003 Report Posted July 16, 2003 Stolen from somewhere: The term "La Raza" has its origins in early 20th Century Latin American literature, and translates into English most closely as "the people," or, according to some scholars, "the Hispanic* people of the New World." The term was coined by Mexican scholar José Vasconcelos to reflect the fact that the people of Latin America are a mixture of many of the world's races, cultures, and religions - Europeans, Africans, and Native Americans; Arabs and Jews; "old world" and "new world." Subsequent scholars built on this idea, pointing out that no other area of the world had experienced such a mix of race and culture. Some people have mis-translated "La Raza" to mean "The Race," implying that it is a term meant to exclude others. In fact, the full term coined by Vasconcelos, "La Raza Cósmica," meaning the "cosmic people," was developed to reflect not purity but the mixture inherent in the Hispanic people. This is clearly an inclusive concept, meaning that Hispanics share with all other peoples of the world a common heritage and destiny, and that Latinos provide an example of a world in which traditional concepts of race can be transcended.
Guest mach7 Posted July 16, 2003 Report Posted July 16, 2003 Still need to know what "BOWDY BOWDY ROWDY ROWDY" Means... It's "Bout it" not "bowdy"...
Guest Showstoppa Icon Posted July 16, 2003 Report Posted July 16, 2003 Still need to know what "BOWDY BOWDY ROWDY ROWDY" Means... It's "Bout it" not "bowdy"... i thaught it was "boudy boudy" untill i saw it written in a chris jericho speech about a month ago.

Guest cabbageboy Posted July 16, 2003 Report Posted July 16, 2003 Konnan is very disturbing isn't he?
Guest Choken One Posted July 16, 2003 Report Posted July 16, 2003 It was always disturbing to hear Konnan say that as MYSTERIO and KIDMAN bounced around with him with a HUGE FUCKING grin on their respective faces... Disturbingly Creepy.
Guest Slapnuts00 Posted July 17, 2003 Report Posted July 17, 2003 Hey Tygress, you like this hat? Feel. THATS ENOUGH!
Guest Choken One Posted July 17, 2003 Report Posted July 17, 2003 I think and this is being honest... Konnan needs to be a Manager in WWE...no wrestling of course but give him his own stable of Filthy Animals and it's good times again.
Guest BDC Posted July 17, 2003 Report Posted July 17, 2003 NO! If I never see that shaved orangutan again I can live happily.
LooseCannon25 Posted July 17, 2003 Report Posted July 17, 2003 I used to mar out for that line he used to pull on Tygress every week "Hey Tygress, you like my new shirt. Feel.....Das Enuuuuuuuuuuuuuf" Funny thing is that Konnan was actually a pretty good damn worker in Mexico and WCW when he debuted. He just went to shit for some reason
LooseCannon25 Posted July 17, 2003 Report Posted July 17, 2003 He learned the HOGAN AND NASH way. You're probably right.......it's weird cause he went from good worker to total crap in no time.
Guest Choken One Posted July 17, 2003 Report Posted July 17, 2003 Can't blame the guy... Rey was outclassing him anyways...you an over guy because of your kooky mexican slang...WHY BOTHER putting an effort.
Guest razazteca Posted July 17, 2003 Report Posted July 17, 2003 Still need to know what "BOWDY BOWDY ROWDY ROWDY" Means... It's "Bout it" not "bowdy"... i thaught it was "boudy boudy" untill i saw it written in a chris jericho speech about a month ago. Its lyrics from a Master P song that was popular at the time. Master P - Bout it bout it download it now
Guest AlwaysPissedOff Posted July 17, 2003 Report Posted July 17, 2003 Well... "Bout It, Bout It" came out(as a single) like 2 years before Konnan started using it. As for what it means: "Bein' Bout it means that you down to do whatever."
Guest Raven_Effect01 Posted July 17, 2003 Report Posted July 17, 2003 What does ass mean in Spanish? Every time I try to convert it from English to Spanish, it always gives me "como", which actually is a common term used in Spanish which means "as".
Placebo Effect Posted July 17, 2003 Report Posted July 17, 2003 Does anyone remember when WCW had their "press conference" to announce that Master P was coming to WCW, and Gene Okerlund did the introduction. "He's the singer and songwriter of 'I Miss My Homies..." You don't know how odd it is hear that coming from Okerlund.
