Ultra Violence Posted July 16, 2003 Report Posted July 16, 2003 I have been wondering if there are actually any good hoss's, maybe working the indies. There has to be someone more talanted than Big Show / Anal Train. So are good and hoss a contradiction in terms?
Adam Posted July 16, 2003 Report Posted July 16, 2003 Agreed, Vader is a good Hoss. Taker was good for a while.
Guest Boomer Sprinklespax Posted July 16, 2003 Report Posted July 16, 2003 (edited) Vader, the first five years of 'Taker, Lesnar (althought many might dispute that), and I don't personally mind Kane too much. EDIT: I'm also personally digging Abyss in TNA, though he hasn't been tested at all yet and thusly cannot really be said to be good or bad yet. Also, Amish Roadkill is pretty damned good for being a big fat guy, as was Balls Mahoney when he wasn't just doing garbage hardcore stuff. DOUBLE EDIT: A-Train. There, I said it. I like the guy. :::goes to take a shower::: Edited July 16, 2003 by DropToeHoldOntoChair
Guest Korgath Posted July 16, 2003 Report Posted July 16, 2003 I'm a Kane mark, actually... but that Elimination Chamber match did make him lose some credibility.
Guest KingOfOldSchool Posted July 16, 2003 Report Posted July 16, 2003 Hell, anyone not named HBK or Triple H lost credibility in that match. The four guys who weren't those two were just... there. And I have to give mention to Stan Hansen here.
Guest Thunder Rising!!! Posted July 16, 2003 Report Posted July 16, 2003 Vader, hands down. Nobody better than him.
Guest JaKyL25 Posted July 16, 2003 Report Posted July 16, 2003 Hell, anyone not named HBK or Triple H lost credibility in that match. The four guys who weren't those two were just... there. One other thing that did gain some credibility back (or at least would have if anyone had noticed it) was the Lionsault. Jericho got TWO pins with it in one match. Besides that, how far back do we have to go to amass 2 Lionsault pins at all? Anyone have any word on how good/bad Matt, the Unofficial Tough Enough 3 Hoss, turned out to be?
Guest Choken One Posted July 16, 2003 Report Posted July 16, 2003 I wouldn't say he was a hoss...as he was Pretty Much hardy but with blonde hair... If you mean MATT FROM SEASON 2 who got hurt...No idea.
Adam Posted July 16, 2003 Report Posted July 16, 2003 I mark out for Kane, so he goes on my list too.
Guest Choken One Posted July 16, 2003 Report Posted July 16, 2003 Everyone and their blind grandmother know Vader stands above all Hosses. We really need to figure what's the tru hoss is... Does Mike Awesome Count? He is the same size as Kane and Taker but doesn't wrestle that same way...
Adam Posted July 16, 2003 Report Posted July 16, 2003 I'd count Mike Awesome, but only in his Japan and ECW days.
Guest Choken One Posted July 16, 2003 Report Posted July 16, 2003 Yes...Pretend Fat Chick Thriller never happened.
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Posted July 16, 2003 Report Posted July 16, 2003 I saw Abyss work a long match on the IWA tv show, and I think he's a pretty good big man. He hasn't had the opportunity to do that in TNA yet but I think he's got some legit talent. Nothing close to Vader though.
Guest Choken One Posted July 16, 2003 Report Posted July 16, 2003 Kane should get some love I think...I always thought he can bust some good shit but his character holds him back...
Guest bababooey Posted July 16, 2003 Report Posted July 16, 2003 stan hansen, vader, takayama, samoa joe
Guest Kahran Ramsus Posted July 16, 2003 Report Posted July 16, 2003 I used to like Fit Finlay & Scott Norton in addition to those already mentioned.
Guest Ripper Posted July 16, 2003 Report Posted July 16, 2003 Albert is actually a good big man. Way over critisized.
Guest Randy Pan Posted July 16, 2003 Report Posted July 16, 2003 It's definitely Vader Time. If you want to talk indies - Samoa Joe.
Guest Vyce Posted July 16, 2003 Report Posted July 16, 2003 I used to like Fit Finlay & Scott Norton in addition to those already mentioned. Would Finlay be considered a hoss? I never thought he was really much of a big guy. And I don't know, I wouldn't really classify Samoa Joe as a hoss either. He's a bigger guy, but I don't think he really wrestles a hoss-like style. I agree with Choken - Kane is an example of who I think is a good hoss. I've never really had a problem with Kane. He's generally been able to work decent to good matches with his style, which is more than can be said about many hosses.
Guest BigPoppaKev Posted July 16, 2003 Report Posted July 16, 2003 I'd have to throw in Steve Williams circa early 90's All Japan. He was just bitchin' back in the day.
Guest RavishingRickRudo Posted July 16, 2003 Report Posted July 16, 2003 Guys, listen, there are like a dozen Albert fans on this board - it's not really that taboo to like him. Hansen, Spivey, Gordy, Doc, Vader...
Guest Plushy Al Logan Posted July 16, 2003 Report Posted July 16, 2003 Vader Taker Kane Um...........that's about it.
Guest Trivia247 Posted July 16, 2003 Report Posted July 16, 2003 We should make a Mock ahem tribute page devoted to the Hosses of wrestling.
LaParkaYourCar Posted July 16, 2003 Report Posted July 16, 2003 Vader, Stan Hansen, etc. Pretty much what everyone else said. Those guys were Hosses who knew how to work a match. That's the problem with most WWE hosses. They don't know how to work a match and make it look good. They're doing power moves for the sake of doing power moves. A-Train is growing on me since he is improving.
Guest The Upright Man Posted July 16, 2003 Report Posted July 16, 2003 The only guy I can think of right now who hasn’t already been mentioned is Hotstuff Hernandez. That fucker can fly.
Guest eiker_ir Posted July 16, 2003 Report Posted July 16, 2003 Vader Taker sometimes Kane is decent Albert is not that bad
