Guest Youth N Asia Posted July 17, 2003 Report Posted July 17, 2003 Plus there's always goign to be new guys coming in. And with 1 major wrestling company going in the states more guys are going to lose jobs
Guest CanadianChick Posted July 17, 2003 Report Posted July 17, 2003 Edge and Christian are both going to be 30 by the end of this year.
LooseCannon25 Posted July 17, 2003 Report Posted July 17, 2003 Oh,ok........I see Edge still being around by then....i dont know about Christian
Guest Jobber of the Week Posted July 17, 2003 Report Posted July 17, 2003 I'm going to promise you guys something: Barring any career-ending injuries, John Cena is going to be the new Rocky by WM 25. That guy has so much undiscovered ability and they haven't pushed him down our throats ala Lesnar who climbed to the top of the mountain before he actually got over (as a babyface, even.) Linda, Hunter, and JR can go on about Randy Orton all the fuck they want. I guarantee Cena will be massive in a few years.
Guest JaKyL25 Posted July 17, 2003 Report Posted July 17, 2003 While it's true that the only people who have stayed consistently on the WWE roster since '93 are Undertaker and Billy Gunn, keep in mind that this was in the era of major competition, thus creating the perfect opportunity for bridges to be burned. If/when another fed becomes powerful enough to be a WCW-level competitor for WWE, then we can start really questioning who will be there and who won't be. Since I don't see that happening for at least another 5 years, probably longer, I think that most of the roster who are under 30 now are (barring injury) good bets to still be around come WM XXX. Jericho's what, 31? 32? He'll probably still be around in some capacity too.
LooseCannon25 Posted July 17, 2003 Report Posted July 17, 2003 For some reason I think the 5 biggest stars in the WWE by WMXXX will be : Brock Lesnar, John Cena, Matt Hardy, Edge, and Shelton Benjamin
Guest CanadianChick Posted July 17, 2003 Report Posted July 17, 2003 For some reason I think the 5 biggest stars in the WWE by WMXXX will be : Brock Lesnar, John Cena, Matt Hardy, Edge, and Shelton Benjamin I wouldn't mind that a bit.
Guest Stunt Granny Posted July 17, 2003 Report Posted July 17, 2003 How many people can you name that were around in '93 and are still with the company? Undertaker HBK Nash Lawler Ross Who else?
Guest Youth N Asia Posted July 17, 2003 Report Posted July 17, 2003 With the exception of Taker (and Shawn...kinda) the others left or were fired from the company at one time.
Guest Choken One Posted July 17, 2003 Report Posted July 17, 2003 How many people can you name that were around in '93 and are still with the company? Undertaker HBK Nash Lawler Ross Who else? Holly. He signed late 1993.
Guest JaKyL25 Posted July 17, 2003 Report Posted July 17, 2003 IIRC, Holly's on-screen debut was at the '94 Rumble. When was he signed in '93? Really late, I assume? Who then would have ever guessed that the Holly name would live on for so long? Actually, now that I think about it, no one. He debuted as Thurman "Sparky" Plugg.
Guest Choken One Posted July 17, 2003 Report Posted July 17, 2003 Does It matter? The fucker been there a long ass time...but then again he been gone for like 18 months... If we can thank Kurt for anything...it's putting that bastard out of the ring.
Guest Choken One Posted July 17, 2003 Report Posted July 17, 2003 Just to add... Yes I know those were seperate incidents (The Angle Caused Injury and his current) but still wanted to thank Angle.
Guest Anglesault Posted July 17, 2003 Report Posted July 17, 2003 It was TEAMWORK~! from Kurt and Brock.
Guest CanadianChick Posted July 17, 2003 Report Posted July 17, 2003 And I'm sure they are just so proud of themselves!
Guest Choken One Posted July 17, 2003 Report Posted July 17, 2003 Well aren't They just one Happy Rainbow Wrecking Crew?
Guest Fook_Hing_Ho Posted July 17, 2003 Report Posted July 17, 2003 How many people can you name that were around in '93 and are still with the company? Undertaker HBK Nash Lawler Ross Who else? Hogan Flair (although he was only around for the first three weeks of 93)
Guest Deviant Posted July 17, 2003 Report Posted July 17, 2003 Amazing how a love for hurting Bob Holly is more credible in making them appear to be good friends than all of WWE's attempts to do so. I don't think Jericho will be at WM XXX, I think he will know when it is time to step out and won't have an ego keeping him there. Unless he doesn't actually get worse over time... I think a fair few will remain, although it is impossible to predict who. We can dream though. What are the odds of some form of porn or at least full-fledged nudity at XXX. It almost wouldn't be complete without it. And WMXXX will more than likely be at the Garden.
Guest geniusMoment Posted July 17, 2003 Report Posted July 17, 2003 I really believe HHH will still be headlining. His idol is 53 and still going. He is only 34 and at 44 would still have 9 years to go before even reaching Flairs current age. I just hope he has dropped the title once or twice in this time period.
Guest Jobber of the Week Posted July 17, 2003 Report Posted July 17, 2003 And WMXXX will more than likely be at the Garden. Vince will probably be dead or on life support by the time WMXXX rolls around. At least, I doubt he'll look as good as Blassie did during the past several years.
Guest Choken One Posted July 17, 2003 Report Posted July 17, 2003 Vince will be 67...Likely he'll stay pretty healthy as he works out like a mofo. But likely...Shane or :Shudder: Stephanie will be running the show by then. WMXXV and WMXXX will get MSG.
Guest Youth N Asia Posted July 17, 2003 Report Posted July 17, 2003 You can't count Hogan and Flair cause they jumped ship. I meant still with the company like they've been there all along. Brawler
Guest Askewniverse Posted July 17, 2003 Report Posted July 17, 2003 How many people can you name that were around in '93 and are still with the company? Undertaker HBK Nash Lawler Ross Who else? Howard Finkel. The only man to make an on-screen appearance at every WrestleMania.
Guest Youth N Asia Posted July 17, 2003 Report Posted July 17, 2003 Since Howard won't be working a match I don't think that he fits into the argument
Guest Goodear Posted July 17, 2003 Report Posted July 17, 2003 Only person still on the roster from Wrestlemania X that no one has mentioned was Shawn Michaels, but he had to take something like 3 years off to do it.
Guest Spaceman Spiff Posted July 17, 2003 Report Posted July 17, 2003 If you look age wise then these guys would still be in their 30's at the time of WXXX: Brock Lesnar, Matt Hardy, Rey Mysterio, Brian Kendrick, Batista, Jamie Knoble, Billy Kidman, Haas, Benjamin, John Cena, Rhyno, Randy Orton, LA Resistance, Christian, Edge A couple points: --No way Misterio's knees last that long. --Batista has been injury prone already, so it's doubtful he'd be around. Plus, I think he's already at least 30 years old.
LooseCannon25 Posted July 17, 2003 Report Posted July 17, 2003 If you look age wise then these guys would still be in their 30's at the time of WXXX: Brock Lesnar, Matt Hardy, Rey Mysterio, Brian Kendrick, Batista, Jamie Knoble, Billy Kidman, Haas, Benjamin, John Cena, Rhyno, Randy Orton, LA Resistance, Christian, Edge A couple points: --No way Misterio's knees last that long. --Batista has been injury prone already, so it's doubtful he'd be around. He's still around
rising up out of the back seat-nuh Posted July 17, 2003 Report Posted July 17, 2003 Rikishi was in The Headshrinkers in 1993 wasn't he? And when did Hunter debut?
Guest Zack Malibu Posted July 17, 2003 Report Posted July 17, 2003 Hunter came in spring of '95. Oh, and as for Wrestlemania 30, I guarantee there's a match that centers around a Billy Gunn push of some sort, be it a competitor/manager/return...whatever. It's Billy Gunn. He'll be there. Face it.
