Guest Lil Naitch Posted July 18, 2003 Report Posted July 18, 2003 From 411mania: WCW Booked For New Years In Georgia Posted By Widro on 07.18.03 Interesting link could lead to new speculation... Thanks to 411 reader Paul W. for sending this in: Ticketmaster has listed WCW World Championship Wrestling for january 1, 2004 in the Columbus Civic Center in Columbus, GA. No idea what it could be, but it certainly could be an interesting look at possible future WWE booking. -Discuss
Guest Mattdotcom Posted July 18, 2003 Report Posted July 18, 2003 Oh, my God. Bret Hart is coming back to lead the InVasion!
Guest caboose Posted July 18, 2003 Report Posted July 18, 2003 This happened once before where there was a WCW show booked for last july, but that was just a mistake. I'mo not sure what to make of this, it could be cool but what happened last time has more than killed the WCW name...
Guest Eagan469 Posted July 18, 2003 Report Posted July 18, 2003 January 1, 2004 is a Thursday. My theory: Bischoff goes to Smackdown sometime in the next 3-4 months. Vince says the brand-extension runs out on December 31, 2003, and Bischoff says that on January 1st there will be "change". Change = live edition of Nitro on January 1st, and the rebirth of World Championship Wrestling in Georgia. That way the brand extension gets freshened up a bit with WWE vs. WCW. Vince is the head of RAW/WWE, and Bischoff is the head of Nitro/WCW. ...or maybe it was just a typo
Guest FeArHaVoC Posted July 18, 2003 Report Posted July 18, 2003 January 1st, 2004 falls on a Thursday.
rising up out of the back seat-nuh Posted July 18, 2003 Report Posted July 18, 2003 WCW vs WWE would be a hell of a lot better than Smackdown vs Raw.
Guest razazteca Posted July 18, 2003 Report Posted July 18, 2003 Will Metallica be preforming that night?
Guest GameCop Posted July 18, 2003 Report Posted July 18, 2003 Hmmm... it's on New Year's day, the event is in Georgia, and it's on Thursday. January 1st = Beginning of a New Era (WCW or WECW) Georgia = WCW country Thursday = What was previously Smackdown will be replaced by either Nitro or Thunder The pieces fall too convieniently into place for this to be JUST a mistake.
Guest MarvinisaLunatic Posted July 18, 2003 Report Posted July 18, 2003 Its kind of funny because, Smackdown is chock full of old WCW stars, yet Bischoff is on RAW. Maybe instead of HHH going to Smackdown, Stephanie goes to RAW and trades places with Bischoff???
Guest EternallyLazy Posted July 18, 2003 Report Posted July 18, 2003 WCW vs WWE would be a hell of a lot better than Smackdown vs Raw. I dont think so. Same creative team... it would be like Raw vs. Smackdown except change the names and only the names to WCW vs. WWE. It would suck just as much as things now
rising up out of the back seat-nuh Posted July 18, 2003 Report Posted July 18, 2003 WCW vs WWE would be a hell of a lot better than Smackdown vs Raw. I dont think so. Same creative team... it would be like Raw vs. Smackdown except change the names and only the names to WCW vs. WWE. It would suck just as much as things now I meant it would be an actual rivalry, as opposed to just 2 WWE shows competing for... I dunno, why is there a rivalry anyhow? Ratings or something?
Guest The Amazing Rando Posted July 18, 2003 Report Posted July 18, 2003 ^ Shhhhhh.... don't mention that they don't know why they fight. Though we should assume it's ratings/$$/adverstising
Guest undisputedjericho Posted July 18, 2003 Report Posted July 18, 2003 But they advertise on eachother's shows.
Guest Tony149 Posted July 18, 2003 Report Posted July 18, 2003 This happened once before where there was a WCW show booked for last july, but that was just a mistake. I'mo not sure what to make of this, it could be cool but what happened last time has more than killed the WCW name... That was two years ago during the WCW invasion, and it wasn't a mistake. WCW would of been up and running but TNN wouldn't give them a timeslot, so they cancelled it.
Guest Retro Rob Posted July 18, 2003 Report Posted July 18, 2003 Enough with the WCW crap already. It's time to move on and get the company over again by booking compelling storylines.
Guest Showstoppa Icon Posted July 18, 2003 Report Posted July 18, 2003 umm.........its a mistake. Vince doesnt plan one week ahead, nevermind 6 months ahead.
Guest Steviekick Posted July 18, 2003 Report Posted July 18, 2003 The only way that I would be happy by this is if they gave the "WCW" brand a completely different writing staff so It would be different. I miss WCW.
Guest Lightning Flik Posted July 18, 2003 Report Posted July 18, 2003 WTF? WCW is supposedly being revived??? ...whatever... I'll believe it when I see it. And the only way this could be true is... Aw fuck, it all make sense now. You have Linda coming this Monday right? She's supposed to fire Austin right? Well, all I gotta say is, if she IS firing someone, and that person is Bischoff... Well... Even I gotta admit that things add up...
Guest BobBacklundRules Posted July 19, 2003 Report Posted July 19, 2003 Will Metallica be preforming that night? No I thought that the brand split was just a transition from the failed invasion angle to a new "split" anyways. Vince has been wanting to do this for a while now, and if this is true he might have found his time to do it. I think it will suck. EVERYONE knows that no matter who wins the "federation wars", all the money goes back to Vince.
Guest Memphis Posted July 19, 2003 Report Posted July 19, 2003 This happened once before where there was a WCW show booked for last july, but that was just a mistake. I'mo not sure what to make of this, it could be cool but what happened last time has more than killed the WCW name... Who the hell mistakes WWE for WCW? Espicially when you WORK for WWE? If there is such a retard, I'd be interested in meeting them. M
SpikeFayeJettEdBebop Posted July 19, 2003 Report Posted July 19, 2003 I hope WCW returns...I actually liked them alot compared to WWF/E. I always had throught they were better. Better Light weight division IMO too. Althought WWE did have and ultimatly MIS-USE Taka.Damn.......My TNA First IMpressions will be up later tonight.
Guest The Hollywood Fashion Plate Posted July 19, 2003 Report Posted July 19, 2003 Here's the Ticketmaster link in question: Click Here
Guest CanadianChris Posted July 19, 2003 Report Posted July 19, 2003 Who the hell mistakes WWE for WCW? Espicially when you WORK for WWE? If there is such a retard, I'd be interested in meeting them. Two words... "Wallet inspector."
Guest Retro Rob Posted July 19, 2003 Report Posted July 19, 2003 I don't know exactly what this means, but on the TM page it says: COLUMBUS CIVIC CENTER WRESTLING WWE 2002 4 PRICE LEVELS REVISED 10/17/02 RRR
Guest The Czech Republic Posted July 19, 2003 Report Posted July 19, 2003 I don't know exactly what this means, but on the TM page it says: COLUMBUS CIVIC CENTER WRESTLING WWE 2002 4 PRICE LEVELS REVISED 10/17/02 RRR It must be the handiwork of RavishingRickRudo, or Triple H has adopted a Scooby-Doo voice.
Guest RavishingRickRudo Posted July 19, 2003 Report Posted July 19, 2003 IT WAS ME!!! IT WAS ME ALL ALONG! *puff of smoke*
Guest BobBacklundRules Posted July 19, 2003 Report Posted July 19, 2003 Well on 10/17/02 there was a Smackdown, but it was in Toronto, and it was taped.
Lil' Bitch Posted July 19, 2003 Report Posted July 19, 2003 I agree with it being an error. Vince is against bringing back WCW or anything related to it.
Guest Retro Rob Posted July 19, 2003 Report Posted July 19, 2003 Fucking Ticketmaster is listing a show that doesn't even exsist, but still hasn't picked up the Nassau house show in August, in which tickets are going on sale next weekend.
