TheFranchise 0 Report post Posted September 22, 2004 Sports Interactive (Developers) split up with Edios (publishers). Edios kept the Championship Manager name, Sports Interactive kept the code. Sports Interactive are creating Football Manager 2005, which will be great. Edios are making CM 04/05, which will be crap. Hmm, i'm a sucker for CM though. Which is what i'll get. :|
The Decemberists 0 Report post Posted September 22, 2004 Super Super Gaz! Super Super Gaz! Super Gareth Taylor! 1-1 after 17m after Rotherham took an early lead. According to Colin Fry on Forest World Gaz took his arm band off, raised it into the air and pointed at it. Nice thing to do, I think. EDIT : But Football Manager IS Champ Man in all but name. You brand name whore

The Decemberists 0 Report post Posted September 22, 2004 That's what I was planning to do. But even if it is isn't I'll still claim Football Manager is far superior. Incidentally - why does Andy Impy exist? Anyone?
TheFranchise 0 Report post Posted September 22, 2004 CM really REALLY messed up the last two years or so, they've made the PC spec's TOO good, most people havent good fast enough pc's.
The Decemberists 0 Report post Posted September 22, 2004 But for those of us who have.... Anyway, Forest scrapped through to round 3 where all the big teams enter. You know, those massive clubs who play in Europe - like Millwall.
TheFranchise 0 Report post Posted September 22, 2004 They got lucky tonight Millwall. Beat 10 man Derby, but we controlled the match.
DCMaximo 0 Report post Posted September 23, 2004 I know a team who didn't get lucky...Oldham! Sad that we scored more goals yesterday than we have all season, but I'm still hopeful of a good season- our unbeaten run continues!
TheFranchise 0 Report post Posted September 23, 2004 I've been impressed with your lot, I still maintain that Robbie Keane was the best Leeds had to offer, > Smith, Viduka and Kewell.
deancoles 0 Report post Posted September 23, 2004 FM 2005 is up on sigames.com now. The media side has improved, I was playing Everton(18th at the time) and the mirror asked my thoughts on their chances of Suvrvival in the prem, I of course said that they should be glad to have a manager of their quality and that they had every chance of survival. Some of the transfers are a bit suspect though, Andy reid cost Man City about 950,000 and Michael Dawson cost me 2 million with a promise of a friendly match in the next year. TheFranchise 0 Report post Posted September 25, 2004 a FRIENDLY?? lol... I'm hoping the Derby match is on, weather's looking poor.
TheFranchise 0 Report post Posted September 26, 2004 Wigan were VERY lucky to get a point today.
deancoles 0 Report post Posted September 26, 2004 We were very lucky to get a point yesterday against Huddersfield, 3-1 down and we got an own goal and a dodgy penalty(first since april 2002).
King Cucaracha 0 Report post Posted September 28, 2004 Will the Football Manager games be replacing Champ Manager then, as they're basically the same? And when does Football Manager hit the shops? After 6 seasons of the CM 03/04, I'm kinda waiting for a new challenge.
The Decemberists 0 Report post Posted September 28, 2004 There is going to be another Champ Man, but it's made by a different company. Football Manager is the real follow up though.
The Decemberists 0 Report post Posted October 2, 2004 I've bumped the thread to laugh at Southampton. Sky Sports News think that Rupert Lowe has decided the answer to the Saints problems is Wigley's old mate, the man himself... David F'n Platt!
deancoles 0 Report post Posted October 6, 2004 Look at this Burnley to open "Singing Stand" I bet the tickets are dearer in that stand.
The Decemberists 0 Report post Posted October 7, 2004 Has eveyone given up on this thread then? Anyway - England v Wales this weekend. I was going to say 3-1 England, but as Super Gaz Taylor has pulled out the Welsh squad that's been changed to 3-0.
deancoles 0 Report post Posted October 7, 2004 Has eveyone given up on this thread then? Once our teams start winning it'll be fine. I'll agree with 3-0 because I can't see Hartson up front on his own dealing with defenders the quality of Campbell(who'll likely mark him),King,Terry and Ferdinand. Bellamy vs. Cole would have been a chance for Wales to trouble us 2 years ago but Cole's matured into one of the best Left back in world football. All that leaves is Giggs who hasn't been in top form for 3 years.
Guest Museite Report post Posted October 9, 2004 England 4 - 2 Wales Rooney Hatrick
King Cucaracha 0 Report post Posted October 9, 2004 Well, 2-0 to England. Not bad but not great. I swear though, Owen is so over-rated it's not even funny anymore. He wouldn't pass the ball because he was so deadset on scoring. Only trouble was, instead of passing, he continually took on situations where he was outnumbered by at least 2 men. And ended up losing the ball nearly every time. Real Madrid's bench doesn't need him, believe me.
Mystery Eskimo 0 Report post Posted October 9, 2004 A pretty good performance. Wales didnt really have a chance the whole game. If that back four can stay together I think a lot of teams are going to struggle to score against us.
DCMaximo 0 Report post Posted October 9, 2004 *mumbles something about "two lucky goals, one with a deflection"* At least Paul Jones played the game of his life today or it could have been worse. That and Wayne Rooney's selfish play costing England two very good chances. We never really looked like scoring, but Gabbidon played a great game, Koumas and Robinson impressed and super Simon Davies was great as a make-shift right back. Given a full strength team we may have kept it to 1-
The Decemberists 0 Report post Posted October 9, 2004 I swear though, Owen is so over-rated it's not even funny anymore 57 starts for England - 27 goals. [/sARCASM]Yeah, he's dead shit isn't he?[sARCASM] I can't really see how people can slag off Owen really... but each to their own I suppose... Anyway, pretty pleased with todays game. Thought we shoud've had a few more, and if Owen had played at all for Real this season I think he would've had one or two. Hopefully though Shawn "Too small for Forest" Wright Phillps will get a game on Wednesday thanks to Becks being suspended for being an idiot.
Mystery Eskimo 0 Report post Posted October 10, 2004 I thought Owen was pretty good yesterday. He had plenty of energy and made some good runs. DeFoe did nothing of note. I'd go with Owen and Rooney upfront and put Bridge back into the midfield when he's fit.
King Cucaracha 0 Report post Posted October 10, 2004 Don't get me wrong, Owen WAS world-class. But the fact is, he's done nothing of note for months now. Since coming back from his injury, he's been a shadow of his former self. Trouble is...the pundits and experts still rate him as one of England's most valuable players and continually harp on about him 'just needing one goal to kick-start his season'. He's been no better than Beckham, who's been slated recently. And the thing with Owen is, he still thinks he's 19 years old and tries to take it past more players than he needs to, takes too long on the ball and takes too long to shoot. deancoles 0 Report post Posted October 11, 2004 I guess Martin Keown's off the transfer list now that Micky Adams is gone, pity as Keown's what we need to climb up the table, he'd be worth 20 grand a week if he could get us out of this League.
The Decemberists 0 Report post Posted October 11, 2004 More Owen debate. He did well enough in the Euro's, didn't score many obviously, but assist wise he rated well and his overall play was good in terms of taking defenders with him on runs and giving Lampard, Rooney etc space to run into. Last season for Liverpool he got 20 goals again despite being injured for large parts of the season, and he's not had a chance to do anything this season at Madrid as Raul pretty much picks the team and he's not going to drop himself. If you get every team in England and ask would Owen get in there team the answer is yes, apart from Man U and the Arse. Even Chelsea would pick him ahead of Kezan and Gudjohnsen. Well, I would if I was in charge I'd have him in the bloody Forest team anyway...
deancoles 0 Report post Posted October 12, 2004 Wilkinson at Leicester Poor sods, even if he's there a week he'll make the club worse. Leicester should try Steve Cotteril at burnley, he could sort out their defence no probs and their style is very similar to Burnley's(booting it up to a forward on his own up front) Just read that Forest are after Leroy Lita for 500k and Leicester were after Danny Coles(centre back) for the same price although we want a Million, If they're true I don't care about Coles as he's been dire this season but I know we'll get a Forest reject in Exchange for Lita as we did with the Jim Brennan deal in 98.
