Guest The Old Me Posted July 26, 2003 Report Posted July 26, 2003 Looks like I'm a little bit late, but I'll offer my 5 cents anyway. I am all for an Orton push. To me, his RNN updates were gold, and his charachter right now totally fits in with HHH and Naitch. I'm not saying he should be pushed OVER Booker and RVD or Benoit, buit let's face it, Booker was BURIED at WM. RVD has been BURIED. And Benoit isn't getting any better, so I doubt they'll ever put the title on him now. Orton has not been buried by HHH or he writing team yet at this point, and THAT is a good thing.
Guest claydude14 Posted July 26, 2003 Report Posted July 26, 2003 He's getting pushed harder than anyone else on RAW. So comparison wise, that's a Monster Push.
King Cucaracha Posted July 26, 2003 Report Posted July 26, 2003 Wait a minute. Randy Orton cost Michaels the match on Raw? How? Orton hit an RKO on the chair, hurting the FACE. Michaels KICKED OUT. Jericho put on the Walls of Jericho, which hurts the BACK, and Michaels submitted about a minute or so afterwards. Yeah, damn that Randy Orton for costing Michaels the match. Seriously, if the 'typical' smarks got their way the roster would be about 3/4 the size it is now. And then, we'd all get over-critical of the guys left and they'd all be screwed. Just because Randy Orton isn't the best wrestler in the world and he's getting pushed...we should hate him? Looking past the over the top hatred...(Rico is NOT 8000 times more over than Orton, because Orton isn's given boring chants)... Orton is a perfectly fine midcarder. God forbid they push him. God forbid they try to make new stars. So they give you what you want. They push RVD and Benoit and Eddie and all your favs. After they retire, what happens. The new talent hasn't had a chance to develop, so no new stars come in, and we go back to the slump again. In an ideal world, they push both types of wrestlers. WWE isn't ideal. Bo ho. The fact is, the same thing happened with Lesnar. The guy the majority of people hated to start with, and now like. Anyone getting the big push over Benoit or Booker is going to get crucified around here. It's not just about Orton, it's about the fact your favs aren't being pushed. And Orton gets the blame, because he's only been in the business about a year, and by god he's not in ***** matches a few months into his debut.
Cherry Blossom Viscount Posted July 26, 2003 Report Posted July 26, 2003 The same people that hated Brock last year, hate Orton this year. It'll only be awhile before Orton does something cool and you'll have a bunch of sheep going ORTON~! every other post.
Guest The Old Me Posted July 26, 2003 Report Posted July 26, 2003 I never hated Lesnar. Sure he was very green at first and still is at times, but he was the new blood that was needed.
Guest TheZsaszHorsemen Posted July 26, 2003 Report Posted July 26, 2003 Hurricane didn't beat the Rock, Austin distracted The Rock, and Hurrican e got the quick roll up. How is that catapulting Hurricane to main event status? To me that's a fluke. If anyone helped Hurricane, it was (of all people) HHH. Remember the night after WrestleMania when HHH basically let Hurricane do whatever he wanted and they had a really good back and forth TV match? That help Helms LEAGUES more then a fluke roll-up.

Agreed. Hurricane and Rocky had some great on air moments, but that fluke win did NOTHING for Hurricane.

If there was any feeling that he did have a shot going into that match, it was because the Rock bothered to do anything at all with him... by putting him over in promos and matches. Besides, the Rock worked with Cane for like 3 weeks, and had awesome dueling promos with the blow-off being the Rock losing clean to him. HHH did the now standard TAKA match.
Guest The Old Me Posted July 26, 2003 Report Posted July 26, 2003 HHH did the now standard TAKA match. That's NOT standard for him anymore. Don't you remember when he SQUASHED Maven around that time? Beating him with a sleeper hold? Yes Rocky elevated Cane through promos, but the fluke win, did nothing for him.
Guest Big McLargeHuge Posted July 26, 2003 Report Posted July 26, 2003 Since when does losing to the Pedigree mean more than getting an actual win? Fluke or no, Rock did more to put Cane over than HHH.
Guest The Old Me Posted July 26, 2003 Report Posted July 26, 2003 Since when does losing to the Pedigree mean more than getting an actual win? Fluke or no, Rock did more to put Cane over than HHH. Personally because I think Cane got more offense in that match than he did with Rocky. It was well established that had Austin not run interference, Cane would have jobbed to that damn elbow. And that "win" was shortly forgotten.
Guest TheZsaszHorsemen Posted July 26, 2003 Report Posted July 26, 2003 Since when does losing to the Pedigree mean more than getting an actual win? Fluke or no, Rock did more to put Cane over than HHH. Because Hurricane looked like a title threat, not a fluke.
Guest The Czech Republic Posted July 26, 2003 Report Posted July 26, 2003 Personally because I think Cane got more offense in that match than he did with Rocky. He got a lot of offense on that girl in the front row at MSG.
Guest justking81 Posted July 26, 2003 Report Posted July 26, 2003 I like Randy Orton, it's fun seeing someone new getting a push. I think he'll be a major part of wrestling and a big star in years to come. It's actually as if HHH is taking the backseat to Orton right now, which is okay by me. Less HHH = better Raw.
Guest King of Kingdoms Posted July 27, 2003 Report Posted July 27, 2003 I like RANDY HES a future hoss.
Guest Choken One Posted July 27, 2003 Report Posted July 27, 2003 He isn't a Hoss. He is a Stud. Big Difference.
