LOTC, I'm sure that Vince's treatment of Bischoff was more of a final blow to their rivalry than just a general "I hate WCW" burial.  Eddie Guerrero was never in a position of power in WCW.

Really? Ya could've fooled me, because Bisch has been in the company for a year and they have NEVER taken him seriously.

What I'm saying is that if Bischoff wasn't...you know, the same Bischoff that said all those about Vince and tried to out do him all these years and was JUST a guy on top in WCW, he wouldn't be nearly as buried. It has to do with the fact that Vince hated Bischoff, not JUST WCW.

Well, Bischoff represents the WCW element in the current WWE product. Vince knew that the fans wouldn't know who he was at first, so he did the Confedential piece on him and WCW. Bad start. The piece portrayed in a terrible light, already planting the McMahon seed of evil in WWE fans heads. Now he is constantly humiliated and shit on by fans and WWE officials alike.

 

Bischoff = WCW.

 

Bischoff getting embarrassed = WWE hating WCW.

I would think most fans knew who Eric Bischoff was prior to him coming to WWE. He was very visible on WCW TV at a time when they were at their hottest, drawing 5.0-6.0 ratings on a fairly regular basis.

Sorry to go back to the original thread, but in my opinion even if Guerrero isn't over enough to win the title in 4 monhts, there's no reason why he wouldn't be over enough to just wrestle for the belt and lose. If you take him while he's over and put him in a few month run against the likes of Angle, he's going to get MORE over not less.

 

So, worst case scenario, Angle vs. Guerrero for the belt, with Angle winning to blow-off their feud.

With Eddie Guerrero gaining so much steam as a babyface -- though ironically enough he was supposed to turn heel again -- the WWE is thinking of booking Guerrero in a WWE title match some time in the fall. There is some talk amongst WWE officials that if Eddie Guerrero continues to garner uproarious heat, he may be booked in a WWE title match against Kurt Angle at the Survivor Series. The Series will emanate from Dallas, Texas this year, which is fairly close to Eddie's hometown of El Paso. With Smackdown! being the most popular show among the Hispanic audience, Eddie Guerrero may enjoy a title reign in order to ascertain his marketability as a viable commodity ( especially among the Latin audience).

If Eddie Guerrero becomes the WWE champion, all smarks will deliriously rejoice.

In order to capatilize on the title reign, they'd have to do a house show in El Paso, TX, where I live. They've already scheduled a SD! house show for here the Tuesday after SummerSlam.

 

In fact, that may even be where they do the televised house show from. That would be sweet! The only company that's done a televised show from El Paso was WCW, and that was back in '98.

Yes, this does sound more believable, but then again, it's also sad, too.

 

Vince took Heyman out of Head Writer postion, supposedly because of some backstage conflict, but it wouldn't surprise me if Heyman was coming up with ideas that Vince didn't like because they weren't his ideas.

Don't rule out Guerrero holding the belt until NWO 2004. There is a good chance that they might just have Angle take the belt then to give Eddie just a bit more credibility.

Definitely, the crowd loves a heel that cheats in the manner than Eddie does. He isn't hitting people with sledgehammers, but actually out thinking his opponents which leads to a good laugh. Plus the guy is ultra-charismatic before, after, and during his matches.
